Did they get rid of the super fast respawn times on enemies that made me stop playing Far Cry 2?
Please use spoiler tags.FOR THE LOVE OF ... I was nearly jump from my chair from Vass shoting him the ... so much blood.
This is insane. Never expected.
Once you capture an outpost good guys move in and it's yours forever (as a fast travel point and with bounty boards for side missions). I think the surrounding areas get less populated too.
I... Might have to eat my words
Do you have to take out the outposts multiple times like GTA:SA's gang territory, or are they one-and-done like in JC2?
lol people need to know the difference between playtest scores and mock reviews.Seems like Ubi's mock reviewers are better at their jobs than EA's.
Take over once, and they get populated by friendly forces forever.
Good framerate, tiny bit of soft pop up but nothing intrusive. The screen tearing people keep mentioning here seems to be an artefact of the capture gear, not the game.
Just MP maps, which is so disappointing to me. It seems like such a waste. So bought.
Can you make 'Single Player maps' with the editor? Or its just for MP levels.
According to Ubisoft on the forums: I'll paraphrase:So bought.

Oh wait so you can put bots/AI in there? What the hell?According to Ubisoft on the forums: I'll paraphrase:
"You have to validate your map before you can make it available to the public for multiplayer play. Vehicles, and AI will NOT validate."
Seems Ubisoft are serious about not having Vehicles and AI in the multiplayer. According to them, they are in the editor for you to be able to enjoy, but when you wish to share the maps with the public, AI and vehicles aren't allowed =/
It's a huge tease for sure. It makes me think that they are planning some kind of DLC that will allow it hopefully.
you mean thursday right?Didn´t see that coming. Wow.
Picking it up on Monday.
Wait what? So you cant make co-op type of maps to play with friends using the AI / Vehicles? :/

Thats cool, infinite SP levels :3According to Ubisoft on the forums: I'll paraphrase:

Judging from the PC footage I've seen, it seems to be checkpoints.Anyone know what the save system is like? I believe FC2 had checkpoints on console and manual/quicksave on pc. I'd rather FC3 be checkpoint only on both PC and console...if it is ill probably go with the pc version.
During missions checkpoints, outside missions everywhere.Judging from the PC footage I've seen, it seems to be checkpoints.
No. Only for yourself. You wont be able to share it with your buddies, at least for now.
Here's a vid that was just published that kinda explains it:

Only for you to fuck around with by yourself. The map wont validate to share.
Worst use of SSAO for a long time, just bad.

Watching this again and the game seems to run fine on PS3. Also, it looks like they improved the controls too. Far Cry 2 had some terrible analog stick acceleration, where you would push the stick to aim and keep pushing but the movement didn't seem to register and then suddenly the movement kicked in.
Does anybody know if it's possible to deactivate some of the HUD elements?
Yep it's horrible. It's like there's a constant shadow around everything...
Nope, that seems to be a common complaint from all the reviews. The HUD is really annoying.

Anybody think thats perhaps a step too far? I dont want to go through the game feeling completely unthreatened as I travel around. The speed of the respawning was my problem with FC2, not that they respawned in general.
Maybe adding the wild animals in kind of replaces that constant danger feeling?
