Everybody seems to keep missing this. Have to say that the NYT is a pretty good source.
There were 3 to four devices with an unspecified number of emails on them, but it was reported to Fox that none of them had classified info on it, so we at least know what progress has been made.
Unless the emails revealed that Hilary was either an ISIS spy, Dr. Doom, or Cobra Commander, under no plane of existence would this be true, and I feel bad for anyone who falls for Trump's garbage.
That's the real crime here.

I think so, but an incoming President has a lot of leeway in changing the people working for her. It wouldn't be odd at all for Clinton to remove him. And given his interference in the political process, it would be a bad precedent for her to not do so.

The fact is both statements can be true. They are investigating Weiner for his sexting with a minor, which could involve "thousands" of emails. Of those thousands of emails, there could be three emails which actually pertain to Huma/Clinton.

How does it have nothing to do with Clinton? Weiner is the unrelated investigation (though, where did that come up? OP isn't updated)... where they found new emails relating to the Clinton investigation, which they're now investigating. Am I reading their statement wrong?

In a way, she's at a huge disadvantage. Trump can say damn near whatever he wants, where she has to watch her steps very carefully. She's just been doing really well with it. I hope this doesn't hurt her too much, but honestly there's no telling in this election.

Where are you getting that this has nothing to do with Clinton? Comey suggested otherwise.

Isn't that why they're investigating those emails? To find whether they matter?
I hate that it's happening, but imagine if the FBI didn't come forward now -- if we found out after the election was over they investigated more emails, GOP would have flipped their shit and accused FBI of hiding it to help Clinton (especially if something was found).

Personally, I would rather he sat on that statement until he had something more concrete. Maybe that's not possible- I'm not aware of what his responsibilities are regarding this case. But if he *had* to say something, he could have mentioned what he was looking at, and that there may very well end up being nothing of substance.
Because this is negative news for her, and Comey knows that. If these all end up being nothing, then he's going to look incredibly bad.
My thought as well. I find it hard to believe Clinton (or anyone around her) shared thousands of emails with Huma while SOS. Seems more like what you suggested.
They don't even know that they're related to the Clinton investigation! Comey himself says it in the letter, just potentially! And from what's being reported, so far there's nothing classifed, they aren't emails Hillary wrote herself (they were forwarded by Huma to another account so she can print them) and they aren't emails that were withheld by Clinton, just found on another device.
For all the FBI knows, they are the same emails they already checked. They haven't even reviewed them fully. Comey says he was compelled to tell Congress this "out of an abundance of caution" because he previously said they weren't investigating anything else, but it still makes no sense to not be more specific in his letter, although the media also dropped the ball by quickly saying the FBI had reopened the case, when it clearly didn't say that in the letter.

Uh, she's never been losing the general election, always been the frontrunner in polls, and Trump has tanked more than any other candidate in modern history twice in one election, and is behind her currently more than anyone in recent memory, as well is considered by the majority to be utterly and completely bodied in the debates and now peddles fringe conspiracy theories to try and rationalize his shitty performance, and we're well on our way to a potential Clinton blowout.
I think we're well beyond Trump as being an unstoppable force
I can easily see that Comey couldn't be more "concrete" with his statement to Congress as it involves an ongoing investigation which elaboration could potentially compromise.
But he had to know it would start a shit storm.
Whether intentional or not, it could be seen as tampering. Particularly if nothing of value is found.
