Hey don't get me wrong! The US as the worst choice ever I just don't think the tax thing is a very good argument, the tax thing got chucked about loads early on and nothing stuck.I would be a never Clinton person tho! If I was able to vote, way to much smoke n all that.

Who refuses to sell or recuse himself from any of his 500 businesses despite the unprecedented conflict of interest were he to become president. A man whose disgustingly predatory and fraudulent University was meant to target the elderly and uninformed and disenfranchised to steal their money. Clearly. She definitely gives speeches to that kind of crowd because these folks commit fraud, have donated to Donald, and the firm has supported his work in real estate despite past allegations against him. I have no idea why or how she picks one over the other but maybe it has something to do with perceived power. Goldman's body of work is definitely in a different stratosphere compared to any of Trump's businesses in terms of shady behavior, corruption, and fraud.

In any event, I wouldn't want to be seen with anyone from Goldman Sachs following numerous allegations and settlements. Those were serious felonies they were accused of. The federal gov't obviously passed on securing convictions and ensured the firm could offset fines with tax offsets and faux consumer relief.

In my mind, any talks Hillary had with Goldman around that time should have been a simple request for employees to come forward with information about the fraud schemes they saw as other whistleblowers had done. Other than that what is there to talk about?

My parents just called me a few days ago to ask who to vote for. They want all the pros and cons laid out in front of them. While I have a lot of information off the top of my head, a comprehensive list would be pretty amazing. If you have the time to put one together, I promise I'll make good use of it and get Clinton a few more votes. :-)

That sounds like guilt by association to me. I'd say the main reason she spoke to them was campaign donated and well, because they were paying her.

That's perfectly legal and acceptable. It's not like they are the KKK or something.

Yeah I'm focusing on corruption right now and will throw way more up on the list tomorrow, but what do you guys think... should I include a separate category for his worst racist, bigoted, xenophobic and misogynistic comments? I mean, there are literally so many I don't think I have the time to comprehensively get that sort of list done before election day though, but I can do a "Worst Of" sort of top twenty or something.

GS is indeed one of the most corrupt companies, but if I had to choose between a GS surrogate (which I don't think Clinton is) and Trump, I'd take the GS guy without hesitation. Because for all his corruption, he'd at least be somewhat competent, wouldn't empower the racists, and wouldn't start throwing nukes around because he'd find fighting Isis without them too complicated...

It is really mind-boggling, that you have 40%+ of your population willing to bring this man into power.

I doubt we'll see any Republican in any sort of position appointed by Clinton.

Obama's naive thought that Republicans were ever going to work with him finally came back to bite him in the butt.

Because the argument that people are gauging from this piece of shit non-story innuendo garbage is that they have a choice between two evil candidates, either equally or only tepidly less so. This comment has been made multiple times in this topic, and is directly on conversation.

It is so blatantly intellectually dishonest that it is time to put to bed the lie. Hillary does not even rank in the top 30 of most corrupt Presidential Candidates. With the leaks of her e-mails and speeches and whatnot, she is now unwittingly the single most transparent politician ever to be entering office. And given what people usually write about in private, the fact that we have found virtually nothing damning or illegal from her is remarkable, since the hacks were intended to do just that.

Instead we have a lot of shit about taking specific policy positions, very wonky talk, a campaign with brutally honest critics of Hillary - a good thing, less echo chambers! - and someone who has taken the time to seek out and help the poor and disenfranchised and minority groups. She expresses genuine empathy and concern about the plight of constituents. She has wonderfully genuine friendships with her confidants. She is amazingly kind and competent. Her speeches in Wall Street in some ways made her MORE liberal. There has been no Pay to Play exposed despite conspiracy nutter bullshit interpretation, no intentional mishandling of Classified Info, no scheming murderer or hater.

Yet we want to talk about both sides TRASH, when the worst thing we found was Donna Brazile taking things into her own hands to leak questions even a mentally challenged individual could figure out would be in debates. So it's time to fight back against gross opinions trying to normalize Trump behaviors and diminish the qualifications of a supremely competent and capable leader who we have a long record of public service helping people.

I will though I can't promise you ModBot won't close it. Although in the topic I'm building, I am going to be trying to comprehensively list Hillary Scandals, so people can legitimately compare and contrast. She has a few, but they're relatively tepid by comparison.

I don't know if we need another echo chamber thread. I mean if someone creates that one, we need to have a similar one for the Clintons.

They are both bad and have a lot of shady stuff in their rearview mirror. People on either side will turn a blind eye to all of it and explain away why it doesn't matter. I see no upside to creating that type of thread.

B) Nothing Hillary has done is even remotely equivalent to the laundry list of depravity and crime Trump has amassed, and the "but both sides" thing is total trash in this case

And this is why the thread is worth making. Because they are not both bad, and one is so many million of times worse that trying to make it so is akin to intentionally deceiving oneself. Still, the thread might be redundant for folk. But I'm going to use it to destroy this vacuous argument once and for all.

People need to start rubbing brain cells together, it is infuriating ignorance bordering on willful misconduct of ones intellectual capacity.

They are historically unfavorably rated. I think it's fair to say they are both bad.

Only one is qualified and capable of doing the job, but that doesn't automatically make her a good candidate.

I would argue that favorability ratings and whether or not someone is actually a good candidate are not the same thing.

(I mean, they are, insofar as being a "good candidate" hinges partly on electability, but that's not what people usually mean when they say "they're both bad".)

This is like the chicken or egg bullshit. She is the single most unfairly scrutinized and attacked candidate in modern American history. She has had 30 years being dragged through the mud by investigations run by offensively corrupt Republicans who literally spent MORE ON BENGHAZI than WATERGATE. Not once in all that time have even Republicans been able to find a single illegal or genuinely offensive thing she has done, except be a bit "careless" with e-mails. That is remarkable for such a intensely public figure. Maybe you don't understand how often the public scrutiny destroys politicians, but the fact she has sustained such withering attacks and they have found the equivalent of jack and shit on a hill is simply incredible. In other words, she is not historically unfavorable because she is a bad candidate - that is a farcical reading of modern history. She has historical unfavorables because the Republicans have run the single most organized, directed defamation campaign seen in the last 100 years of political history. Whenever she enters office and is doing her job, her approval ratings soar. Because it is impossible to make a caricature out of someone who is self-evidently so competent and well informed. Who shows such genuine compassion for her constituents.

That the Republican smear campaign of fabrications and imaginary musings has hurt is beyond argument; that this is equivalent to meaning the person at the receiving end of attacks is a bad candidate is pathetically naive. And this "bad candidate", for all Republicans have tried to do, is still set to fucking destroy Trump in the election. And contrary to terrible reporting, it ain't a protest vote against Trump. Polling bears it out: People voting for Hillary are generally enthusiastic about her.
