So, what's the current WrassleGAF opinion towards CM Punk? A talented but bitter ego maniac and pathological liar? That's where I'm at.

what did he lie about?

The Ryback "I'm dumb as fuck" confrontation. Ryback said Punk never said anything to him and never criticized him to his face. He said he always thought they were cool and that Punk was always fine with him. More inclined to believe Ryback's version of the story.

I'm not sure about him being a pathological liar, but the rest seems accurate. He comes of as a cry baby who is a pain in the ass to work with on any level.

I love Punk, but what part of "Punk not being confrontational" sounds truthful to you?

:lol

Now that's the truth. I suppose you do need some sort of personal arrogance to get as far as he did when he wasn't really fancied to be a top star, but he does take the cake.

From another point, I feel that he's not a one way person. Sometimes he's confrontational, other times it looks that he doesn't say a thing when he should. I think is more the second, just that it has some burst moments when he just shoots. Problem he must've had is that those moments were it was time to say something, he didn't, and just waited till the last moment.

Loved the podcast with HHH. By the looks of how NXT is, it's most likely that we would have and improvement of WWE when he's full control. Except if he brings Nash to the mix.

Oh man, HHH at the end of the podcast saying all the right things about how he handles promos in NXT and wanting a 2 hour RAW. Saying woman should get more time.

Well....I loved Edge but he wishes he had a spear like Reigns.

Too bad Reigns plays like Ken spamming super dragon punches. Gotta mix it up!

Not disagreeing with you, but I think that could be levelled at a lot of people in the wrasslin' business.

True true. I'm sure CM Punk is one of the worst offenders though, just going off the information that's out there.

Still not as good as Goldberg/Rhyno though.

I'm still not sure why he went with the spear though. He might have been given it, but it's just overplayed at this point when there's so many running impact moves you could do.

Not sure why I put "but" in my post - I'm sure a lot of successful people in any given industry are dicks, for better or worse. It's like good footballers being perceived as arrogant.

Probably the pop factor, and high impact. Goldberg, Rhyno, Edge - as a heel it was high impact; as a face - the pop (and high impact). Plus how difficult is it to fuck up?

Someone find the Batista jif...

The problem with the spear is the fact that he has the same setup as the superman punch, which isn't a finisher.

So why would he ever go for a superman punch over a spear when the spear is more likely to get him a win? It's like he doesn't even know how to kayfabe wrestle.

I think there is definitely some truth to what Punk says. We know these guys work pretty much every day of the year, busting their ass off, with most of them not even getting a fair shot.

I do find it strange that Punk keeps claiming they cleared him to wrestle when he shouldn't have been considering how many other guys seem to be held back until they're absolutely ready to return.

I could really see it playing both ways.

The staph infection stuff does sound legit though.

So, yeah, I think there is truth to what Punk has said but I'm not sure he knows how to go about dealing with it when it comes to talking to people like Vince or Triple H.

Definitely a hard talent to work with but I think the gold standard for pathological liar is hulk hogan.

WWE needs to be a place that needs to be able to work with hard to handle talents though. Orton for example wanted a vacation to heal some wounds for months. Then they gave him a break as soon as he was getting super hot.

Punk had always talked about how he never felt he was getting enough time to heal prior to the rumble.

Both sides probably have things they regret but watching punk on UFC taping following the rumble you can't help but feel that he isn't going to survive a training camp and at 37 he isn't going to do well in the UFC.

It be easier to agree with the WWE if they didn't try to pull the independent contractor shit with a non compete and owning the rights to their character and name.

Especially given the amount they work the guys and new heathcare laws what they are doing could and should be challenged in court as against the law.

If the hand is cocked, he has to use it. If he goes for a spear and his fist goes off, what's he going to do then?

I think it's different when you're one of the guys, especially today. He's probably held to the same standard as Cena, and do you think he's ever said no to a "Ready to come back to work then, pal?" calls?

That's my biggest issue. Like Big Chew's KO punch it's stupid.

Its a busness with people full of egos that spend half of their day working out and starring at their body in mirrors with one person winning and one person losing. Plus you add in faces making more cash and heels making less money from merch.

Not gonna happen but I would love to see Curtis Axel do a small program with Erick Rowan where he constantly whines about how he would have won the Royal Rumble if he wasn't screwed over.

When what you have to say about Punk is that he's a "bad communicator", you should probably realize that the problem is that he doesn't want to talk to you and you should think about why that might be.

During the whole thing it seems like he was stuck between the company line and what he wants to do.

That's what a decent writing team would do. A couple of promos / interviews, and then you've got a decently built feud.

And yes, it will never happen.

Rowan is in such an odd spot. He basically got Sheamus's spot because of a big show injury and is an easy jobber face.

What was his best match? He is such a big dude I could see him having Kane's spot.

Please, pointing at a a sign is like the most inflammatory gesture you can do in the WWE.

Like that Italian gesture.

He's amazing and I still wish he was back in the ring and not in the UFC, where I fear he's going to get wrecked pretty badly, unfortunately. I do hope he gets paid a mountain of money though.

I don't think he's a bitter ego maniac or a liar. I'd be pretty bummed out too if my name was consistently out there, the fans liked me okay, the merchandise sales aren't terrible and I'd put out great matches and all that and not being able to main event at the feds' biggest event.

I'd wish he come back, but you know what? He deserves the vacation. So I hope he heals up, finishes with UFC, and finds a life out side of wrasslin' where he can make money for the rest of his life and not have to be like many pro wrestlers who are passed their lime light still doing small indie shows for peanuts. Essentially, I hope he doesn't end up like Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. And not just him either. Every body else in that WWE roster, young up and coming wrestlers, wrestlers all over the world... I hope none current/future talent have to go through that.

Punk's an asshole, but it is everyone else's fault. Got it.

No, I'm saying it's HHH's fault, not everyone else's. Look at what he said about the Nash angle, the problem was that "Nash couldn't hang". Really? That's the problem? That whoops, turns out over-50 Kevin Nash can't go like he used to? You know, because he used to be able to go. He had that rep as a worker. Like when he ended Goldberg's streak in an 11-minute high-energy slugfest. 11 minutes! Who could know that he'd run out of gas much more quickly 23 years later?

Yes, why wouldn't Punk tell HHH what was wrong that one time? HHH is wise and clear of vision at all times and has nothing but the best interests of all the talent in his heart at all times. It was Vince! Vince wanted to put Punk in an angle with Kevin Nash, Vince's favorite wrestler.

What, you didn't like Triple H beating CM Punk in his supposed ascension to the main event? What more do you want?! Kevin Nash in a Ladder match. What a colossal waste of an angle that became (after one week).

I did love this feud, so I'm happy that I get to play it and not pay a penny for it. Still a scummy pack.
ADR/Christian at Extreme Rules 2011 was terrific. I loved that. Great story and two fresh people in the main event. But they went and decided to boost Orton's ego and have him win the title s'more. That feud produced good matches, but damn if it didn't hurt Christian and ADR only to give Orton the rub. Same year as HHH/Nash Ladder match!

I didn't mind the way it started as I was one of those "lets see what happens" people after coming back to watching after The Nexus, but the meltdowns on the wrestling forum I was on after Christian had the belt for 2 days was hilarious.

Tremendous matches between Orton and Christian like you said, but it really should have ended with Christian getting the decisive win the match after the spit.

out of all of the rivalries from the past....Christian/Orton :/. I love that feud but that shit should have been a free dlc because honestly, it was a forgettable feud.

It's one of the very few feuds featuring two guys still under WWE contract in 2015 where I actually remember moments. Like the RKO the SD after Extreme Rules, the legs under rope, Christians promos after the full turn where he's stolen Ortons wallet and he's at a casino, the spit and of course, the RKO onto the steps.

It's also the only way to play as Edge and Christian because 2k are some carny master motherfuckers.
