Why 20? I think this is rather arbitrary. In my opinion this feature doesn't make too much sense unless you can go all out and have a huge tournament with thousands of spectators on each match. Of course I'd also use it if only 20 were allowed, but it would have actually a practical use with more than that since it would be easy to set it up as a social experience, and promote the game with tournaments.

I liked last years efforts, but its just... On release day Fifa will have more bang for my buck and be the more polished experience overall. I might be getting PES later for 20€ or something as well, though. I still like the feeling of scoring a goal better in PES than in Fifa and the off-the-ball stuff they are putting in sounds interesting enough.

And it doesn't need to be tournament big to be useful. I would like to play a tourney with 5 other guys over the net while everyone is talking on microphones and watching/playing the same match.

Ah okay, that makes sense. And yeah I also would use it for that reason only to play some stuff with friends. But I guess this would only stir up discussion about why they won't make it tournament big. I guess until they can ensure that, this won't be done at all.

I'd love to have it too, though. Either way.

I don't think it would stir up anything. Every game that is viewed by lots of players is using a model of very few spectator slots + live stream. I think not having to boot up the game to watch a tournament with very good players is actually a bonus.

I don't see why FIFA would need to be different in that regard.

Spectator mode would be so awesome. But I would be contented if they included a 2D match engine for Pro Clubs so you'd at least have something to watch while waiting in the dressing room....real-time game updates old Championship Manager style haha.

I am hyped for many games this year (Dark Souls for example) but I never was so hyped to get my hands on a football game as this year. I am literally breathing every bit of information I can get. God damnit! Still one month...

Hm, I enjoy playing Fifa with friends the most, but other than that, playing Fifa online MP against random people or offline against AI is just a matter of mood for me. I am not always in a super competetive mood, so improving some techniques offline is enough for me in those times.

Is there any news about better balancing of the online connection? I skipped FIFA 11 so am not sure if it's already fixed, but in FIFA 10 the connection would almost always heavily favour one player, almost as if they were hosting the session.

If you were on the shitty end of the stick your passes would be inaccurate, shooting would be weak or high and wide, your players would miss simple tackles, passes would bounce off teammate's shins, defenders would go AWOL, your goalkeeper would let in the simplest of shots, your sprint speed would be reduced, player reactions would be sluggish, players would fall over a lot in tackles... the list goes on. It's as if your own game was a second or so behind the play, as if you were chasing shadows.

At the same time your opponent would enjoy the polar opposite of the symptoms above and be able to walk through your defence at will. The weird thing is, you could accept a rematch against the same player and the situation would be reversed.

Was this kind of thing still happening in FIFA 11? If so, any word if it's been addressed in FIFA 12?

yeah,that kind of thing it's still in fifa 11,but less.
i didn't know that was due connection and lag though...i though that the game just simply hates me

New My Pro menu in clubs for easy access to editing pro and viewing accomplishments.

Maybe this year they're going to build the system for editing your be a pro's text file right into the game! I feel like only about 40% of pro clubs players have cheated, so maybe we can get that up to 100% for Fifa 12!

(anyone who's not sure what I'm talking about, people are editing their BAP's text file somewhere, somehow and giving themselves a rating over 100 - it's absolute bullshit and EA really needs to make sure they have it fixed for 12)

This usually happens when the other player is the host. This has been a huge issue for me for almost all EA sports games online. I don't play NHL 11 without being host and I no longer play Madden online for this reason. Drives me crazy.

If you want to avoid this try to be the home team, that works for me when playing NHL 11.

Barely any news these past few weeks except for several english clubs announced as EA Sports Partner (one benefit would be that you can download their official game sleeve from their respective sites..hurrah) and a new screenshot below (DAT HAIR)

Also... haven't heard anybody else wanting to do it so I'll be creating the OT again this year :)

i didn't like the passing system in fifa 11, did they change/improve it?

i like the improvements in manager mode, last day of transfers is gonna be awesome :D

Which aspect of it didn't you like? You can tweak the passing speed and error via sliders in FIFA12 so hopefully that'll alleviate some of the problems there for you...

PRO CLUBS biggest problem has to be the AI surely? Almost every goal we concede is down to shitty AI. We don't like to play with an ANY and we just lose to lame pros steaming down the wing and hoofing it into th ebox for an easy header. 99% of our goals conceded must be this. Very rarely do we concede a goal based on good football with a nice build up.

The ability to upgrade your AI players or something would've been awesome. or just a higher base level ffs.

I'm not sure what difficulty setting they've set your AI teammates at in Pro Clubs but they definitely could use some major improvements. The defence positioning can be such a joke that I find myself not controlling a defender that's nearest to the ball but instead selecting others players that I see are out of position or not marking properly, just to manually place them in the proper space. Which ends up with me using the secondary press a heck lot to contain the attacker while I'm busy shifting my defense around.

In other news, I'm about 40 games shy of reaching 1000 total club matches played! :D Easily the best mode in the game and I'm sure it'll remain that way for FIFA12 heh

Even with an any, which helps a lot, their stats are so bad that any decent created pro is a nightmare.

Maybe I wasn't that good at FIFA, but the pressing A+B to strip the ball from the defender fucking annoys the shit out of me. I hope playing defense is a little bit more fun this time around.

According to the new podcast, all players (fifa 12) ratings are changing before the game launches. No official ratings yet, the ones in the games com demo were putted just 'for the moment'.

Does anyone know why EA doesn't put the FIFA games (except Street) on Games on Demand for Live ? I mean come on, it's the game that stays almost the whole year in my disc-tray.

The ratings test will come with Fernando Torres. Do EA have the balls to represent his real world dip in ability over these last couple of years or will they continue to value him at the levels of his 2008/9 peak which've carried him thus far. Something tells me they won't.

Very intrigued to play this, I was mightily impressed with PES so I'm hoping for big things from Fifa.

If it's anything like FIFA11 (Passing Power Assistance can be turned on in all modes except Ranked), you could probably switch back to legacy defending in clubs...which is a shame.
