Am I the only person who edits player boots if they're the shitty EA boots? I only do it for big players and teams (especially the ones I play with). I prefer my players to look the part. :p

No, I do it too. Aimar wears Puma boots, not that shitty stuff EA puts on him.

I really enjoy FIFA's wide variety of venues but coming from FIFA 09 on 360 and FIFA 11 (10) on PC, I was expecting they would've added more than 4 stadiums in 2 years.

Edit: Maybe PES has an exclusive deal in Portuguese stadiums.

Why can't we have Parkhead as a stadium? At least one from Scotland would be nice, and Parkhead is the biggest one in the country!

So as a person who last owned PES 09, would this be a good fifa to jump back into? I play fifa occasionally at friends' places and all, but finally want to play at home.

Also, wheres the best place to get it from? Amazon?

Hampden or nothing. Why side with either of the Old Firm? Neither deserve special treatment considering their "spectacular" Euro form this year, sadly for the rest of Scottish football.

Yup Amazon, and yup Fifa 12 will be the best Fifa yet, from the looks of it with also introducing a new tactical defense mechanic. So most people will need to relearn the game anyway.

I'm getting it on 360 for this reason and others. Hopefully load times aren't that bad.
Had me curious and looked. Why is the PC version $39.99 on Origin?

full price on the PC for sports games would be pretty lame. They often don't get the same level of support or attention. In the world of FIFA the engine lagged behind for years. I don't know if it's still an issue as of FIFA 11 because i stopped seeing significant chatter about it.

So I'm assuming we are doing the gaf club again? After a long break I am ready for some clubbing even if it means I have to hear koji scream for hours lol.

a lot of focus on the UT aspect.. can't say i'm a fan of it, should be optional rather than forced.
$$$$

I honestly couldn't care less about UT though myself. Played it the week it came out (FIFA 10?) and put together an superclub and it was boring after that. Clubs uber alles.

FIFA 10 was when it all got better.

Well I just said Parkhead because it was the biggest, Hampden would be fantastic too. I know that we played quite terrible this year in Europe but that shouldn't stop EA from giving us one stadium considering we've had some Euro successes, albeit in the past :(

Wow, I think it's going to have to be my first PC FIFA purchase this year. Having seen the video, it looks markedly superior to the console iterations visually.

No Turkish League or Fenerbahce? Well, there's one less game I need to get...

It's our lovely football federation deciding it would be better not to renew their licence for the league with EA. I doubt EA wants to negotiate with each Super lig team individually as it probably costs a shitton more than a singular license. Stupid decision by the TFF, but in line with their plan of devaluing and ruining Turkish Football.

Regarding FIFA Clubs on GAF this year, I was thinking we might want to look into a geographic split initially with separate East Coast and West Coast clubs. Lag has been a problem in the past and we've seen with 11 that it's a geographic issue, so localizing things would mean no quitting or having to drop out with the horrible button delay.

Also, I imagine we'll have a lot of people playing initially, and smaller clubs would mean more time playing striker or midfield and less time having to play right back and getting bored or frustrated. After things calm down a bit and some people stop playing as much, we can look into combining into a proper GAF club. Are people up for this?

I guess we can do that doesn't really matter to me I am in the midwest so I can probably play on either club. I guess it depends on what everybody else thinks.

The input lag wasn't a geographical issue, but local match ups will still perform better. Remember, you're still going to match up with anyone in the world.

I have direct confirmation from both the community director and the lead clubs developer that input lag was a geographical issue.

As pings went higher due to longer distances, the code was getting ahead of the internet connections and it would eventually fall into a loop that we saw as button delay.

Edit: For what it's worth, they tried to fix the code with a patch (in 11) a while back and it was still a geographical issue, so they're going to tweak the matchups for clubs in 12, that's part of why it'd be important to have people with lower pings to each other.

So what you're saying is that you don't want me on your team, I see how it is.

So basically Miramar Boyz will be open to North Americans only, and if you want to play with us for a lag-free experience, you can. We'll win. A LOT.

Ramen can still be the go-to GAF club that allows all races, nationalities, and drug addictions.

And if you want to play late at night while the rest of us sleep, and make us lots of points, and turn us into a premiere club in the nation, we encourage that.

If that's how PR wanted it to be said, I won't say anything more.

But you're still going to be matching with people globally, so geography matching will still be an issue.

So basically...
Errr, not exactly. I'm talking a geographic split - maybe East of the Mississippi and West of the Mississippi? It just seems like keeping the regions a little tighter is going to help us all out.

I thought they were trying to find people closer matchups this year - e.g. if you're playing in North America, you'd be much more likely to face opponents from here. Not sure if I'm remembering that correctly...

You can choose to match with people in your region in 11.

Now, maybe they have someone on their team that's geographically sucking it up, but then your chances of lag are dramatically reduced.

If you have one european on an american squad, every game is going to suck.

Well mostly, I was explaining what was going to happen with MB =P Splitting within america is going to water down the 2 clubs too much, plus prevent us from playing with our old friends.

We've never had major lag issues within America, unless someone's modem (read: mine) was shitting the bed.

It's just a temporary split while the teams are full, then we'll switch over. It makes it a lot easier at the beginning for everybody, I think it's a really good plan.

We'll probably have nights where there are like 20 guys on, it just won't work as one club until those people leave. We do want you guys to play though! This just makes it possible.

dividing NA in 2? that kinda blows, I am in North Carolina
It's ok sneaky, we'll make a NEW new club, Custom Bromations. I am pretty opposed to the idea of a split NA too. I think between Ramen and MB we'd have more than enough room for everyone.

Again, it's so people can actually play striker and a-mid when the game comes out and it's really busy instead of having to play right back. It'll also help with lag while the EA servers are getting killed when the game first comes out. In two weeks or a month, once a lot of people have quit, we'll roll into having one club and it'll be just like old times.

Maybe you and hov can captain the east team!

Maybe we can take a Clubs head count right before the game is out. That will make it easier to make a sensible decision based on numbers and geography.

Anyway, I didn't mean to derail adelante's thread with Clubs talk. Just wanted to throw that idea out there and see what people think about it. We can discuss later and see what makes sense. Looking forward to playing Clubs with everyone in a few short weeks. :D
