I feel that from a competitive perspective VF5FS' stages are the best in the series. They are varied and enter the dynamic of match play without overwhelming it one way or the other (the problem with VF3)

I really like how the variations in the stages are minor, yet they add some dynamics to the matches without being stupid. Things like having ankle-high walls that allow for smaller, open stages without being pushed out randomly (although goddamn do they look stupid), or stages that alternate being walled and open rings, or the difference in ring heights, breakable walls. Even the silliest variant (the tacos) are interesting, as they really force you to pay attention or else get absolutely destroyed.

I wish they had the VF5:R variants in the home version of VF5:FS though, as I thought most of them looked better (although I think a couple of them were changed for visibility reasons, like the raft stage losing the fog). It's funny, since VF has a reputation for being a stale, lifeless game but parts of the art direction (like with most of the stages, and the animation in general) are really well executed.

Agree and they do look better.

One thing I dislike is the proximity guard from jumping attacks. I hate being locked in place from so far away.

Maybe my memory is more fuzzy than I'd like to admit, but I don't remember people leapfrogging at me in Third Strike very easily like they do in SF4; felt like I could move out of jumping range much easier in that game.
I play online only and this is the bane of my existence

Now that Mortal Kombat and Smash have custom moves, I feel like every fighter is going to feel stale and behind the times if it doesn't allow you to customize your gameplay experience to some degree. If Street Fighter V doesn't have a similar option, it will feel pretty lame.

Do you have any idea how I feel about any character that doesn't have Stand attacks? Every game after 1999 is behind the times.

I wonder if they have different elemental installs. We're pretty sure the super bar length is something you get to pick out. (Advantage to shorter is that you get more frequent installs.)

Forced to drop 133 dollars to replace a largely functional PS3 outside one element (ethernet port) that just happened to stop me from maximizing my experience regarding the one game I care about, despite the fact that I have a PS4 just picking up dust, that also plays said game. Feels bad.

Couldn't disagree more with this. It's a cool concept and all but that doesn't mean every fighting game has to have it. There's plenty of other things SFV could do to not feel "stale."

[QUOTE="God's Beard!";162143575]Why is Kenshi copying his shadow thing? That's not a stand attack, it's a damn fireball.

persona has stands lol, but im pretty sure you knew that already

My roundhouse and triple kick buttons on my stick have gone out. On 360 these are the left and right trigger buttons. I open it up and replace the buttons but it still doesn't work. I don't think it's the terminal plate, because other buttons work. Could it be the PCB?

P4A's card system is horribly designed, and balanced so poorly. Some characters have like 2, while some others have over 5, and almost impossible to break. Akihiko has 2. CAESAR IS TRASH.

It just over complicates the game for no reason. Just copy stand crash system. It's better.

Honestly, I felt disappointed in Persona in this aspect. They didn't really feel like stands from Jojo's, they functioned mostly like specials, except it originated from your persona. Even when you do let them out for the characters that can, such as Yu pressing D to make Izanagi go forward and apply pressure, it felt much more limited. Jojo's made the stands feel more "autonomous" in that with a lot of them, you had ways to carry out actions while you command it to do something else. I didn't play Ultimax and Koromaru, so he might be the exception for those who played him though.

persona stand is like pretty much strictly a shadow dio style thing isn't it? rather than the more crazy variety that the actual active/passive stand users bring

like there's nothing in the line of jotaro/dio style stand management or whatever

Watson and Valle isn't the problem. Watson and Wiz has to make up. Valle is just being neutral and professional.

Shadow Labrys' persona is almost entirely autonomous.

Anyone got a tutorial for buying the HK version of Xrd handy?

I just realized I'm going to have to buy Elphelt and unlock Sin again. FML

Yea she is autonomous, she felt more similar to Carl from BB than a Jojo's character to me. Like, it didn't really have much in the ways of normals, which were just the big punches (I also didn't like that she felt really limited because of only 2 buttons for her normals and 3 specials to work with) and it's specials were rather slow, though the laser and her awakening super was pretty sick to play with. When I see Jojo's stands you see the stands have a whole host of them and it is much more faster paced than Labrys' persona. That's just me though.

No, but Koromaru is probably the closest. I heard they nerfed him, though.

Why would you buy the HK version now, when the US version is out?

Also, you traded in a PS3 and paid an extra $133 to get a used replacement? That's a pretty crummy deal considering used super slim PS3s are like <$100.

What could they do to not make SFV feel stale?
