Fate / extra was my first introduction to Saber so that looks nice to me. I don't like the casual Saber though. I haven't seen fate / zero but from fate stay night and fate/ extra it doesn't seem in character to me.

Edit: holy fuck! With all that Saber I totally skipped over the Villkiss. I think I would be down for a casual or pilot suit Ange scale. Chris or Jill would be preferred though.
I doubt we'll see any scales of the pilots...unless maybe by Megahouse or something. They're bound to be boring though, I mean, they're all wearing the same thing, just different colours.
I'm waiting to see who else makes paramails.

The Fate series has a lot of market saturation, same way things like Naruto and One Piece do. Thus why there are so many figures of these characters.

The "main" Saber (that has hordes of figures) is a character from the visual novel (and then anime) Fate/Stay Night and its prequel (written later) Fate/Zero. Go watch Fate/Zero. It's pretty great.
There are a few other "Saber" characters like Red Saber from the PSP game Fate/Extra and Saber of Red from Fate/Apocrypha. Why they are called Saber when they're not the same person will make sense once you are familiar on a basic level with the Fate "universe" (which can best be achieved by watching Fate/Zero).
Why she gets so many figures... well... Fate is a juggernaut franchise and she's kind of the poster girl.

I wouldnt go far enough to compare to titanic, but they came up with some pretty ridiculous reasons to fit them in (regenerating magical circuits)
but it was really due to the era, every VN was fitting in porn scenes for sales, they were just needed at the time

I went to IKEA last weekend and bought a couple sets of Dioder lights to finally put into my Detolf. I have had some other halogen light at the top level for the last...3 or 4 years and it never really lit the thing properly. It took nearly 4 hours to remove everything, run the wires, and clean all the dust and fingersprints off the shelves and side panels, but it's finally done:

In all seriousness, that basic description was intended to sound goofy as shit. If you boil major elements of the Fate universe down to the basics, yeah, it is really goofy on paper. Magic, genderswapped historical figures, elimination games that try hard to mask how much in common they have with pokemon, biblical relics of questionable authenticity... In context of the story, which is actually deadly serious, it makes a lot more sense and is less goofy. No kidding, give the first few episodes of Fate/Zero a try. I don't even say that in an attempt to enable you to buy Saber figures... it's just a solid show all around.
I'll stick with my scale and nendo :v

XD She's strategically placed in an attempt to minimize both life and hometown. Many of you are all aware that she crossed my personal line for display-ability, but I bought her anyway b/c she was so magnificently gorgeous. This is my "solution" to displaying her. We all still know its there, but hopefully visitors won't unless they really desire to take a close look.
It's this old Kaiyodo Bome bottle topper: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/19444. I bought it about two and a half years ago in a shop far off the main strip of Akihabara, that I'm told no longer exists by my friend who visited in November. Good luck finding her!

I'm trolling a little, though nothing I wrote in that description is wrong.
I honestly think Saber the character is absurdly popular today because she's a western-foreigner take on the yamato nadeshiko concept that was in the position to capture a lot of adolescent minds at once. She does have a great design and a great setting behind her, but the complete package isn't so amazing that she deserves the level of attention she gets today.
I do enjoy the Fate series, but that's not the same thing as asking why Saber is popular. I will echo that Fate/Zero is a pretty great TV series and worth checking out. (though Fate/Zero doesn't have much to do with why Saber is popular either...)
Well, Fate/Zero is set before FSN, so Rin is actually a child in Fate/Zero and appears in a few episodes but is not a major character. She's a major character in Stay Night (direct sequel to Zero). Unlimited Blade Works is one of the three "routes" of Stay Night that focus on Rin. After you watch Fate/Zero, you can pick up with the Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works anime, also from ufotable. First half aired at the end of last year and second half starts in a few weeks.
As for the Godoka nendo... I bought one in January and it's still not to the US yet. Thanks SAL.

I like Fate/Stay Night as well (read the VN about 5 years ago) but your mileage may vary with the anime. To start off with, the F/SN VN has 3 different routes that range pretty drastically from each other: Fate (Saber route), Unlimited Blade Works (Rin route), and Heaven's Feel (Sakura route). The 2006 anime is based on Fate with elements of the other 2 routes thrown in and it sucked and you shouldn't watch it. Unlimited Blade Works has a rushed, mediocre movie made by the same company that made the 2006 series that you should avoid as well. There is however a new series based on UBW that is made by the same company that made the Fate Zero anime and it's pretty good so far. However, as shown by the GAFers in the anime thread, people who's only experience with the Fate franchise is through the excellent Fate Zero anime tend not to like UBW or F/SN in general because it switches from focusing on a cast of 7 masters (all adults) and their servants to focusing on the adventures of a 16 year old boy and his harem (it's based on an eroge after all, which they only did so it could sell when it first came out; the sex scenes are so bad and randomly inserted, it's hilarious). You only really experience the story from his eyes unlike Fate Zero which gave all the masters their time to shine. He also starts off as a twat (he gets better, well depending on the route). Also slightly insane. The later half of the new UBW anime should resume in April. Also Heaven's Feel has no anime yet, but is getting a series of movies by the same studio as Fate Zero and UBW 2015 later this year.
