I'll echo what others are saying about Buster Sword. I got one during the first set of lucky draws and it's just a synergy stick for me. When I do use Cloud, his default limit break does more damage than Braver.

I decided to use Locke with TR in Ultimate Leblanc, my first try with the Shout RW.
A party composed like this:
Locke Lv 76 w/ the FFX gift dagger and Thief Revenge
Auron Lv 76 w/ first SB (shimmering blade)
Steiner Lv 80 w/ Ultima SB (and Ultima sword, so no sinergy)
Tyro w/ SG
Yuna w/ HofF
RW: Shout
totally cleared the Ultimate without any sweat.
It wasn't a wreckage, I had to slowly chop them off, but in no moment I felt any real pressure from the trio.
I ended the fight at full health, and lost 1 medal due to actions taken.
What really surprised me, however, was Thief Revenge; under Shout, Locke was doing 5 x 3,400 average damage per use.
Somehow, I was expecting more than that (although I know it's going above the 9999 limit, and healing at the same time). It just... didn't feel as powerful as I would expect, given that I was reading that these 5 star skills are similar to SSBs, impact-wise.
On the other hand, Steiner was solid damage, even without a RS weapon. Too bad he is now benched for Agrias.

Every RNG based game is going to be like that. It's just kind of insane because of all the mystery behind the numbers.
There is definitely some great guys at the subreddit but I understand why some would rage over getting nothing in a gamble on a highly overhyped banner.

Not that I've seen. Some of the text drops are extremely long (20+ lines), and continue on throughout the whole fight.

Gaffgarion and Wiegraf are going to be part of the Bonus battles too so they might repeat their dialogue there. You could probably just do the Argath fight for now and wait and see if you don't want to waste stamina.

Considering how much exp the final dungeon gives you, i've been running it repeatedly with the two noobs and another 2 characters. quickish way to learn any of the new sbs as well.
Bring any healer with protect/shell and a curaga. It should be enough to keep you alive, the problem is the black mages with aoe. Take them down fast.

Other than Damage (including my only two SSBs) , everything I have is outdated (HoTF and Boon) or unorthodox (Trigger Happy). Should I leave it as my RW or replace it with Trigger Happy?

I still summon both hotf and boon if they show up in my list and I'm on something other than an ultimate. I haven't used advance in ages, so I would swap that out for something else, frankly.
Re: reddit- smh at people using self selected posts as "data" and "statistics". Good gravy, why not just cite an online poll as proof positive of something while you're at it. You can write a persuasive complaint without claiming that you have something you clearly do not have.

Been playing since launch, but only really casually. I still can't beat Ultimates, but I typically can get into the early difficulty 100 stuff.
I did two 11 draws on the Tactics banner. First one netted me Agrias' Shield, a Spellbinder, and a Defense Veil (X). Second one got me the Nu Khai Armband, the black and white mage weapons, and a second Spellbinder.
That being said, hearing about all these people who have been getting these off-banner pulls is sort of shocking to me. I've played lots of gatcha games in the past, so I know that it sucks, but this many people are upset about it? Crazy.

I wonder if its more because so many people did so many extra pulls on this banner that the bad numbers of the gatcha got more exposed then normal.

I still use it, particularly since I don't have three R4 Lifesiphons.
This banner probably has the largest sample size of any banner in recent history because of all the hype surrounding it, so that doesn't help. Maybe the rates for all the previous banners are equally shit, but here we're seeing a lot more people ending up with complete garbage so that makes it seem like something is up.
Then there's the fact that they are being shady about the rates, other than saying that it was working as intended.
Either way, I really don't get why they would fuck around with what would be the most public banner of the game. It's the one time you can make people really happy by juicing the drop rates in the player's favour, reeling them in for the next year of content. As it stands, a lot of the whales are saying they won't spend any more money on the game. Whether that holds true or not is another story though, I guess.
The people is not sad because they didnt pull what they wanted. They are sad because 3% rate that was for character SBs went to off banner relics and they didnt discover it until the statistics came out. Imagine yo go to a casino and discover they rigged the rulette so it will fall more naturally into 0. You would be mad right?.
Yea, that's where I'm at. It's a shady practice that I can't support. I got basically what I wanted but it still rubbed me the wrong way.
I'm voting with my wallet though.No more 100 gem pulls until they can show at least the same amount of transparency they are forced to show in Japan.

Except you aren't netting zero. A five star relic is still a five star relic regardless of which series it's from. If there was a large number of people complaining about not getting any 5 star relics from multiple 11 pulls, then there would be a different issue here, but people are being entitled crybabies because they didn't get that Platinum Sword they've been lusting after.
I really toned down how much I played when the first XIII event came out because I had multiple (I think 5 in a row) 11 pulls that had zero 5 star relics. My girlfriend was pulling them left and right, but I stopped for a while because I felt like I was getting hosed. My luck has turned around pretty drastically over the last couple of months (pulled Cloud's BSB on my first pull) but the fact remains that people are still getting items, just not the ones they really wanted.
Today one guy at reddit said he was not using more gems, he was wasting hundreds EACH BANNER to have every relic in the game. If a couple of those stoo spending DeNA will get the message.
Again, this is not for the items, its because they changed the rates to make people spend more. If I know I have a 4% of generics fine, but they hide it, its the first time they rigged the rates like this. Until now the rates were basically the same as Japan, and they started to do it in one of the best banner ever released.
Heck Im complaining and I got Platinum Sword first pull.

While I finally have a team with a damaging SSB (Cecil) and support SSB (Garnet), I still use Advantaliate often; whenever I want to blaze through a dungeon or need to slot in specific characters for medals and can just have them wack the retaliator.

You're playing a game where people already accept that they'll get screwed most of the time. It's a huge in-joke in the community. People are mostly good natured about it (look at the rngesus statue or those cool comics on the subreddit). People are spending small fortunes (literally hundreds of dollars) on this banner based on trust and getting total junk in return. It's been shown that the average price to "beat the odds" nearly doubled because of this decision. People get pissed when you mess with their money.
The backlash is well deserved.
Looking ahead at future banners, we're probably not getting the Dissidia collab banners in global, right? I feel like there's a chance we might get them much later instead, if that game comes to PS4 later in 2016 or 2017, but not in the same order that JP got them. The FFV collab banners are also unlikely, as are the FFI/Mobius collab banners, since as far as I know the FF Mobius game isn't even announced for global yet. Altogether that is about a month's worth of banners which should bring other banners to us a bit faster.
My current plan is to start saving for BSB fest, then Yshtola's SSB banner after that.

I think we will get dissidia. The game is from SE so no license problems, and the franchise already had 2 games so is well enough known by the FF fans.

I have a natural trinity and a pretty good version too. I could RW Shout if I want. FFT Relics was more luxury than anything else.
DENA being anti consumer, now that's another story. The bait and switch that they did with the rates is very under handed and their fans should not take it lightly cause all that causes is more Anti consumer and under handed crap. I'm glad Reddit is calling them out on this crap. Even if they do nothing for FFT banner, they might think twice before pulling this bull again.

Finally hit 50 mythril this morning after clearing some normal dungeons that I've been super behind on, and did a 11 pull on the Tactics banner (after seeing exactly how crazy good Shout was). Got 2 5*, and was really crossing my fingers they'd end up being good, but it was just a FFT dagger and FFVI fist weapon, both with no SB.
Ah well, I was super satisfied with my Banner 4 pulls, and overall the hones that I was able to get, so I'm still riding that high.
What I'm more bummed about is that it seems like nobody else on my following list was able to get lucky with Shout either. I was hoping to have a slew of RW's to choose from.
Damn what a gamechanger Shout can be though. My nearly full health Locke was pulling off 8k per hit with his Valiant Knife Soul Break in a FFV realm with no synergy.
Ah well, I was super satisfied with my Banner 4 pulls, and overall the hones that I was able to get, so I'm still riding that high.

Watching Ultimate videos post Shout-meta, I kinda feel better with my unoptimized team, otherwise it would be too difficult for people with bad drawing luck.

DeNA's response where they specifically say that there was no "significant" change to drop rates for this banner compared to previous banners combined with astronomical amounts of off-banner relics being reported makes this shady as fuck, and I'm not even doing my 100-gem pulls anymore until we get full disclosure on item drop rates like Japan has now. This is all being amplified by reddit's pent up demand for this banner and I'm sure biased reporting is happening to some extent, but even looking at just GAF there is an incredibly unusual high amount of off-banner items getting pulled here. I don't buy into conspiracy type stuff usually but that combined with DeNA's ridiculous careful phrasing I think something's up here. Whether or not it's intentional or just another global fuckup of some kind is debatable, but I don't buy it. Very disappointing. I'll certainly keep playing it, but they're not getting any more of my money until we get further transparency.
