Maybe by the time this comes out on PC Ill be willing to try it.

I was buttmad that Type 0 never got localized on PSP, then never came out on Vita but PS4 and such.

Since I really only play on my PC now, maybe I will give it a shot.

Yes!!!!

aww come on seriously? can we just get a better camera patch and the option to at the very least just reduce motion blur(i'd prefer to turn it off) on consoles, please square enix?

And they're still not patching the fucking camera glitch from the console version they tricked people into buying.

Never buying another SE game on consoles if I can help it.

It will probably launch during Steam sale opening day 40% off and it will be a bad port too (this is my bet).
For Ground Zeroes doing a similar thing worked well.

Simply because they already sold FFX/X-2 Remastered (and from what I read not too much time ago, it didn't sold well too, around 160k copies in Japan when launched), while they still need to sell FFXV so they can gather fan feedback and create a product they would buy (it's not an excuse, of course, only what is happening, very similar on what happen with betas).

Yes it is, I was referring only to the marketing tactic, not the quality of the port itself (placing it during the opening day on a sale, with a heavy discount).
Wut? 160K is a pretty good number.

If they improve the camera for the Steam release, I sure as heck hope that they'll patch the console version too. It's borderline unplayable there. Demanding fullprice for that POS was a sick joke.

To all the whiners about the camera blur:

Your eyes get used to it after a while and you don't spin the camera when you get good at playing anyway, you target things to quick turn.

I'm not saying that it wouldn't be better off without it, but the game is obviously playable. This isn't as bad as the people crying about chromatic aberration in Bloodborne, but don't pretend it's a bug or glitch.

too-late edit: if you actually got sick I apologize, you're not actually a whiner.

Thanks for telling me how much these things should affect me. I'll remember it in the future

Fuck off with this. The motion blur in this is terrible and gives me a horrible headaches. I don't need to get used to it. Just because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean it's going to be the same for everybody. It is NOT playable for me. I do NOT get used to it, and it should be toned down or an option to be turned off.

:O ME WANT. Possible PC version of FFXV and KHIII more likely lol? If KHIII comes to PC, then I honestly probably going to skip out on PS4 and focus on PC.XD

I wouldn't say we're being excessive in our complaints, the screenshots I posted on Page 2 clearly demonstrate how strong the motion-blur is, and whilst that is just me spinning the camera around to screenshot it, whilst playing I do get some nausea whilst playing and I'm not the only one in the thread. It's enough of a complaint that it is perhaps indirectly mentioned here;
CFhLX1P.jpg

The game is playable with it, but some of us are put off by it to a point where it's noticeable and, just like some people find <30fps drops problematic and in this instance, the strong blur is wholly apparent whilst playing to many of us and it puts us off.
A simple tweak to strength of even the ability to disable the blur itself would fix the issue and I wouldn't have any issue (other than control sensitivity) in progressing through the game, but it is warranted in its complaint.

FFX HD sold plenty well. They don't need to be patching a demo for a game more than a year away over fixing stuff that's already done and out. Most people realize that demos are unfinished - at least I hope they do - and not representative of the final game so far out from release. The trophy, music and RNG glitches in FFX HD are really something that should be fixed.

The motion blur in Type-0 HD is another example. I personally got used to it after a while but it's clear many other people didn't and stopped playing the game because of it and that's a problem for SE because word of mouth can stunt prolonged sales.

I always liked the way the combat in this looked, but I have no idea how it actually plays. Very interested in this.

I'm curious, does anyone know how the original PSP game and the console releases did in their markets? I didn't really hear anyone talk about this when it came out, so I guess it didn't set the world on fire or anything?

Also, I'm guessing it's their own custom engine?

Japanese sales:

[PSP] Final Fantasy Type-0 (Square Enix) - 728,270
[PS4] Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (Square Enix) - 126,650

Type-0 wasn't released internationally on its original platform. The home console version has shipped 1 million units globally, though it's widely believed that sell through is likely around half of that.

yep. I stopped playing Type0 HD just because of the motion blur.

Are you serious SE !?

It made my friend throw up. Literally.

Has never happened with any other game (she plays Mirror's Edge often, and that game has caused vertigo for a few people).

It's inexcusable. Don't excuse it.

It sucks that I'm 0/2 on these Final Fantasy remakes so far and it feels like Square is just never going to patch it. Type-0's camera starts to make me feel sick after about an hour or 2 of playing, and it especially was bad in the school more than anything, battles weren't so bad. It wasn't even like the game looked bad to where they needed to do that, it looked fine. Stopped playing a bit into Chapter 3 just because I couldn't take it anymore.

With FFX, I stopped at the Lord Ochu due to the RNG issues. Every battle with Ochu, no matter what I do before the fight to try and offset it, ends up with the same result and the same items. I've always played FFX by fighting and reseting at Ochu until I get the 2X HP Sphere, but that has literally become impossible for me in this version no matter what I try.

The worst part of it all is now Square clearly knows that the camera in type-0 is terrible from the slides they showed today about the PC version. Why can't they just go and turn off the blur for the PS4 owners? I have a PC more than capable of running type-0, but I just don't even feel like wanting to get it at this point due to them not even patching the PS4 version.

Seriously, I can't believe someone actually defended it, calling us whiners. It's cool if you got used to it, but I'm out of 60$ cause I don't want to play a game where I have to only play 30 minutes at a time or I'm looking at having a fun time puking. It's cool if you got used to it, just please don't act like it isn't an issue.

I'm not sure how much more the camera can be improved honestly. At this point I believe it's not just the camera but the entire way the game is designed. Playing the PSP demo way back gave me a serious headache, so much so that I didn't get the game when it was released even though I was previously excited for it. When they showed the HD version, they improved the camera and pulled it back, and I thought they would fix the problem, but I watched more and more of the gameplay videos and I got a headache from many of them too. Something about the gameplay and the motion on the screen just doesn't work for the view they're going for. Trying to focus on the player character just makes me feel ill.

Eh.

It's an awful remaster on PS4/XBO and they oversold the work they did on those versions. I'll be surprised if this even runs well.

I am so fucking done buying square enix HD remasters when they originally launch

First I was burned by X/X-2 on PS2, now this

I dunno, man. It bothered me for the first hour I played it, then my eyes adapted to looking at places on the screen that weren't blurry, and then my gameplaying improved so that I wasn't spinning the camera like a maniac, because that's not the optimal way to play anyway.

It's like going for a car ride - if you stare out the side windows at close objects you're going to get motion sickness, but you quickly learn to settle your eyes on objects that don't induce this.

I find it really hard to believe that your friend "literally threw up" when they could have looked away or stopped playing any number of times if they truly felt nauseous. There's a period of time that has to pass between the feeling of nausea and vomiting, it isn't like the TV screen was inescapable or she experienced it with a Rift strapped to her head.

I don't doubt that there are some really sensitive individuals whose eyes can't take it, but there are a lot of people who blow things way out of proportion (see: chromatic aberration in Bloodborne) where any nitpick is immediately UNPLAYABLE NEEDS A PATCH. For you, maybe, but not for hundreds of thousands of other people.

For people not throwing up, you have a fairly high chance of it becoming a total non-issue within a few hours of playing. Of course all of this means jack shit now that it's coming to PC with improvements...

It really pisses me off that this game still hasn't been patched yet. If they are patching it, I'm curious if it will be included with the FFXV Episode Duscae 2.0 update later on this month?

Nice backpedaling.

I'll change it to "To the whiners who aren't experiencing motion sickness but are just being purists.".

Because there's a clear difference in an intentional feature being unwanted, and a bug or glitch, which is never intentional, and the camera blur was being referred to as a bug/glitch. It's not.

Tens to hundreds of thousands of people found the game playable, a small subset apparently actually got sick. Everywhere else I've seen this game discussed someone ALWAYS brings up the camera, and they're ALWAYS replied to with "Your eyes get used to it."

YMMV depending on your eyesight, I guess. I get migraines and wear glasses and my shitty eyes adjusted. Sorry if I offended anyone.

You've never met anyone with motion sickness, have you?

Something like the bad blur in the camera can easily set people off. It is a very real issue and needs to be patched. Instead, Square Enix just looks to make money elsewhere.

Yeah, I don't understand that mindset of "Get Used to it".

I'll continue to celebrate games that go out of their way for colorblind players, or allowing disabled gamers to remap buttons, or features that allow the visually impaired to zoom in on tiny text, or ANYTHING a game does that makes the experience better for others.

I don't suffer from motion sickness like my friend does... but the motion blur still gives me a headache after long sessions. It needs to be fixed.
