I still think "Two Discs One Cloud" is a better OT title

I played this the year after BG3 and one thing I disliked that I loved about BG3 is that the game doesn't just let you roam and find things. Everything is tethered to the one shall not be named (Chadley). I remember getting out of the first city and being like "Right. Time to explore this open world." Nope. You can travel to different locations, but they aren't open or even acknowledgeable until you meet and go through Chadley process. I was gutted. I still overall enjoyed most of the side content, but I really wish they would allow the player to just explore and come across things on their own with more varied content. I want to come across a location and NOT know what it's for and what to do there so I can explore and be like, "Oh damn, I just unlocked a summon." BG3 did that so well. No matter where in the world you went there was some unique experience to be had. Surprisingly Dragon Quest 3 Remake does this quite well (at least for the first half or so).I'm diving back into this after a looong hiatus. I just fell off because the amount of content felt too overwhelming! Not a bad thing per se but I wasn't in the mood for such a lengthy game because I was in the middle of Baldurs Gate 3 (for some reason I bought FF7 Rebirth at launch despite knowing this).
I have somehow managed to avoid getting spoiled for over a year, thank god. I know it deviates from the original, though. Gonna be interesting to see what happens. Right now my best guess is
Tifa will be the one to get shishkebab'd by Sephiroth instead of Aeris
but I hope they thought up something less predictable.
Oh yeah, I completely forgot how much this game oozes high production value, it's kinda crazy how it's impact isn't more widely acknowledged.
Edit: Is the spoiler function broken? Doesn't seem to show up for some reason
Edit2: Nvm, works now
For real. So many games have this issue. I remember 16 had this issue particularly in that town in the wooden area. The gamma issue this game has when you get close to a building drives me insane! Can't believe they never fixed this it goes from bright to dark to bright like a switch is being turned on and off and its so jarring and distracting.
Hurry up and reveal the final game already ;(
Yeah Rebirth title reveal and teaser was shown in June 2022, so about 1.5 years before release.I think you will get a Title reveal soonish... maybe at some event around when E3 would have been.

I think if they are keeping it to UE4 then the final game is gonna be a late 2027 game targeting the FF7 30th Anniversary.
I'm in the Gongaga region now. Done with the story events, but staying there to finish up side stuff.
Some of the things they have you do are pretty tedious. And that's a feeling that I am getting more and more. I play at max for 40 minutes at a time. Can't say that I dislike the game, but it it is overstaying its welcome. How much of the game do I have left?
I hope they reconsider the world and game design for part three.
The game would be better if they just forced you to do more story stuff in the areas including battles and the mini bosses they use in the side quest .I'm in the Gongaga region now. Done with the story events, but staying there to finish up side stuff.

Time to mainline. There are some tedious side stuff events in the game. Like kid g and others. I really just started doing only the side stuff that interested me. The large monster battle and the summons.I'm in the Gongaga region now. Done with the story events, but staying there to finish up side stuff.

Oh, come. That mini-game with Cait Sith in the mansion was amazing.I got the platinum for Rebirth and it is one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Felt like a Ubisoft game, just slightly better and Rebirth enjoys wasting your time way too much. Shitty side content to pad crappy story changes, and the mini games are some of the worst shit ever (except Fort Condor). Cait Sith fucking sucks as well and forcing you to play with him is the dumbest thing ever.
They really are committed to fucking up the story as much as they possibly can. I guess if you never played the actual Final Fantasy VII then it's the Remake games are probably fine but damn Square Enix has lost all creativity.
P.S. Fuck Chadley
