I don't think we'll ever see the return of turn-based combat in a future Final Fantasy game.
Combat system aside, I wouldn't mind. The game is buggy as hell, after all.
Plus, an unaltered version with ancient gameplay systems exists already.
I want to see HD Tifa and Aerith, where TF are they Nomura??? Are you really saying the earliest i have to wait is E3??
Action based? That's not FFVII. What a shitty design decision by them.

Here for it. Can't wait to use Tifa, Yuffie and Vincent in the new gameplay system.

I hope they bring back the DMW for actiony exciting, tense will it or will it not happen level ups, summons, materia growth, and flashbacks!Lol i doubt it will play like that if crisis core is any indication. That game had a boring combat. Also coming from CC2, we'll have a lot of qte.
You do know CC2 isnt making the decisions on the Remake right, thats nomura and his team, CC2 isnt the only ones helping with the remakes development, they were name dropped because they are the more well known, also isnt mitsunori takahashi handling the combat design of the game, he was involved with KH and directed Dissidia 012, it also wont play like CC either since that game is all on tabata and his teamLol i doubt it will play like that if crisis core is any indication. That game had a boring combat. Yeah, this is not FF7, this is FF7 Remake. So they never promised you FF7 in the first place.
Seriously guys, i said it from day one. if your too attached to your own specific version of FF7, don't even bother playing the new game, your gonna be disappointed because they didn't do what you wanted.
I just want the devs to do what they want with the game quite honestly. I don't think the devs should care about adhering to nostalgia addled fan demands as opposed to making a game in the modern era how they want to make it.
They have the right to do that and be give the benefit of a doubt about it, you can always play the 1997 original.

Could be a buncha newbs brought into japanese games / rpgs via Souls crap an want the remake of one of the hypest games ever ta fit the only style of game they know!Is it a millennial thing to keep saying turn based wasn't part of what embodied the whole package of FF7?
I'm a day 1'er! I always wanted for this ta be, gameplay-wise, the REmake of its generation. Keep the base gameplay, pretty everything up, add newThis just isn't a comment that seems to be from an actual fan that was there for day 1 in 1997.

Does that matter...?
It matters when someone has zero regard for the combat that made FF7 an excellent jrpg.
HahahahahahaThis just isn't a comment that seems to be from an actual fan that was there for day 1 in 1997.
...in 1997.
Well they shouldn't be surprised then when/if the game bombs.
A true fan wouldn't say that.
A true fan wouldn't say that.
Funny, all I'm stating is how I personally believe those who loved FF7 day 1 in 1997 would most likely crave to experience it again except prettier and shinier and not be happy with them ditching the classic combat system.
The game will bomb because a minority of people want to cry about the game not being turn based? Yeah, sure thing

Well you need to toughen up, it's just words on a screen and a simple opinion that you can disagree with
No, that would be a bit more reasonable. Instead you're sitting there deciding who is and isn't a 'true' fan (whatever that is) based on your arbritrary criteria. Very un-Dude like.
Well, there's many reasons it might bomb, and I'm not saying it will bomb, but that if it does they shouldn't be surprised after changing up a fundamental aspect of the game just because.

No, I said on my opinion a true fan wouldn't disregard the classic turn based combat for one of the most pivotal jrpgs in history that did turn based very well. I'm not deciding anything, but I still believe what I said.
I feel a modern day fan that came into the game later in life is swayed a lot easier in seeing turn based combat ditched.
You're reading comments and then proclaiming whether they're written by a 'true fan'. It's pretty childish.
I played it around '98ish and I think you're being a bit silly.
And I think you're being way to sensitive
