Who wants to do Chains of Promathia?

Chocobro and I both need it. Vanas needs it too but he doesn't have a 75 yet.

I can help out with anything when I'm on, unless we have another event going on. As for Vanas, don't really need level 75 for most of the beginning stuff. For a while at least everything is capped pretty low.

Although I hate to say wait.. but I believe they are changing the level caps for those areas soon, they were kind of annoying to do before, so it may become easier when they up the level caps.

Before I forget, I wanted to ask if there is a decent way of making money in this game now? Is there a good reliable way without doing BCNM's? I remember farming Goobue's, Crawlers, fishing,was wondering if thatwas still viable.

For anyone that still needs a pearl, it's probably the best that when you log on just add a few of us to your friend list so it's easier to track who is on. Unless I am wrong, I am fairly sure you can add an offline player to your friend list. Just do /befriend add <name>

Lvl 65+ with Rank 6 are welcome to join us. We sell the single drops and pay the person who bought the hourglass and split the rest of the leftover money afterwards.


Also, it seems like Alexander server has all northland areas except for Throne Room and they're able to do the bcnm against Shadow Lord. Some JP player already has NightFall and another NA group were able to beat it as well. I read that you need the last medal to enter the bcnm. We should totally do this if we ever get the campaign areas.

Anyway, I just reached Bastok, so if you end up wanting some assistance, I'm down for whatever you want to do. Plus, I figure I haven't done any Bastok quests on this character yet, anyhow, so I can re-catch-up on some of those.

Sorry to everyone who offered to play with me and help me get going with my low-level character. I haven't actually played since the first day I played last week (thursday?). Been trying to finish up Resonance of Fate and didn't find time for more FFXI sessions. I'm trying to finish RoF up this week so I won't be playing anything else, and then I'll have some time to focus on FFXI in the evenings/weekends.

It'll never make you rich, but running a campaign or two a day will usually pay for food and any consumables except ammo.

I'm still willing, whenever works for you... I mostly work nights, but I'm available after 5pm (MST) on the weekend, and I have Tuesdays & Thursdays off entirely, so either of those work perfect.

Not to sound like I don't have anything better to do, but I know just how daunting this game can be to start, and I like helping people have an easier time getting into it. So really, I'm up for anything -- quests, missions, simple heal-bitch leveling assistance, explaining the basics, subjob quest, or even just escorting you on supply quests or gathering crag crystals (teleportation items) -- as any of that can help a bunch, or just be flat-out real freaking boring by yourself. Plus, I figure there's been dozens of people that have helped me in the past, so I like to return the favor.

I think there are several in our LS that already do Sky runs but I dont think its anything too organized or scheduled.

Ive helped on a couple occassions after Limbus. A lot of the guys from Peaceful Rain help too.

If you get something going though let me know Id be glad to help. Im not real familiar as to what would be in it for me in the way of drops but that doesnt matter Id still be glad to help.

# Head to Western Altepa Desert. Here you will need to open the Altepa Gate.
# Once in Quicksand Caves go to I-6 on the map to the right and click the ??? to spawn the NM named Girtablulu. On the way there, you may encounter an Antican Praetor that hears through sneak at the 4-way intersection. Wait for that antica to move to the far southwest corner of that room before heading north.
# Girtablulu causes high damage when it connects. Uses Wild Rage and Earth Pounder like other Scorpion, which can cause high damage. Wild Rage can do about 400-600 damage.
# Girtablulu's use of Death Scissors can do upwards of 1000 damage on a well-equipped level 75 Paladin. It may be best to bring a blink tank.
# Once the NM is dead, re-examine the ??? to obtain the Annals of Truth (key item).

* Only one character from a party will need to spawn Girtablulu for the whole party that defeated it to get the Key Item.

Got invited to an Astral Burn PT in Korroloka tunnel last night. went from level 12-21 in 2 minutes.

So I ordered a Security Token. March 29th the order was confirmed.

It is now April 22nd, still no token. Even though my friend ordered one on the same day and got theirs last week.

I called S-E they told me to wait and talked to me like I was dumb.... Called them again the week after they said they would ship me out another token as the one that was originally sent was probably lost/stolen in the mail. (they don't send it with tracking only by regular mail..... yeah). They say they will email me to confirm. Still have yet to receive this confirmation of another token being sent.

Promptly canceled my Content IDs.

Hopefully they get their act together for FFXIV.

I got mine in 5 days, also they ship it with USPS (no priority mail) also depends on the area you're in.

To make a long story short, I recently bought the PC version and installed on computer. Ok when I get to the payment part, thats where all the lovely problems start. Apparently, my bank card is not verified or secure. It wont let me sign up. WTF?!

I was thinking to maybe buying those prepaid cards, but i checked online and seems that it doesnt work either. I think im SOL. Its too bad cause I wanted to play it again.

Are there any pc players using a pre paid card? How can I get around this!?

One more attack would have killed it, but it killed me just before I could get off my last attack. Then on the way back, two goblins attacked me and killed me before I could get back to it.

Get a refund imo if you can't use your credit card, maybe ask a relative if you can pay them to charge it or something. It's stupid that they even started this crap last year.


Sylph got the 2 castles this week. First time we went at Shadow Lord we wiped at 50%, went back 2 more times and won. Both times he dropped freakin necklace and 1 time the Reign Grip. Gonna try to use all my ops before we lose the 2 zones.

If you still have the PS2 copy, or can borrow a 360 copy, you can register an account using the PC codes on there. It's not compatible with VbV/SecureCode so it doesn't force verification.

Why is getting Beastmaster a bad idea?

Beastmaster is a solo job or in small groups, I don't recommend it unless you plan on doing nothing but solo or bcnm's. You won't be able to finish some missions as Beastmaster. I suggest sticking with DD or go mage.

Just my opinion tho, maybe someone who's lvled BM can shed some light, like Danicolas Patrick.

Because BSTs have to rely on charming outside pets for maximum efficiency, there'll be a lot of times where BSTs simply don't have access to their full potential. Jugpets are a possibility but they aren't nearly as strong as charming an EM mob to fight with you.

meh I was in a primarily BST LS on Midgardsormr (R.I.P.) and the guys in there were a huge help in progressing me through the game.

Having said that, I never beat COP or Zilart as it was more of a social LS.

BST is fun, I've always looked at BST somewhat differently than other jobs in FFXI. For all the other jobs, the 'fun' starts at 75 when you can do events and other exciting stuff. Leveling to 75 itself isn't much fun, BST is the other way around for me. I enjoy leveling it more than I'll actually use it at 75.

You might wanna take a look at the retarded amazon/ebay prices before even considering that. The collection is out of print and some people thought it would be a good idea to jack up the price for no good reason.
