Well, suppose it will be nice when working on the sub job thing and other classes. I'd probably be close to 30 by now I'm sure.

Initially I was a bit miffed but then I realized I can use it when levelling other jobs so it isn't such a big deal. Plus levelling is a lot faster now anyways.

Wanna hear a good joke? Waste your time helping me! LOL!
Just started up on Sylph in Bastok. Have zero clue what's going on, just running around trying to get a spell or something.

Character name is Tuppepe.

Ahh, sorry about that, I had to log off.

I'm thinking about starting over in the medieval style kingdom, a buddy of mine said it's usually more populated/less confusing than the other starting areas.

Bastok is a good place to start. That's where I started. I rather like the layout too.

Friend is right. Sandoria tends to be the most noob friendly. Probably no more stating players than other zones, but the monsters outside the city are more convenient to get to.

Agreed.

My friend wanted me to ask people in this thread. He have been hestistated for few years, and Geomancer and Rune Fencer got confirmed. He's hardcore fan of Geomancer, so he finally decided to jump on the bandwagon. A problem is that he can't find any new FFXI in stock, so he want to know where he could find the codes from the Internet. However, he bought used copy of FFXI ultimate collection for XBOX360, but he want to buy the codes from somewhere.

Ah ha! Hype got to you, eh! You can find a torrent with all the base data extracted somewhere. I grabbed it a few years ago when i was in japan because I didn't have my discs. I don't know if it's still being seeded though.

Blue Garter forums used to have a files thread with all update files for easier updates. No clue if they still update the thread.

Anyone have any tips on obtaining Iron Plates for an Ochain?

nEWy0.jpg

Honestly, there's no good way. Try to do the Voidwatch NM's in sky when you can as they can drop pouches which can contain up to 15 plates, where other mobs MIGHT only drop 1. They're easy enough that mos pickup groups can take them, so watch for shouts. If you do a pickup group and have the gil, you might want to mention to the group that you'll buy plates immediately and can sometimes get away with offering to buy right away at a slightly lower than market price.

Buy a pc copy (ultimate abbyssea edition) and then setup his POL and SE accounts with those codes then login and install using the 360 disc on his xbox.

So Online store email the codes to the buyer if they purchased the game?

Edited: I checked the internet stores and I only see that they offered digital download, so I want to make sure that they would email us the codes afterward. Please let me know soon.. Thank in advance.

When does the Steam sale start? Anyone think this will be in there? I know it's only $20, but it would be nice to save a little bit if possible!

After a frustrating raid in World of Warcraft, where it's clear half the people don't give a shit anymore, FFXI seems so peaceful....

In a way, I almost regret leaving this game and my higher level toons.

Apparently I'll be having a few Arch Dynamis Lord runs soon with this shell I'm in. Well, the next few days. I'd certainly like a Sagasinger.

I actually don't know the reference.

Before I temporarily quit, I was in the process of unlocking sky for a few reasons. I suppose I should just go focus on that. Thanks for the advice.

Ugh, Ochain. That and Aegis are huge reminds of how the enmity system is so borked in FFXI right now.

Yeah, did you know that if a pet dies while tanking, enmity resets? Not even sure why.

You're talking heavy metal plates, I don't think he's that far yet.

Grauberg and Altepa have the easiest iron giants to deal with.

Ah, yeah I'm on the first part. I attempted soloing the one in Altepa on BST, but that just wasn't happening. I suppose I'll try Grauberg sometime.

Is it me, or does Spirit Link no longer take away my health?

-edit-

It finally absorbed health after the 7th Spirit Link. Not sure why it wasn't absorbing.

I haven't checked. I died in the highlands and haven't gotten back out there. Doing FoVs in Gusta.

If you want to check without going all the way there, open the menu, click "Search", click "Area", scroll down and click "Zulkheim", and scroll down and click "Gusgen Mines".

If you see a row of people there and their levels are 10-30, people are partying there. I'd escort you there myself but I'm on a different server.

Gusgen Mines isn't even on the list. Probably because I haven't been there. I'll grab the next healing spell and head out that way.

A world search for people 10-30 does show people in Gusgens, at any rate. :O AWAY I GO

Oh that's cute, I made it to the Gusgen Mines only to find three "Incredibly Tough" Ghouls.... Naturally I booked it out of there asap.

Hit lvl 11 however I did most of the Sandy quests which was most of my time spent on tonight's venture. I have a few quests that take me out to go kill some stuff but beyond that, I'm not sure where else to go for leveling. I'll ask around tomorrow when I get the time in. Very happy with this game and can't wait to get to higher level stuff and get my sub job going. And fuck, hurry up SE with that hat! I neeeed it!

Didn't grt around to logging back on last night. I plan on starting a new character today so I can get out of Bostok. I'll start looking around for you guys.

Started as a red mage on my first character. Considering specializing into a black mage for now instead.

I'm already level 22 as a White Mage, gotta get that Subjob quest done now. That was an amazing party/alliance in the Gusgen Mines.

If you're still hanging out in the mines, make sure you cure bomb the skeletons. It'll give faster healing magic skill ups, which is actually important now.

So if I have NO idea what jobs I want to play, Hume is my best bet, right? Or do stats on race really have no impact later on? All the jobs look like they'd be fun to play at one point or another, and I'd hate to pick one race just to find out that I'm gimpy as shit with certain jobs.
