I can go up there with you and show you around. Basically you need to hit the pincerstones to move between islands. If you're using the divine might teleports and getting stuck in a loop, you're using the wrong ports.

There are just too many teleporters. I HATE teleport dungeons. Teleport dungeons are the worst and laziest type of level design.

Ever been to the Sacrarium?
It's not quite lazy, but good luck navigating that without an online map to figure out which walls are up or down and when. And was once capped at level 50 to boot.

I hate to admit it, but the recent news letter has me thinking about coming back. I've been away for a long time but it might be worth subbing for a few months to relive old memories.

Just noticed that Dusty Wing is a temporary item (according to FFXIclopedia.) Is there a non-temp version, or did you mean Icarus Wing?

Yeah Icarus wing. It gives 100tp and a medicated effect, so you can only use one every few hours or so before it wears off.

You just follow the right wall.

It's not really a "teleport dungeon" in the sense you're thinking. The paths are really straightforward. This isn't an SMT3/DDS labyrinth.

Alright, so I finally downloaded the game! I forgot how horrible PlayOnline is, it took me forever to finally get it all to work and register.

How do I link my playonline and SE account? I went to the "Transferring PlayOnline IDs" page, but all I get is the error "This PlayID can't be transferred"?

Guys. This is important and everyone should do it to make their lives infinitely easier in Abyssea.

http://www.playonline.com/ff11us/campaign/11th/abyssea.html

It's like an abyssea stimulus pack, and it's a GREAT way to kickstart things in there. I just looked at the list, and it's like every single really worthwhile atma there is except for apocalypse. You also get cruor and a free lunar abyssite to equip the atma. It's a wonderful head start. So make sure you log in and collect this even if you're not super active.

I honestly don't remember, but the SE help page should have a link with step by step instructions.

Also are you on sylph? I'll get you a pearl. Talk to me, Aurellius, or Seigyoku or Chocobro for one.

Cool, I'll creat a new player on Sylph.

Also, how the hell do i get macro to work w/o going through the menus. My triggers and bumpers don't seem to work on the 360 controller, but all other buttons do since i configured them.

SInce I want to be a Blue Mage what is the best starting class? Warrior BLM?

360 controller doesn't work that well with the game. It doesn't like analog triggers, so use the L1/R1 for macros and go without an autorun or hide menus or take screenshot button. You can do all those with the keyboard if necessary. I use a logitech controller with the dinput/xinput toggle.

Common BLU subs are war, rdm, pld, dnc depending on situation. Expect to do a lot of dabbling as you feel your way around for the first time. Also read the OP, there is a wealth of valuable information there.-

I'm thinking of reactivating my account, but i'm on a different server thinking of going to sylph.
How active is the LS there and what kind of content do you guys do?

I haven't played for long so don't know the process of switching servers do get all my stuff if i switch servers?

Active. For now, the only events are weekly abyssea runs for various things on Tuesdays. Besides that it's mostly a social. If you had something you wanted to get going though I'm sure you could start it.

Make sure you don't have anything in your dbox before transferring and you'll keep everything. Anything in the dbox will be lost.

I've heard SE is trying to do away with armor macroing and streamlining armor stats so it isn't a constant switch during battle?

Any truth to this?

New bayld weapons are garbage. don't buy any. Smn ammo and pup ammo are worth it if you're not able to get an alternator or the delve sachet yet.

Planning to finish my skirmish pop sometime this week. Please make sure you have the teleport to rala and cirdas (especially cirdas) if you want to get in on these ever.

Higher Torso tiers increase the amount of drops you get. Tier I gets you one weapon drop while tier V gets you five.

Two is the minimum actually. But we should spam T1-2 until we get a little better at it. When we can clear consistently with more than a minute left, it'll be worth risking the purchase of a higher tier.

I think we're only a few lucky weapon drops away from that though. If atkasha drops a stone or 2 on that crobaci and we get grahf up and running with an iclamar with a good augment, I think we'll be ready to tackle cirdas for some of the other stuff folks want.

If it helps any, iclamar has a pretty good drop rate.

Got a dmg +22, STR +8, and Dex +2 augment from a +2 Ghastly Stone. Cost me quite a bit of gil because of a rather embarrassing mistake, but that's neither here nor there....

Ok then seems they won't be coming back to XI so i guess i'm good to transfer.

does everyone here have the SOA expansion? I don't have it yet wondering if that would be a problem.

Hopefully we can get another skirmish or 2 going today. Do you guys mind splitting the cost of similacrum 6 ways? Would like to do another low tier rala run or 2.

I think most of us have it at this point, but we still do plenty of stuff outside of Adoulin.

I'm game for that, I could actually use the Katana, and the cost shouldn't be too bad if it's split 6 ways.

I don't care to help split the cost. I'll try to get on in a few hours. I've got two Rala Heads, so there's two pieces we don't need to buy.

I have another torso I already. Just need some feet. I have Einherjar and Meebles today, but after that I can do a run.

I get out of work at 10 pm today and it takes me about a half hour to get home; don't know if that works for you guys. But here's what I have for reference in case:

Rala Visage I
Rala Visage V
Cirdas Visage I
Faithful's Torso I
Faithful's Leggings I

So basically, I have a set ready for either cirdas or rala ready to go in addition to whatever you guys can get together.

if we do cirdas we should try and grab a high tier torso after doing a test run. I'd like to make sure we have the heavy dd's outfitted with stuff from rala first though.

Beat WAR Maat in one try, with a bit of luck. No Opo-opo necklace, no Icarus Wings, just 11 hi-potions, and a lucky dodge of One Inch Punch. Should I try a trip to Abyssea to get to 75, or am I still too low? (I've already got 350+ traverser stones banked.)

Congrats! Even if you do go into Abyssea you might not have enough cruor to activate Fluxes or buy items/armor/enhancements/infusions. If you get into a party it should sort that out pretty quickly, though. I might be on later tonight to give you a hand and show you where to go.

You'll probably want to head in for the first time with an escort to get you a few important teleports and a modicum of cruor. Make sure to take advantage of the Abyssea promotion in August because you'll benefit from it QUITE a bit being a new player and all.

It took me about half a dozen tries over a month to beat Maat on WAR.

So, skirmish is pretty easy if you bring a balanced party setup, play conservatively, and plan out a path to take ahead of time. 1-2 heavy DD, 2-3 self sufficient DD, and 2 support works well. BLU and DNC make excellent support classes. RUN excels in Cirdas because of the elemental spike damage they can put out on Umbrils. With the new elemental magic changes I can see a rdm working well as a second support as well.

Chocobro, Grahf, Talym, Atkasha, GC, and Myself went in and cleaned house last night in Rala and Cirdas. We have some more Cirdas to do, but we got a lot done.

Yeah, I had a lot of fun in both Rala and Cirdas, and I think that we all got stuff that made it worthwhile on top of that. Definitely looking forward to more runs - hopefully get a Ghastly Stone +2 to really boost my dagger stats.
