So I was apparently just misinformed when I went to buy this yesterday. I got the whole "If it's not back there then we don't have it" in spite of K-mart doing a godawful job of actually sorting out their game section, I couldn't tell if it was just buried in with something else. Turns out that was the case when I went back for some stuff today and decided to check again :|
Really should have asked them to check their stock in the system or w/e instead of just going with what they told me at first.

I really had no idea WTF she was talking about. I mean I thought that's what she was saying, but it was so dumb I didn't want to belive it.
Should have been her talking about her friend and the Purge that's it.
That said, nothing in else has really offended me. It is a step down from XIII's storytelling. Which yes wasn't bad.

I have no knowledge of this, so it's not a spoiler, but I had assumed she was supposed to die before the time paradox stuff? That's why she "saw" her name on the grave, just as Serah "saw" Light? I don't really know the plot yet...
But in any case, the tone of the scene was very awkward anyhow.

Lol, I used to work at Kmart. If their store is anything like the ones I used to work at...there is no 'system'. They're so out of date they don't use computers to keep track of their stock at all.

Any other monsters that benefit for specific builds (with infusion) or can I just go about buffing the relevant stat (HP/ATK/MAG) for their role?
You can level up the behemoths pretty good too, but kichu is by far the greatest one I've tried.

Yeah that's probably what the scene was about on 2nd thought. I won't lie, time travel and paradoxes whatnot are above me.
So maybe what was trying to be said wasn't stupid, it sure was said very badly though.

OK. I don't have a guide for the game and didn't want to potentially screw myself out of late-game efficiency by mishandling monster growth. I'll watch out for Kichu.
Kichu can only be gotten by obtaining the improved mog throwing skill, then by throwing it into the red flowers on archylte steppe.
It'll be a long while before you can even get it because you need Mog to grow. I suggest that you level up a commando that doesn't use the same materials to level up as it does.

I pumped some stuff into my Hoplite, but that was before I understood that certain items gives stat bonuses. I'm about 5 hours into the game, just completed Yaschas Massif 10AF.
Yeah, knew about that particular one. Wasn't sure how it worked on others. Thanks! I guess I'll just keep the gold chocobo as is at max level.
The casino is just soooo bad if you're going for the trophy/achievement.
Check near the big stone cactaur, uhh south? of the camp (near where you got chichu) there might be a small sliver you didn't explore along the side of the mountain. That's where my 1% was missing.
I lucked out and got that within 100 spins last night.
Casino coin was probably the most annoying trophy to get imo.

oh, can't stack catalogs btw (unless I've done something wrong); had the regular catalog + durable one, bonuses were the same
Well lucky coin is something else, but have you gotten the 'win 10,000 coins in the casino' trophy?

Ohh, not that one, sorry. Best luck I've had with the slots is winning 6k or so. I'll probably do the rest with racing.

Finally had to bail out on this game
Put a couple more hours in(total of 5 hours) and I can't take it anymore. Tried to hold out because the battle system is so good, but everything else is too corny. Hopefully Square-Enix has some drastic changes it store for the next Final Fantasy.

Still fairly early. I noticed that a lot of commandos tend to be early peakers which is a disappointment to me.
I forget the name, but up until a Chichu I was using one of those large kicking birds for my commando and it served me quite well. Not too weak and the attacks weren't that slow.
Will have to try again for a Green Chocobo medic since a couple of hours of farming didn't get me one, and I'll pick up a Pulse Gladiator to replace my Knight. I've yet to use a ravager or syn/sab monster.

So what is the word on the 'Hard mode'? I am early into the game but am considering holding off on playing further until this either gets patched or available as DLC. I just fear all the combat being too easy and really don't want to play through the entire game wishing the paradigm shifting and other tactical considerations are better balanced.
Probably unlikely. Most Japanese players I saw on stream were playing on Easy Mode lol.
A shame. Oh well, time to bust through this before Amalur I guess.
I enjoyed the combat in XIII but mostly in the endgame facing all the more difficult hunts when my pre-built decks and management really came together as a nice challenge.
Do you think the game would be harder if I just went solely for hp bonuses instead of the atk/mag bonuses?

Whoa, played for 5 hours already, just beated the demo section. Very, very easy.

I concur with Augusta Tower being the worst area in the game. It's a cool looking level though, reminds me of tron. But the small spaces, HIGH encounter rate, and hard to run. I was stuck on turning the rooms around, coupled with fighting all that crap, took awhile. On the bright side my Noel is now a 99 rav, and close to 90 com.
I just now am about to hit the top, this should be fun...
