HM. I won't DARE use an AOE in EM Garuda. That darn spiny always wanders just an inch to close and bam. Had that happen once, never used an AOE as a SMN again until that thing was gone.
Pretty sure that's impossible when it comes to the i90 stuff since you can only have points in 2 secondary stats. I think building up both DET and CRIT is the smartest thing to do versus stacking all in one.
Bunch of Allagan have DET and CRIT together which means you can just load up on ACC with uh, the myth pants and some other stuff. While the itemization options for MNK isn't stellar, I think what they do have is pretty nice.
Noted for EM Garuda. Thank ye, now I won't garner the hate of my party by accident.
As the off tank (I've got to main that fight sometime,) I always grab the Spiny during the Eye phase, and kite it away, so AOE dealers can safely go hog wild.
Unless it clings to the main Tank of course. Then, it's useually safe to AOE down at least some plumes, and I help DPS down the ones closer to the tank.
We have it pretty good, and we can make good use of skill speed too. Don't completely neglect speed because you want at most a 2.1 GCD for a good rotation. Myth pants are pretty awesome for their stats. I'm at 7 T5 clears and still no MNK body, though (and like 22 T1 clears and still no monk pants), so if you're serious about playing monk I'd just buy at least myth pants and body (in that order). The headpiece is also great if you need the acc (I used allagan head with relic+1 but now that I have allagan claws I need the acc from the i90 AF headpiece). Myth accessories are not that great but STR is your most important stat by miles after ACC so they're way better than, say, DL, if you have the acc to replace them....but since MNK can use both maiming and striking you have a lot of opportunity to gear up accessory slots between allagan and extreme primals.

As a fellow BRD I feel for you. Took me awhile to get my boots but when I did I think the following week I got my neck. For coil luckily my BRD is done except for Weapon. Actually starting to gear my SMN and SCH. I actually was lucky and got 3 pieces tonight. casting pants, healing body and head. Actually only need 2 more pieces from casting and healing and my coil farming is done until 2.2
Better than Titan ex practice and still not killing it, maybe I need a new fc

Touche but I have watched the spiny do what it pleases,regardless of the tank's efforts...so no aoe from me!
The tank needs to throw a Tomohawk or Shield Lob at the spiny after voking it, and to be safe should either periodically Tomo/Lob it again, or use a week attack to keep up enmity.
Really, the off tank should ideally be DPSing down roughly half the Spiny's HP when he/she has a free moment anyway, doing that should make it rather difficult for the OT to lose enmity too easily.
I understand why a lot of Tanks are reluctant to do that though. I myself was initially afraid to intentionally attack it before it was time to kill it off. Really though, so long as the Tank keeps to its weaker attacks and doesn't start working off rotations, there's not much chance of the Tank killing it off early.

If it's with a group of people whom you enjoy being around, that sort of thing isn't too bad. Really, it's a game, you need to remember to have fun, even when you're having difficult times.

I'm just tired of the same fight, we've been doing t1-4 Monday then titan ex the rest of the week since the patch came out, always 1 person can't keep it together during or around the time adds spawn.
Well, I admit that I wish there was more content, so players could divert their time elsewhere if they became stuck during X, Y, or Z boss fights. Because the game is rather linear, a roadbump anywhere can bring your game progression to nearly a halt.
Still, the important thing is to find people you enjoy being around, and having fun.

Doing Coil in different roles is a nice change of pace, especially when you have 2 Coil ready characters.

Cleared all three EX primals finally. I just need to do it again next week to get my first weapon... or maybe Onion Shield.
What did you do with your tokens from completing the quest the first time?
Thank god I didn't immediately use up the item a guildie crafted for me for the relic quest. That quest is long as hell and I'm still in AF gear at the moment. Probably going to be the last piece of relic gear I get.

You get something for clearing it the first time? I didn't see anything. :I I thought you had to clear them all twice, right?
Nope, only once. You, of course, get three more for every week you complete the quest.
You should have three tokens in your inventory which buys you either a sword/shield, or a two-handed weapon.
No, you get tokens for clearing it the first time. After you claim your tokens you unlock the repeatable too.

I think Aurum Vale has some great dungeon music, though the entire place should have been a swamp.

Best thing to do in this entire phase is to have every one stack up against the back of garuda so all the razor plumes go to that spot then have the OT take spiny off MT or whoever its on and take it a safe distance from the group. Can then AoE All plumes and get alot of extra DPS on garuda.

Welp I still got a crash with the driver. Was funny because while it was installing it was advertising the game with things like "Experience Eorzea the way it was meant to be" and what not. Bleh
crashed again during Titan EX for like 5 seconds and got hit by landslide. So frustrating.irfaanator
