Yeah, you're right. For some reason I thought the Esoterics were on the same timer as daily roulette, but they're not.
If that's the case, how are people already getting their weapons? Aren't they 990 each, or am I missing something?
...I'm probably missing something. -_-
Edit - Never mind, I see that the tanking weapons are lower, since both a sword/shield are needed. I feel like an idiot now. I'll show myself out. ~_~
I wish I was able to run/cap my Esoterics the morning of the patch [before reset], otherwise I'd be getting my weapon this week too. I could really use that Spell Speed.
Oh well, first thing next week then!
Only paladins are able to get their weapon this week if that's what you're confused about. Nobody was able to get extra esoterics the moment servers went up

I think I spent an hour on the character customization screen, changing between Lala and Au Ra until I made my choice. Lalas are really cute, but I don't think they'll look well in SMN AF 2.0. I'll create another character on another server just to play as a Lala when I feel the urge.

Come to Ultros. Real talk, the lalafell community on Ultros are some of the best people I've met in the game so far and a big part of the reason I'm still playing. I'm glad that I switched way back when.

It takes a special mindset to want to heal at all, and in PvP will people will
A) die to the most inane stupid stuff you can imagine and then blame you for it or
b) you heal them through it *somehow* only for them to run off (then proceed back to step a)
Plus with the way people are separated even making a mumble group doesn't actually help unless people from your GC actually happen to be on, PLUS anyone who isn't an idiot on the other teams targets you first and you have to rely on someone else for peel. so yea. Just not that fun for a lot of people.

When I was on Sarg I was in 3 different Lalafell linkshells and all were very active and helpful.
I've yet to be invited to one on Balmung. But here I suspect cat linkshells rule.

I'm disappointed but not surprised.
Any place where one might check how good the player base is on each place? I'm on Malboro and I'm not sure wether its just a bad server or is this a thing that is common place in all servers. I'd move to Ultros to get on the GAF FC but I got irl friends on Malboro. I'm just wodering if the "hardcore" crowd just keeps it to themselves on any servers and you are stuck playing with casual players unless you know people.
What server did everyone move to and is now a mess? Gilgamesh? I think that's basically the only place someone can go if they are just hoping to be graced by the hardcore on a regular basis. Or go to a Japanese server, they are all nice and competent.

The better a player is, the less likely they are going to go do something with random folks, it is what it is and is MMO wide. Why run something with a bunch of random people who could have any skill level from a rock to god when you can just run with the people you know in your guild or in your raid group? At the end of the day, any player can be good enough to do everything, it's just dependent if they are with the right people who are also good enough to do everything.
If the question is actually "where is there active PUG endgame stuff", and not just "Where is the rainbow land where the dress code is monocles and top hats and randoms live up to my standards?" I think the answer is Gilgamesh and/or Excalibur? For like... Raid PFs.
It's way less work to just get to know people, though. And it's just more enjoyable to mock the failures of people you know.
