End of September so I'll say mid October because these guys never hit their dates. Materia and all sounds awesome but there still isn't enough content you can have flashy stuff like Materia and all but there isn't anything to do still. I hope the public dungeons allow people to go in without a party because right now the ones we have are a super big chore getting enough people to run it. Let alone those who blew through it first week and now no longer want to do it and the servers aren't exactly full of people.

As for finding/making parties, there still seem to be alot of people shouting for toto-rak parties...havent seen that many for darkhold, unless its just the time of day i'm online. Also the problem with people blowing through content will never be fixed until the servers become more populated/people dial back the "day one" completion drive. They dont really need another expansion though, just add more substantial content on top of the areas/add more land marks and things to do on the areas already there.

Bummed about the loss of physical levels. I liked that everything one did would help build the character in a core way. Someone could spend five weeks chopping trees and sawing wood, and have some strength to show for it when they decided to pick up a sword.

The biggest problem with the dungeons was there was no decent party finding features, huge mistake imo.
I can't be arsed to wait for other people or log on at 4 in the morning to go for runs, SE need to really get their shit together and make this game something you can just jump on and do stuff instead of standing around for hours trying to piece together a party. (it's FF11 all over again)

Things seem to be moving in the right direction for this game (CHOCOBOS!!) but its still too early for me to invest. I still feel a little sad for the lone, gigantic FFXIV CE Box left at my local Best Buy, though. It sits on the bottom shelf of the endcap of their software aisle all by itself at the back of the store, right next to shovelware sudoku and puzzle games. Its edges are frayed and its box battered by the many hands that must have handled it since it was first stocked. The blinking red light on the security button affixed to its front flashes weakly as if to mock it--"Lol, like anyone would want to steal you," it seems to say. Perhaps one day I will pick it up. Perhaps one day.
Ah who am I kidding, I'm going to wait for the PS3 relaunch.

I'm looking forward to the abolition of physical levels, since it'll mean you can't redistribute points anymore. The waiting period in redistributing points made switching jobs a pain since I'd like to level both LNC and CON, but their stats are very unalike. I wish they would address the market, though, since some of the fun of levelling is anticipating new equipment, and the wards are really limiting that.

My copy just arrived and apparently these come with the Garlond Goggles. But... since I used mileS buddy code and I had to make a North American SE account, I'm guessing I won't be able to use the Garlond Goggles code? (since they came from a EU game)
So I was online for a few minutes last night and punched a couple of dodos just to see what changed. I guess without the stamina bar and with the auto-attack they've basically gone with WoW-style combat now where everything is based on cooldowns except the cooldowns are kinda long (no more heavy strike and 30 seconds for light strike?) so it seems like a lot of waiting. I'm not criticizing the game here, like I said I was only online for a few minutes. I was just hoping someone could tell me what I'm missing. Do you guys like the combat now?
Here's something I forgot to check for. Some abilities can only be used after certain conditions are met (like dodging an attack). Is there any chance that the icons indicate that it is OK to use the ability or do you still have to watch for the dodge text to come up and hit the button?

Edit: Wow, so much good reading to catch up on over at the Lodestone. So guildleves are solo content now? How viable is soloing? Earlier in the year it was possible but it seemed to take forever to level up even in the high teens. Is that still the case or do solo guildleves make things much better? Are raids cool? Edit again: Have they said anything else about the area outside of Gridania and how annoying it is? I remember promises that they'd fix it but I guess that's more of a long term plan?

The festival music is seriously starting to grate on my nerves. I wish they would limit it to the general area of the festival NPC.

At rank 16 or 17 should I be taking the rank 20 leves or rank 10 leves? Do you still get to pick a difficulty when you actually start the leve or has that changed too? Kinda psyched about playing this again.
