weren't there other pics? did the french, germans and japanese not bother to answer any of the stupid questions?

They did, the reps are just behind on updating them (Its the Weekend and they maybe delaying them so the 'event' ends right when it is supposed to).

French one just got updated and completed. Ultima looks pretty damn awesome, can't wait to see what the in game model of that is going to look like.

Oh man, looking for this website: http://ffxivcamps.blogspot.com I refound the FFXI counterpart, Campsitarus. It brought so many memories of getting my first 75, and looking for camps. ;_;/ I'm happy that FFXIV is making me feel like those days, it feels fresh and it's exciting to level up.

Can't wait to start getting my jobs to the cap! Btw guys, when will we be able to make it to the "main" LS? Is it after the welcome-back, see who stays?

Also wanted to give a shout out to the people who helped with unlocking BLM, Danorille and Alaltus, as well as Angier for helping me on the Grand Company quests as well as being a kick-ass guy (Dano helped there, too!) and Nagisa (even if she won't read) for the Loyalist Bliaud. <:

I feel we have a nice group going on, and I can't wait to be able to join in the big fights!

An interesting quote in the today's news,

In order to fulfill the requirements for the Legacy Campaign, a player must register his/her copy of the game no later than Thursday, May 31, 2012, and have subscribed for a minimum of 90 days beyond the conclusion of your free trial period.

We could presume that 2.0 client would be available on september 1 or so. :0

So I ended up resubbing earlier than expected (literally in the middle of a DH run after being booted). Still hoping to get some time with other games after playing so hard the passed few days.

One of my current goals is to complete the third tier of the three Faction leves lines. The ones where you fight big NMs which can drop those stones you turn in to Templar/etc gear. Has anyone else done these? How tough?

Where are my shoutouts? I got Nagi to do it! Jk. Anyway. . . Still ironing out the main LS. But you need to be registered for the site and have at least one 45 is what's been agreed on.

From a community Rep.

In the upcoming patch 1.22a hotfix, we will be increasing the amount of seals rewarded from Grand Company leves and caravan security quests.

Please keep the feedback coming!

About damn time hope its double or triple what it currently is at. When I can get 2k+ doing toto-rak an hour or less for seals and I get a paltry 400 seals at best an hour on leves there is something wrong. Almost none of the current content for seals is based on current end game, you need to make groups purely dedicated to grabbing weapons right now and the best way to do it is simply grinding out a lvl 25 dungeon. Hopefully escort becomes one of the most efficient ways to get seals (high end escort since it actually requires a group) and leves give an adequate amount so that its easier for people with time to solo farm their seals (unless you are like me who made an alt to solo toto-rak!).

Also its interesting they are still calling it 1.22a Hotfix, I wonder if that means 1.22b isn't coming out till around E3 now.

Thank goodness. I enjoy the Grand Company system a lot, but I hate that my only/best source of seals is running through toto with a partner. Hopefully they don't just add 10 more seals per leve and call that an improvement.

Hopefully the seal improvements are significant, but it will still be boring grinding out seal leves at the same location.

I used to do a lot of seal leves, but I do this now. It's a lot more fun than seal leves, and I've never heard anyone say anything good about Caravan escort, either.

I actually like escort, the problem is there isn't a single reason to do the damn things due to weak rewards, not to mention being limited based on company affiliation. Not only do you need to be a party of only people affiliated with your company but you can only do it at escorts near your company stronghold, those limitations plus weak rewards means no one wants to do it and as such you can never get enough people to play the content as intended. As for the Company Leves I use them as leveling leves mostly these days, but it would be nice to get a lot more reward for my effort.

I'm always depressed to see it in the achievement lists because I know I'll never get it. Maybe if they become more popular due to these changes, they'll have a sort of reform in the future to make them more fun or change to help with whatever makes them bad right now.

It's also a problem that GC leves are mysteriously solo-only.

They should just open them up to everyone, and make them more party-oriented.

In 2.0, I think would I would really prefer is to have one GC leve at every camp that has some passing bearing on the overall story. Grand Companies are supposed to be big and important, and the GC leves just feel small-ball... like most leves.

Smells of an exploit counter-measure, but... I literally can't imagine why or how. The leves are on a timer too, so it's not like you can crank them out at an insane rate or anything.

Sometimes I feel like they're not intentionally playing this stuff close to the chest and making odd decisions, they just have really odd dev resource appropriation due to them essentially planning and remaking an entire MMO. I mean, if they were really putting a lot into the current game as it is (outside of content that will be in 2.0 anyway; primals, gear) I feel like our Seventh Umbral Era "Live Events" would be more than these imperial encounters and the occasionally odd NPC

I guess I'd prefer it over them putting less into 2.0 to spruce the current game, but I'm not even sure that's the case so maybe I'm just blowing smoke.

I'll be thankful for increased seals. And yes, I really hope the Grand Company leves get some sort of story injection...because protecting a miner from a gang of diremites doesnt seem very important.

Well I guess I will beg here.

I'm trying to see if my brother would like to play or not. The problem is its kind of hard to convince him.

So I wonder if there is anyone who still has guest pass? Thanks.

Are there guest passes anymore? I don't think so, I tried that to move my character to Sargatanas!

Just reminding people that in 10 hours from this post or so, I'll be partying with Bobby Gunz. Likely a 35~ PT. If anyone in RedDot wants to party at that time, we can get a couple of levels before going to bed!

Escorts aren't bad,but you have to spam them non stop to make any decent seals on them.

The good thing is that you can retry them every 15 mins, I have the achievements for the treespeak timed runs but not the Tranquil one.

It's too bad everyone went with different companies as we can't really do LS events for these. :(

I feel like our Seventh Umbral Era "Live Events" would be more than these imperial encounters and the occasionally odd NPC

LOL you and everyone else, so far this live umbral events has been extremely underwhelming, they played us good with the promise of content though. /sigh, seems SE were just after our money as usual.

I was expecting more then what we got, but nothing near what other people were expecting. I expected a bunch of little 'achievements', an occasional item or two that you could only get during the events and slow but escalating ramp up to 2.0 of the live portion of the events. What I don't think people understand is that part of the 'only can be seen before 2.0' stuff is also the one shot GC quests as well as some of the battle rewards from things like the primal battles and such. From what Yoshida said during the second live producer letter the primal battle rewards might actually be only available (In their current form) before 2.0 since the battle themselves will be changing slightly for 2.0, both for story reasons and even slightly for aesthetic reasons. Yoshida mentioned the primals would 'look' a bit different in 2.0 and we already got a hint of that with the concept art for Leviathan.

So in a way almost all the new content is "Can't be repeated in 2.0" stuff because even if the instances stick around for 2.0, there is no guarantee the gear or the CS leading up to and within them will stay the same. The may very well get tuned for lower level or even new max level fights later on with completely different rewards for 2.0.

Edit: As for the maintenance a JP rep posted the changes going in. We are getting the class/job balances that were said to be coming in 1.22b. Looks like the balances are all in relation to the 5 melee classes and they will balance not only job skills but even some class skills.

GLD to PLD: Removing hp reduction and instead giving an INT reduction.

Archer/BRD: Using a weaponskilll will now force a recast time for light shot.

You can now block with a shield while casting and upon blocking with a shield you won't get interrupted while casting a spell.

Pugilist/MNK ability changes:
Concussive blow: Effect of combo bonus increased.
Haymaker: Physical Damage increased.
Aura Pulse: Physical Damage increased
Howling Fist: Combo bonus effect increased.
Simian Thrash: Comb bonus effect increased.

Dragon Kick: Damage increased.

GLD:
Riot Blade: Damage increased
Goring Blade: Recast will be 60 seconds now instead of 80, damage will be increased.

PLD: Hollowed Ground now blocks all incoming damage with some exceptions (Likely primal two hours and similar things, it now blocks magic etc.)

Marauder:
Berserk: Physical Damage up, Physical damage received increased as well.

Rampage:
Effect will be changed from
"Increases your attack speed and power for each physical attack against you, and restores HP for each critical hit you land."
to
"Increases your attack speed and parry rate, and restores HP for each critical hit you land."
*While in effect the rate of effect fading will faster.

Whirlwind: Effect of combo bonus will be changed from "Consumes TP to increase damage when you are below 50% HP." to "While in berserk mode the effect will be reset but damage will increase"

WAR:
Collusion - Effect will be changed from "Redirects enmity generated by target party member's next attack to you." to "Redirects part or enmity generated by target party member's next attack to you"

Steel Cyclone: Tp needed to use will be 1k tp instead of 2k tp. AOE range decreased and bonus damage from rampage will also decrease.

Lancer:
Vorpul Thrust - Accuracy penalty removed.
Impulse Drive - Accuracy penalty removed.
Life Surge - Effect timer will change from 60 seconds to 180 seconds (This is awesome)

Power Surge -
Effect will be changed from
"Consumes TP to increase your attack power and damage you sustain, up to a maximum of three stacks. Cannot be used simultaneously with Life Surge."
to
"Increases own physical damage, decreases physical defense. When using weapon skill or jump at target it will increase the effect time. Also when effect stack the effect is increased (three stacks maximum). Cannot be used simultaneously with Life Surge" Reuse of ability will end the effect"
(Gonna work like stance in puglist/monk from how it sounds)
*Recast time will be changed from 30 seconds to 10 seconds
*No longer consumed TP

Chaos Thrust -
Effect will be changed from
"Delivers a sixfold attack at low accuracy."
to
"Delivers a sixfold attack with bonus to physical critical damage."

Enhanced Power Surge Trait (lvl 44): Effect of power surge up will be decreased

DRG:
Jump - Effect will be change from
" Delivers a jumping attack, returning you to your original position after the attack is made."
to
"Will evade a physical attack while delivering a jumping attack and returning you to your original position"

WHM:

Benediction range increased.

Noooooo... those ARC changes... :(

My only lvl 50 combat class is Archer and I find the nerf ok. We are still going to be a preferred class due to range and AOE weaponskills, not to mention Bard Buffs and the ability to shoot out an emergency raise or cure when needed. These changes do make me want to level Pugilist and Lancer though (especially Lancer since I just got mog fork recently) which is good, in a game where you can level a ton of classes you never actually 'lose' anything during these nerfs/rebalancing acts, you can just start leveling the new hotness XD.

Not sure what to make of those changes. They are making Power Surge weaker, but easier to use. I was fine the way it was (I like the challenge).

The game is sluggish when it isn't 60 FPS... so I don't see myself using Jump as an evasion move on reaction.

I guess I should be happy about the reduction of an accuracy penalty on WSes. I fucking missed those so many times lol.

Doesn't nerfing WAR's AoE capacity simply make BLM's more dominant?

Anyway I'm glad to have finally got the Wanderer's shadow title. Was... difficult to say the least. Probably easier with a PLD.

I'm not seeing the Power Surge change as a nerf. It seems power surge will now be a straight damage bonus increase rather then an attack up, and since they made the damage received based on defense rather then a straight percentage difference that means they won't be a complete glass canon and they won't need to spend precious tp to keep the effect active. They nerfed the 'enhance' trait due to the strength of these changes.

Also some of DRG biggest issues was the inability to avoid large damage spikes from mobs, there is usually enough time to see a mob readying a large attack that you can just use jump as he is charging it.

As for WAR nerf, that nerf hurts BLM's too. With less AOE range and the nerf to Collusion that means it will be alot easier for a BLM to get hate, especially with AOE spells. They will need to be a lot more careful and strategies the depended on a WAR Collusioning a BLM and having them use an AOE move will likely be severely nerfed due to this change.

Basically my guess after these changes. -> PLD will become THE tank for single targets. Before it was up in the air due to the spell intereupt issues, the less hp and WAR just had an easier time holding hate, now with the single target weaponskill buffs, no interrupt on blocks and an even more capable hollowed ground, it should make them the king of single target. WAR will still be the best AOE tank but their capacity will be a lot more limited so damage dealers and healers will need to be a bit more careful and stuff like Chameleon and Quelling strike will become a lot more needed. This is especially true after they upped the damage across the board for DRG and MNK by the looks of it.

Edit: NM I take back what I said about the power surge nerf. It looks like with the official translation it is indeed attack power rather then damage like it always was so the enhancement decrease really is a nerf.

Greetings everyone!

As you may have read, the previously announced class/job action adjustments that were scheduled to take place in 1.22b, are actually going to be included in today’s 1.22a hotfixes. Benediction
Area of effect will be expanded.

BTW, Allard...

Every time you post and are intelligent, it makes me sad that you aren't on Sargatanas with us. :\

I played on Figaro (Now Aegis) because most of my FFXI server friends on all went there from Gilgamesh. They still play a lot so I am not going to leave a good thing, maybe in 2.0 when we get the extra character slots I'll make a character and stop by once and a while :). Right now my social shell constantly gets 8-12 people on a night, and my other more populated shell usually has at least 14-24 people on at time (Of course not all of them might be actively talking on that shell). Between the shells I have and the shells my friends have its usually pretty easy to get people to scrap together events on the fly like Ifrit or Moogle.

Hell last night I did Darkhold last night for the first time (Like I said plenty times before I like crafting and gathering more right now as work and real world things make it hard for me to do more time intensive events, but if people need help real quick I tend to be one of the first to jump in :) ) and we just scrounged up a chaotic group of people and did it for some people (like me) who needed to do DH Grand Company quest and someone needed AF. We ended up doing Batral for the hell of it and won with minimal coordination XD. Half the people in the group never did DH before and the other half did it on classes they never ran the event on before.

Anyways patch notes are out. The combat changes have been posted for the most part but this caught my eye.

The algorithm for calculating the following parameters has been revised:

Critical Hit Rating / Critical Hit Attack Power / Magic Critical Hit Rating

* Players will find the impact of these parameters more pronounced when facing higher-level enemies.

Also the changes to Escort are decent, its what I felt they needed to do at bare minimum to make it more useful. I still hope in the near future they get rid of the useless limitation of escorts being restricted by the company you are affiliated, content that out right blocks people due to one time choices should not even be considered in the future as it just segregates an established community.

The waiting time for reentering the Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak has been increased from 5 minutes to 15 minutes.
Oh, no. Hahaha.

Anyone know the original rates for the caravan security? If they're suggesting that at 9 packs you receive 500 total, that's still insignificant.

I got at most 125 for the lower level escort before so the 200 seal jump is decent but not great for that one, I'd certainly do the high level more often if I could get the people as it at least feels like you will get something for the effort while doing achievements where before it felt like a token reward. Also you can do caravan every 15 minutes letting you potentially get 2k seals an hour for the high level one. Still doesn't beat some Toto-rak runs but its by no means a bad amount.

Having said that the high end Escorts need close to maximum group size (4) as the mobs scale up to lvl 50+ much like behest does. If the highest level is lvl 50, the escort will be tuned for that level and toward the end it is very likely you will get swamped by up to 12 lvl 52 mobs at once and if you can't take on all 12 of those mobs at once, that means the chocobos are getting beat up which mean packages are lost which will dramatically impact the seal reward. I tried doing the skull valley one with another friend and although we were able to get to the last wave with 'minimal' damage to the chocobo, we started running out of time and the final wave just out right swamped us.
