Problem is if you try to play before that. And even then the server only really starts to get busy after 11pm.

The Lilith Rod's light-up effect is really subtle too, which is a nice change from the Nexus ruining cutscenes by completely obscuring everything, but I kind of feel like the weapon should still have a little more oomph. But I guess we'll see what happens with the next stage of the weapon. :V

I really didn't like the Stardust Rod design at all so I glamoured it but it's not like I've ever used it anyway so it's neither here not there.

I am EU and play on Ultros. It's fine but maybe a little quiet during the EU day. That has it's advantages too though, especially if you want to hunt.

Another reason to not join an NA server might be the latency.

When I pinged the NA servers I got something around 240 ms, whereas I got 40-46 ms when I pinged the EU one.

Not sure what's going on here since NA and EU servers are in the same place (Montreal). I guess for 3.0 they are moving the EU servers to actual Europe though.

Speaking for the relatively small server I'm playing on (Lich), the good thing is that you know everyone. The major end content raiding FC (be it french, english, german or italian) all share a LS to help form groups, and most people are fine with learning parties to help new players.
The bad thing is that, well... everyone knows you :p so if you're a bad player (bad behavior, unskilled with no intention to properly learn their class or fights) you may stay alone in PF for a long times ^^". Also the talent pool while probably relatively equals to those of other bigger servers, is not that high and made worse by the small population.
PF on prime time has around 15 entries, because most groups are formed through LS and FC.
DF times are okay (except if you are a DPS :p) since we're paired with the whole data center.
As a semi casual/raid player I can't complain.

Finally reached level 30 on my Arcanist (took me "a while", thanks dps queue), time for research macros for my Scholar. Seems like SCH are missing a lot of healing utilities starting out, will have to get used to not having any AoE heals or Esuna for a few levels.

Scholar is just an extra DPS in low level content, Eos is the actual healer :eek:.

I find myself getting so impatient waiting for the expansion now for some reason. >_<

This weekend when they talk about it won't help. New Areas is probably a big reason why lol.

Stupid tiny question I'm absolutely unable to find an answer to: what does leveling up actually do? Raises stats, unlocks skills and makes it so you can use higher level gear? Anything else?

I'm getting back into the game now that I heard the game actually has a native controller support with the PS4 ui. Made a new character on Ultros again, might join the GAF clan later.

e: also if i change classes, will all my stats and stuff go down to correspond that class' level?

So while Ultros is fine for evening /night players, is Sargatanas more EU or NA centric? Or take the safest route with ragnarok?

There is a disappointing lack of plain jackets in this game or at least I have a hard time finding one that I like :(

I like the base design of the bliauds.
The plundered one from one of the earlier dungeons and the one from the maelstrom quartermaster are fine, completely plain design and more or less only a single colour. Unfortunately you can't dye them.
The only dyeable ones I found are the ones that weaver can craft but unfortunately those have emblems on the back and front and stripes on the arms instead of the simple design.

I tried the best man's jacket as an alternative. From the back it looks fine and it's dyeable but I'm not a fan from the front.

Any suggestions that I might have missed?

Extremely late to the party, but I have only 3 books left. Soon the fate camping and wasting time in specific low lv dungeons will be over!
I should also get my ironworks pants tomorrow - they should bump me to ilv ~115. Maybe I'll try turn 9 with df again.

How come? Certainly it's a bit quiet before 6pm (my time, gmt +2) or so but that shouldn't matter that much, I can play late most days anyway

I gave it some thought and made another character on Phoenix since I've only played an hour or so on Ultros

But I guess I could jump back and forth. Such a shame world transfer is so expensive.

I share the same want for more simple and cleanly designed pieces. Explains my love-hate relationship with the Kirimu Coat. A shame it exposes the bra since the back view is awesome.

Also, have you tried the Cotton Dalmatica or Hempen Tunic? Those might not be jackets, but they sure do have plain designs.

Yeah, let's hope they add more simple clothing in the future then.

Oh nice, I totally missed the Hempen Tunic. Not a jacket but very nice design :)
... except Disciple of War-only and I'm a Disciple of Magic. This is a cruel game.

They should make atleast 1 world transfer free but that's just my opinion.

Leveling up gives you higher stats and also provides a few attribute points to allocate to the stat of your choice, however, it's largely dependent on the class you're leveling. At specific levels, you gain new abilities; certain quests are locked by level, so you need to be high enough to do them. The classes turn into jobs, and jobs require certain classes to be at certain levels before you can upgrade to a job.

All your stats will correspond to the level of the class you are, so when you change class from Archer 15 to Lancer 20 your stats will jump.

Okay, I know nobody is personally invested in this, but, only one item left until I have my Zodiac. It's kinda insane how some dungeons drop the items you need immediately, and others make you grind out for them, over, and over, and over, and over. D:

I lost track of how many Lost Cities I ran, and yesterday I ran dungeons for at least five hours straight, and only got the Sastasha item...

and the parrot minion, that was unexpected.

But, yeah, one more night, and I should be free to get an actual full night of sleep again. Z_Z

You can dye the bliauds from PvP.

So I'm finally starting this game up sometime this week/weekend. I have a low level archer that I'm going to delete (only level 6 or 7) and just start fresh. I haven't played since early days of Realm Reborn and know almost nothing about the game to be honest. I'm a long time MMO vet so I think getting the hang of it will come quick, but are there any early tips I should I know?

Going to roll a Thaumaturge. I know queue times will be bad as a DPS, but hopefully I can get things going and just group up with gaffers =)
