This is bullshit.

How am I supposed to spend my time, in the real world!?

So check it.
Friday night, my neighborhood had a planned power outage for maintenance on something.
All of Saturday, no internet because the FIOS fiber line was somehow physically cut during said work. Come Sunday at around 2PM, I finally get internet back when a tech comes to my place and replaces a piece of equipment that was blown out during the outage.

I haven't gotten anything more than like 3 solid hours into this so far all weekend. My poor plants are probably dead.

Ugh. There goes our 3 hours of planned T11 practice. God darn it.

Servers seem back and fine, but called it just before :(

The hell? One server malfunction and OF melts down like it's the surface of Venus.

One? pshh that one never ended.

Problem is they also won't do shit until tomorrow night since they likely see no reason to because maintenance is tomorrow and they don't want the game to be down 2 nights in a row. At this point though they honestly should just schedule the maintenance for tonight since servers are dead anyway.

How am I going to keep undercutting the hard hippogryph leather and FC3 markets if the servers don't stay up long enough for people to buy my crap?

Blech, finished my Ixal dailies but didn't have a chance to water my plants before I got kicked off again.

Can't believe I've gone this long without knowing how much the Sealants were selling for. I could've been making so much gil ;.;

They've gone down by a lot since the good days too. Regular 300k each in the first days after patch down to around 190k now. Still good money though.

So I just hit 50(self high five). Someone told me that once you do you get an 50% exp bonus for additional classes you try to level up?

You get that for any class lower than your highest, not just when you get to 50. But, yes, you have a +50% EXP bonus on your other classes.

They're normally the problem anyway. Seems this time it might just be straight up the gateway out there just being down.

You would think that maybe, just maybe that would be a wake up call for them to stop cheaping out when it comes to providers. It's insane the amount of maintenance they have had to do over the last year just because they want to be cheap.

"looking for clear group. Must be over 9000, otherwise kick and blacklist"

You're talking like that isn't happening already in a form or other.

I'm just saying that I would enjoy the game more if it told people how they're doing compared to others. Would save time for the guild leaders like crazy.

So I just did Leviathan EX last night and five items dropped, including the mirror.
I lost the roll, but I am wondering if the drop rate was really increased that much or were we just lucky?

Thinking of grinding Levi for the Shiva daggers and mirror for glamour.

....Since I can't seem to find a party in the DF that can beat Ramuh EX still....

The problem with there being an official parser is that then EVERYONE will be able to tell others how shit they're doing, not just a few randoms in pf that don't care to follow the rules and not shit talk people over meters currently. Go check WoW and you'll see how well that goes when parsers are allowed and most people have them, the moment someone starts sucking you'll have multiple people calling them out and wanting them kicked.

The way it is now is honestly fine. There are parsers out there to use and you're guaranteed to be fine if you follow the rules for them and don't start ragging on randoms when they're underperforming. There should be consequences when someone is using a help tool to shit talk people when they should know full well that Square has a policy against people like that.

Is it such a bad thing that everyone can tell if you are doing badly? People will harass no matter what, they already do that everytime someone fails a mechanic or shows up with a low ilevel or everything in between. On the flip side at least people can know on their own if they are doing badly if there is an official parser. As it stands there is zero feedback in game to tell you if you are playing badly as a DPS, and this is really bad for any player who wants to improve. It gets doubly bad for people on consoles since they can't even go and use the unofficial ones unless they get a PC friend to parse for them.

You are completely right there should be consequences when someone is using a helpful tool to shit talk people, but the consequence shouldn't be removing the helpful tool altogether and punishing people who are using it correctly. It's like their stance on disabling tells in dungeons because they were afraid it would be used for harassment. The solution should always be to punish the harassers not punish the rest of the playerbase.

I honestly would not mind a built in parser for myself and me alone. Something that only I can see, and nobody else, and I can only see my own statistics. Especially because I play on PS4 and there are obviously no such options for parsers there.

But I never wanna see the absurd nonsense that happened in World of Warcraft happen here. I hope they always crack down on that.

If I don't get Levi pony by Saturday, I want to know what people want GIL wise to stick around for like 2 hours of Levi farming and pass on pony. If you fall off during any point, though, I'm docking you.

That would be a really good compromise. You'd probably get people asking what your numbers are still (and maybe even demanding screenshots or something), but it'd be far more tolerable.

Honestly dps meter elitism never bothered me in WoW, it is just like ilevel requirements here, either the number they want is sensible and if you are far off then you know you need to improve or it is crazy/they are assholes about it and you save yourself some time by knowing they are the kind of people you don't want to play with in the first place.

There's definitely good to be had coming from parsers. Being able to look at the data and see where you're under-performing is very useful for players who have a high degree of skill. Perhaps you're unknowingly under the accuracy cap for you or your pet, or maybe you were overhealing too much?

That said, keeping the info private and enforcing punishment in anyone who uses it to harass is critical. Already the player base largely uses item levels as a form of elitism by setting their parties in the Party Finder several times higher than what is needed for the content. Best not to give them yet another tool to enforce their unfounded elitism with.

I think something like a few console commands that echo out basic info (Total DPS, effective DPS, misses, Critical hit rate, healing, total HPS, effective HPS, overhealing, etc) would be pretty nice. After which, choosing to disclose the info is up to the player.

If only you focused your Pony effort into Coil, you could have been a contender :)

I'll start at 9 Million gil and you can dock me 50K every time I fall. So at the end of the 2 hours I'll still get 1 Million or so.

Like people have stated above, an in-game meter would be a tool to improve one's own performance.

Of course people would whine if you're not doing DPS above certain numbers, but I fail to see how that is any different from what it is now. I mean, its actually worse currently. If some moron whines about someone being a bad player (even if they're not), weirdly it has a nasty habbit of sticking and soon enough people are voting to kick that player. People like to hand over blame to people even if dungeons and raids are group efforts - and they're doing this almost blindly. Common meters would tackle this efficiently and weed out total slackers.

Damage meter for one's own personal use would be good, but it doesn't take away my initial gripe. Raid leaders need tools. Item levels rarely tell anything about the player's skill level. Maybe I'm being a part of the problem though - I'm not overtly fond of the idea of using a 3rd party software. Partially because theres nothing stated publicly about not getting banned from using these things (?).

As a raid leader I don't really give a rat's ass what DPS people manage in a dungeon or even in raid if things work. I get interested in individual performances only when things don't work and I have to deal with the aftermath and running things. I don't expect everyone to put out 110% every time they do anything. It's a good way to burn oneself really fast. It's a game and people should have fun and be able to laugh at silly wipes. What I would expect is to have exact tools to see where the problems are if they arise and need to be looked into.

Speaking from a tanks perspective.

Okay so, Echo patch this week, supposedly. More curious about the Mechanical nerfs that'll come with it though, still need to farm a few things up for alt classes and such. Right now the only turn that's really pug farm friendly is T6, and even those are kinda hit or miss.

So, what does everyone think the mechanical nerfs will entail?

Also similar subject, what do people think the eventual somehow / someday Dragoon buffs are gonna look like?

Mainly just curious on that last one.

Korra....

Free, free free FREE.

Ask me any time, I'm usually not doing much outside of raid nights, and I'm not going to ask you for game money for doing something I enjoy doing anyway.

Besides, I feel kinda bad about rolling for and getting the last Levi pony. You obviously wanted it more.
