The allowance of people to help others do Coil even if they have already cleared for the week is likely why they are Coil only for now. A fair trade since WoD has crafted weapons.
There has been a lot of BLM talk recently and I was hoping I could get a few questions in. I just hit 31 yesterday, so these have to do with pre-50 content.
1. When should I be using my AoE spells in dungeons? Let's say the tank pulls 3 trash mobs, should I be using AoE vs Single target?
2. I have been relying on mission rewards for gear and realized yesterday how under-geared I am. At the moment I am a couple levels above the main story, so the rewards are always a couple levels below. Should I be buying my gear at this point in the game?
3. I was wondering if anyone had a HUD layout they would recommend. I have not messed around with the default config that much and was hoping to get some good ideas.

Ah that makes sense. I would love one of those crafted weapons, but I am sure they are too rich for my coffers. I will just stick with the relic quest for now and perhaps pick up a sold weapon too.

Looking at what the Allagan catalyst can be used towards, I really have no use for it. Probably will hold on to it when the MB price goes way up (seriously, two people already bought multiples of the item at 1mil a piece)

Are the Supras required to make the turn ins? I'm thinking they're 4 star so yes?
What are the stats on the Lucis stuff? What do your stats end up as with it equipped? Also what about the new crafter body? What are the stats on that? And how hard is it to make?
Ahhhh so many questions and I'm stuck at work...

Everyone gets an Allagan Catalyst just for finishing World of Darkness the first time. That price is already crashing, it was at 170k when I logged off from 1 million just a few hours ago.

Looks like catalysts can be obtained from desynthing CT and rowenas gear. Only WoD weapons need it right? Are they even good?

Happy patch day y'all. I actually woke up earlier than usual (unheard of!) to get a couple of story quests in before work.
I'm not a BLM, but I'll take a stab at answering your Q's.
1. I believe AOE spells are best used when it's over four enemies. If it's only a mob of three, I think it's better to attack each individually. Not sure about the damage output as a BLM, but as a MNK AOE attacks aren't really worth it on smaller mobs because the damage is low, but the attacks are extremely useful when the tank pulls a bunch of baddies.
2. Dungeons drop Ok loot at your stage in the game. It's worth running them for the EXP and the loot. You can also buy some decent equipment from your Grand Company using seals earned from leves or fates. I'm also a sucker for the market board when buying equipment for classes under lvl 50. Sometimes you get lucky and find a nice piece of equipment dirt cheap. Make sure to only buy HQ items, they're the ones with a bit of a bronze sheen to their icon. What I do is I search the MB for whatever armor, then scroll until I find one whose stats are equal or higher, click on there and look for the HQ version. I know some people are not fans of the MB, but it really helped gear me up on the way to the end game.
3. The HUD layout is really more of a personal preference. I've been playing this for a year and still tinker with it from time to time. I like the default layout but have moved some things around, like the alliance boxes, and made some things larger, like the chat box. Just keep playing and adjusting the HUD to whatever you find most useful.

Jesus, you work fast. I won't even get home to play for another 6 to 7 hours.
I assume the 3* 40 durability items don't need to be HQ right?
Also it's nice that you can now get HQ coke and other phylo mats, but I'm not sure that it's actually needed for anything.

WoD was fun, but in the end we checked strategies for stuff. Odin wasn't a very exciting fight - yeah, the damage was surprisingly big and we wiped once, but the encounter itself... Dodge orange circles, kill adds, done. I guess I shouldn't expect more from HM.
Wanderer's Palace was amazing. I actually felt sorry for the Tonberries. Well, at least until

Alright, I actually managed to get a new haircut thanks to the patch. They didn't do a good job of explaining what races they would be for, but male highlanders got 3 of them. None of them are amazing, but I was so sick of my long hair clipping thru my clothes.

I would assume level 20 chocobo when you have all 3 maxed, but don't know.
