Just fixed a broken image there, sorry about that.

I see what you mean. I thought it looked cool too, but the new UI maximizes on the space it takes up. It's more efficient now, I think.

That pointy thing is still for every other thing in the UI from what we've seen, like items and the menu.

The problem with directional buttons being mapped to weapon switching is that the UI has to reflect that. It takes up a lot of space.

I don't think it makes much of a difference space-wise but you might be right. I just feel it's weird how it has been taken out gradually since it seemed like a perfectly fine thing to have to me. It's the opposite of how I expected the UI design to progress.

Holy fucking hell. Everything I've seen a bout this game has been absolutely amazing and playing the demo was fantastic.

Day fucking 1

What looks empty? The enemy base? What do you expect from one?

Yeah the enemy base. I look at the fight sequences in video (like the one starting at 1:50 for example) and it just looks like a whole lot of floor with the occasional crate or stairway thrown in. It gives me the sense that the base is huge and yet filled with a whole lot of nothing. Like I said, it looks like it's expanded to give room for the actual gameplay which is fine. It just doesn't feel like a realistic industrial base to me.

That's usually what small enemy bases look like, lol

no mention about graphics resolution?
still 900p or they increase it to 1080p?
(sorry, watched in my phone)

I can't really tell from a Youtube video but the overall image quality does look to be improved, whether it's due to AA refinement or resolution change I'm not sure. It also may be that this is a dark area, which is usually flattering to a lot of games.

After playing Episode Duscae, the fighting and the camera seems a LOT better.

Framerate appears to be improved as well particularly with the last explosion just before the dragoon lady shows up.

That's pretty cool because almost all of my concerns since playing the demo and the 2.0 update seems to have been addressed.

Still hoping for dual-audio though.

This part of the stream was bad ass. Cant wait to see the ultimate weapons and late game high level moves.

Unbelievable. I hope they explain in the story how he has mastered so many weapon combat arts.

Now he really looks like
Sasuke.

This just looks terrible to me, almost everything about it lol.. but it's cool to see a lot of other gaffers are in to it. Maybe my idea of good final fantasy is dead forever.

I totally understand. I loved the UI design from E3 13. It's simple and easy to look at without taking too much space on screen/during gameplay.

As of now, the current UI looks like a merge of Type-0 and minimalism - looks very clustered especially when enemies on screen. I honestly hope Tabata can bring back the weapon display from the E3 UI.

Is it me or does anything think the appearance of the weapon wheel when Noct switches weapons look weird and out of place?
Yeah, I don't like that weapon circle effect either. Looked really unnecessary and cheap. Really hope they change it. Unfortunately Tabata seemed to be passionate about this particular effect :/

The only other thing I didn't like was the way Noctis slams or "floats" down with his spear during aerial combat. Looks very strange.

Other than that I loved it. The battle-theme seems to adapt to the area dynamically with a more military rhythm underneath. I hope that's the dynamic music implementation I wished for a few days ago. Would be great to have variety.

I think that the animation is unfinished, the swords are supposed to be glassy, look back at the E3 gameplay every time Noctis switched weapons the glassy swords would spin.

In general they did improve things greatly so I hope I didn't sound too negative there. Forget about Stella, the little UI diamond was my favourite character is all.

And I do hope they at least let me change the colour of the UI. I'd much prefer one in grey over blue. Much more neutral that way.

You mean it's terrible because it's ARPG instead of turn based or terrible because the combat is terrible even tho it's ok for a main FF game to have action combat?

Also, I think it's pretty safe to say don't trust SE when it comes to PR shots. Just look at the shadow rendering difference compared to last week's shot.

That's kind of THE thing of the royal family. They are the protectors of Lucis' crystal, so they are efficient with all kinds of weapons they can summon at will.

Probably turn based, which if that is the case Final Fantasy XV would be the opposite of what they would consider a good Final Fantasy.

I could respect that, but he or she should have made that clear instead of making a vague comment and then abandoning the thread.

I'm liking the use of robots/androids.

less human soldiers to kill = less ludonarrative dissonance

I definitely agree on this. And it's also going to make fights against humans feel much more important.

The robots do look pretty sentient though, so I hope they address how advanced they are in that regard. Because going around killing perfectly sentient robots would bother me just as much in that regard.

Wish the robots had robo blood though. :p

It is, we'll never get a game like 9 as a mainline FF again.

But this is Square's vision now, it looks interesting, but not the kinda JRPG that makes me excited.

The video looks massively better, what's the deal with Square screenshots making games look bad?

Ahem.

Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Man I just woke up feeling like DOGSHIT, then I watched this, now I feel full of life and energy. I am hyped.
