... Oh god that was great. Best part of the game so far. I´m in shock, how did SE create something so good. Everything about it just... wow.
Why did people not like it though? Seen comments about how bad it was? If it´s due to something happening in later chapters then please dont spoil. If not please do tell.

Still more reviews to come! Will take a small miracle to get back to 86, but it's possible!
For those of you struggling with combat against high level enemies - make sure you're always warping to high ground for fast regen, and learn Ignis' Regroup technique for a free group heal. Essential for long fights, and I can get through them without using items this way.

The way he says "nocT" makes my skin crawl but for the most part I think he (and the rest of the boyz) are surprisingly great.

Cause of the major story event. It felt shallow and a waste.

Having Luna die the moment Noct and her finally meet up feels like a waste. They could have at least have one scene together beforehand. Makes her character underwhelming and it makes it worse since she's the main female lead. Also I hated the fact that Ignis gets hurt off screen. Would have been really emotional if we saw it for ourselves.
The set piece itself was easy and looked cheap imo.

Prompto makes fun of it too during one of the side quest. Prompto always speaks what I think in different situations. I like this character.

Its shit on the Pro for me. I have been really impressed with every game ive played on my PRO so far, even though im on 1080p telly. This, however, looks really bad, blurry textures, just all around subpar. Dunno why since everyone else is raving about how good it looks, but compared to the IQ of WD2 or TF2 this looks majorly crap on my console.

Oh cool, I lost my team mates in a dungeon. Sweet glitch. Can't even seem to save and reload, so I had to exit to the start of the dungeon and do it from the start for the third fucking time.
Played for 2.5 hours tonight and have made literally no progress. Cool delay, glad they got rid of all the game issues.

Honestly, I think you could fairly demand a stay on judgement. There are only 32 registered scores on Metacritic, which is pretty low yet.

Be cautious and use L1 or square (please use control type B) to dodge and don't button mash. Game is mechanically pretty challenging for an RPG tbh.
Also don't use the heavy weapons so much because they offer huge windows for the enemies ot stagger you.

I'm actually not bonding with the party yet, I find them very dull. I'm still running around chapter 3 though so hopefully they're more rounded as the story goes on
Played seven hours, up to Chapter 3. I don't think I'm ever going to like the combat in this game but it's okay because I do like the general flow of doing all the sidequests so I'm massively overleveled to the point I don't really have to worry about it.
Story is badly written and directed, as are the cutscenes. They remind me of the ones in Type-0 more than anything else (with similar flaws). The bros are charming enough but really shallow. I don't feel like I'm really learning anything about them or what motivates them. The supporting cast might as well be invisible for all the impression they've made so far.

Have not been drawn into a game like this for quite some time. I clocked in 7 hours yesterday, I had no idea the time flew like that but I am enjoying the hell out of this game. Sure it has it's faults - the car driving blows and is on rails to name the immediate one I noticed but it's a joy to play.

Hmm, what's worth going for first in the Ascension tree, all the Teamwork stuff, or the 99 stats. Currently level 23. Damage is feeling really lackluster, not sure what would give it the biggest boost.
Combat tree is mostly finished, barring the last of everything.
EDIT: I'm curious, how many people are playing with Wait mode?

Noctis is the most OP main character in an FF game ever. He can fight with ANY weapon and teleport everywhere. Too bad they don't show how he got so strong.
It was always the thing I was looking forward to most. These guys are fucking awesome. Their interactions are great and remind me of an expanded version of what I loved about X-2.
Game is amazing*.
*I couldn't care less about narratives in videogames. Gameplay, music, characters, graphics, dungeons, monsters are all first class in this game.

If you attempt to drive the car at night, Ignis should let you choose a 'head back to town' option that'll bring the car with you. Then just get back in the car, fast travel to the nearest point to your mission and continue. You shouldn't lose more than an hour of daylight.
Don't choose Return to Rest Point, always use Return To Car even at night. At least, that's how I've been doing it. These days I just call a chocobo and head for a haven or outpost if I'm close enough to one.

Have you not watched Brotherhood/Kingsglaive? Gladio's job was teaching Noct how to fight and the teleport thing is just in his blood.

So basically if the car warps with you at the first one, it's all gravy.
They should change that, yeah. I actually thought that that was how it was already.
Side note, you can also have the car towed to your location.
Their banter and their whole being together is part of 'narrative' though. Or at least, it is in my opinion. I guess it depends on how you choose to define it.
It's pretty rage inducing.
