Just got the monster whistle in Chapter 4 and I ran to a field to use. Why are no monsters spawning? Is there a specific area or way I'm supposed to use this?

You're not wrong that I need to take a break. All this car/loading/fast traveling is awful. The biggest kick in the face is when this guy has to constantly interrupt me to tell me that it's dangerous to drive at night, and after watching that stupid cutscenes and telling him to fuck off, I can't even fast travel until morning which means more loading screens.
This game is such a letdown.

Under 30 seconds most of the time. Basically even if you can see the car it's faster to "return to the car" than walking to it.
Often white loading line just skips thr last 2/3
Has anyone flipped difficulty to Easy?
I've done well on Normal (and even Hard!) for action RPGs in the past, but I'm getting absolutely railed in this game on level-appropriate content. Something just isn't clicking for me I guess. Getting so frustrated.
I kind of just want to do away with the difficulty barrier and experience the story and journey like everyone else. I've been stuck on the god damned second dungeon in the game for like, hours. I feel pathetic.
Same here. Burned out huge on this game on Wednesday and haven't played since. I really want to love it like my friends but I just can't when I get wiped out so easily too on top of these insane loads and asinine design choices.

You can get an item from sidequest that claims to speed it up to 60 mph.
Yup, same here. 24 hours of game time and I'm still in Chapter 3. LOL.

It might be the worst section to ever be in a mainline Final Fantasy. They really should have cut it out of the game or just made it play normally.

Lvl 22/Ch 3 here and I get creamed almost everytime there's an Imperial dropship. Ill be fighting my hunting mark and out of nowhere theres like 20 red lasers on my back.

This is one the things that made picking up an LG 4K OLED for Black Friday worth it for me. The rendering looks absolutely amazing on this TV and I can literally just watch scenery for hours. When I play on my older Vizio 1080p LCD, it definitely looks like just a launch PS4 game.

That chapter was quite long. Not sure exact but 3 hours I assume?
I thought he was annoying but tolerable and that the thing that would push me over the edge was if they made him say fugedaboutit and they fucking did it.

That's probably exactly why some people like him. In a sort of ironic "So bad it's good way", but I dunno man, doesn't work for me in this case. The mismatch between his voice and looks/mannerisms in the english dub is just *too* much. Did no-one who worked on the localization even see how the character was supposed to look beforehand?

Same here. Even on my crappy H8C HDR and 4k look amazing!!! Honestly in spots this looks better than Uncharted 4. HDR does so much to make crappy textures "pop". I look forward to these rides!
This is literally the most impressive game from technical perspective I've played this year.

I cursed at the combat locking system yesterday a few times when I kept hitting the wrong target with my super expensive Dual Firaga x99 spells. I would by pretty damn sure I was locked onto an enemy in the middle of the group for maximum damage and it would switch last minute to some random guy behind me

Wish he wasn't in the game to be honest. I mean Cindy stands out bad enough as it is with her awful VA but Dino took it to whole new levels. Way too many damn quests coming from that guy too and he just keeps resurfacing for some reason.
It means you're gonna have a hard time finishing it. You can't heal in dungeons.

Whenever you lose all your HP and start limping around, damage decreases your max HP when you're hit (untill you straight up die). Only way to get that back is to rest or use specifik potions i think.

Pretty sure it only works where monsters spawn naturally. So you can beat a group then resummon them, but someone else will have to confirm...
@mediking: yo, you enjoying the game so far? Full battle system is basically everything I was hoping for. Feels so good when you string together a sweet multi-warp combo.

Just woke up and saw this. Thanks sounds pretty useful. I'll get it when I have enough AP, since I've been spending it in exploration and random stuff in combat. I do like the skills that work in the air, makes the lance and sword feel much better and give you more control once you are off the ground. Only problem is that you don't seem to get blindside bonus when doing air combos, but it feel like Noctis is more flexible once he is in the air compared to the ground with the sword and lance. Lance is probably my favorite weapon so far, though dual knives aren't too shabby.
On Chapter 9 now, I'm still in awe that the game still hasn't even bothered to touch the subjects of the Empire's nature or motivation, what the fuck an Oracle is and why they don't want her speaking in public, or anything at all really.
Basically so far it's akin to "go on about and collect the chaos emeralds, and there is some sort of cliched japanese video game priestess you should marry because...because....hey look there a sidequest!" and that's it

I am really enjoying this but getting to places with the car is a pain. Sometimes it lets me fast travel to places using quest marker sometimes it wont. And yes these are places i visited because i can fastwarp to the nearest parking spot. The car is just too slow in every way. Getting in, getting out. And dont get me started on driving at night i heard it can be perilous.

I am LOVING the game so far. I really got into customization and side quests. Voice acting isnt bad. Story is.... well... lol the script needs help but the combat!!! MY BOY! This combat is GOOD. I abuse WARP STRIKE all the time!
You can make it faster by doing Cindy's side quest for various parts.

Anyone else finding the game to be challenging, but at the same time not challenging? It's weird. Like, the actual fights are pleasantly tough, but at the same time I never feel like I'm in danger of getting a game over since I'm so stocked with Elixrs and Megalixrs and Phoenix Downs and Mega-Phoenixes that I can pretty much withstand anything.
That's fine though, since given the way the game's checkpoint system works, getting a game over would likely result in a ton of lost progress.
