The loading times in this game when trying to do lots of quests or hunts are unbearable.
On PS4 pro with SSD installed the load times are great! :p

In general this game feel like first "next gen" game to me on PS4 pro. HDR and high res make huge difference!

I really, really love the loop in this game of camping and preparing for a day of questing then coming back to cash in the experience and repeating the process with my new abilities, recipe buffs, etc. I like having a defined beginning and end to my play sessions. Reminds me a lot of Dragon's Dogma or Monster Hunter and other handheld hunting style games and a couple old school CRPGs and pen and papers.

Fishing was confusing and bad at first, but after spending some time training, I'm starting to enjoy it. There's actually a surprising amount of depth.

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Played about 2 hours last night, game felt really clunky at first (I HATE the camera and controls when inside buildings, just feels weird) but I slowly started to get the hang of the combat system...

A few questions:

* The meals only last till you go to sleep, right? So if one meal says "increases MAX HP", that only lasts till I camp?

* What are some good Ascension skills to focus on? The passive AP boosts for doing stuff like driving and such seem useful.

* The photos I can save, is there any real purpose to them beyond sharing with friends?

Hope to really play this game the next day I have off.

HOW DO YOU SPEED UP IN THE REGALIA?

JESUS CHRIST

I HATE DRIVING THIS SHIT

Ignis does all the driving cause I cannot fucking change gears on Xbox One. How do you speed up???

I was on a hunt and some of those soldiers got dropped off on top of the monsters I was fighting. I cast blizzard and the game froze then crashed, lol. I lost all of my progress from like 45 min ago :(

Chapter 10 minor spoilers:

God, the bro feels are strong here. Ignis and Gladio are breaking my heart. Great dungeon and boss fight (Marlboro) too.

As disjointed as the story is, I think I'll remember the 15 bros for a while, Square completely nailed that part so far.

This is the saddest chapter, because its just fucking good. Fully showed the potential this story had.

Another question: are Prompto's snaps (photos) scripted? Everybody gets the same ones if they visit the same areas?

Quest related ones are scripted but everything else isn't. What's funny is that the NPC behaviours are still running even during the scripted ones so I've had some pretty funny photo bombs by imperial dropships and monsters.

PS4 Pro with a good SSD is the solution to all your problems :p
I know you're joking (?) but I hate when people say this shit. I'm doing hunts and stupid collection quests and all the driving and loads times DO suck. I guess I should just skip this stuff because I'm not having much fun.

The FFXV GAF HYPE CREW!!! BOYZ!

I loved chapter 9-12. The
leviathan
battle visually was just insane. Probably the most visually impressive scene of this generation. What was the wizardry they pulled off to get this to run at stable fps.

Currently on 13. This is bad. It's too long!

Ignis going blind really made me warm up to him a lot. The lack of cooking options, the passive aggressive dialogue, and change of tone was really effective..

FMA spoiler

Reminded me of when Mustang went blind. I hate that depressing shit!!

Happened to me too, but I lost 10 minutes. XD

1. There's a time at near your HP or under the middle bottom of the screen, not sure if there's enough time and you slept it'll continue to the next day.

2. Regroup for Ignis, Choco exploration gives AP, increased warp damage.

3. Not sure, it may increase Prompto's camera lvl?

Right there with you. Having a miserable time with the game in Chapter 3 because I hit a harsh difficulty wall in the second dungeon and going out and doing quests and hunts is taking ages because of the awful loading times. Like 45+ seconds per fast travel. Camping/Resting manages to take like a full five minutes between all the drawn-out cutscenes, menus and loads. So boring.

I'm still in chapter 1 after like 8 hours. I discovered a dungeon near the hunter settlement all the way to the north, and some woman in front warned me that It's pointless to move on without a key. I soldiered on anyway and true enough, at the end there was this giant gate that I needed a key for. I suppose I can't get that key yet? And is that dungeon optional or something I *need* to go to, eventually.

Kinda wish the game had more enemy encounters, even on foot you often have long stretches of running through the world with nothing happening. Does that change in later chapters?

So far the game reminds me a lot of Dragon's Dogma with maybe not quite as intricate combat but a more interesting world. Love the mix of the downright realistic southern setting combined with outlandish monsters and downright alien landscapes.

Kinda torn on the VA choice. Before I started, japanese VA was a no-brainer, but the way a lot of the dialogue is delivered as you're exploring the enviroments it can be a bit hard to follow the subs. But then I check out videos of the english dub and hear Dino, so I dunno. I think I'll stay with japanese for now.

And a little question...so far the only item under the treasure category that seems to be of use are the repair kits? I used them to help two NPC's whose identical looking cars broke down. They're also the only treasure item where the description doesn't mention they'd make for a good amount of gil, so I hope I did the correct choice in always selling all the other treasures, or can some of them be used for other purposes as well?

FF15 is a weird mix of FF12 and Dragon's Dogma. Worse than both but has this special charm.

And the whole long wait time for this game... it just does not feel BAD or DISAPPOINTING. Just... different?

Thank you. I'm also killing time in chapter 3 but I'm not actually PLAYING the game very much.

I have it all set to auto. Should I force YUV420?

Hmm... Maybe I'll try to make some adjustments and see if I can't get it to work, then.

edit:

OK, after turning the in-game brightness all the way down, it looks fantastic now!

It should be RGB if you have a B6... not sure with other TVs

There's no excuse to have so few attires imo

For DLC/microtransactions prob

Guys idk what to do. When I play the game, I want to explore, and take my sweet ass time... but at the same time it's killing me that I have to avoid every corner of the internet.

What are you doing on the internet instead of playing?

what do you mean? you have a max speed and can only increase it by getting items for the car. or you hold right trigger

Max speed in Chapter 1 is like 20 mph? I mean the car runs at snail speed even if I hold the RT for 5 mins. And while Ignis drives the car runs faster!!! How come?

Guys seriously how do I gain speed in Regalia?

Please answer.

There are quests that give you installable components, the speed one seems to be behind a blockade that opens up later in the game.

Invest in your chocobo and give it curiel greens at camp and it'll be faster than your car without the road limitations. Only drive the car to locations you can't fast travel to.

Question of my own:

Found the side dungeon Costlemark, at one point during exploring Gladio says "there's something down there" so I dropped down and found a mega-phoenix, but there's no way to get back up and it's just a circular platform with no exit. Is this what dungeoneering is going to be, full of "return to entrance"?

Just ate something called spicy skewer in the shop in that first town you go to. It was the first food that looked legit disgusting. Benefits of it are pretty nice though

Distant Worlds in Singapore got the premiere of their performance of Apocalypsis Noctis tonight~

Too bad I haven't even played FFXV! Is it the final boss theme?

Calm down lol

I thought the smiley would point out the jesting. But either way, the game just got released and sold a whopping 5 million, its bound to get a sizeable amount of patches/support from Square in the coming months in preparation for DLC.

And take a break between sessions if the loading is affecting you this much, you shouldnt be this antagonistic so early and its going to burn you out man.

Man XIII had such good music. After I and VII XIII has the most memorable music for me.

XV music has not really stuck with me yet but at least it has great music from the older games.

How does summoning work?

I got Titan and Ramuh and Titan never showed up for me but very soon after getting Ramuh I was able to summon him 2 times within an hour. Is it random? How can I choose who to summon? etc?
