The Cleigne battle theme...holy god.

I take back saying nothing in this game comes close to the XIII soundtrack or blinded by light.

That battle theme is GOAT

When cooking something at camp, do you just need one of each ingredient? Not sure how to interpret the numbers. Is it showing how many I'm holding or how many is needed?

I was wondering that as well, it only shows you how many of each item you've got

It may be a bit early to ask, but is there a full quest list available? There are quests that don't pop up on the map, like helping people or helping cook.

Screwed up. Went too heavy on side quest and now I'm over leveled to the point where the story is a cake walk. Whatever. The side quest aren't even that interesting, but gotta check those boxes.

The story is so awkwardly told though. The silly nature of the road trip clashes with the more dramatic main storyline. I really don't like how WRPG they went.

The game also needed tactics. Prompto should not in the midst of combat like a Tank. Fall back.

I've finally figured out why I dislike the battle system so much.

Doing a fort capture mission. It's near my level. Should be alright. Fight through waves and waves of dudes only to be greeted with two mechs. I can't damage either enough to win, but I have 20+ phoenix downs and 10+ megaphoenixes. By the time I've burned through all of these items I've been fighting for 40 minutes and the mechs are only at half health. I end up dying. What a waste of my fucking time. As it was a base capture assault I couldn't run away. At no point did Ignis's libra activate properly. At no point could I tell which attack was insta-wiping my party members, or have any control over them not getting wiped by it. These enemies were close to my level, yet unbeatable. On the other hand I took care of a lvl 72 earlier. No consistancy.

Summary:
-Enemy levels are meaningless bullshit in this game
-Enemies are 'bullet sponge' wars of attrition
-You can't save your party members from being insta-wiped vs powerful enemies, there's no 'hold back' or 'defend' setting, no AI control at all
-Libra simply doesn't seem to work, or at the least it's super inconsistent, so knowing which weapon / element you're supposed to be using is way, way harder than it should be and often seems impossible
-It can be impossible to know what's hitting you, or which specific attack is the one wrecking you or your party
-Because you can heal again and again and again, you can end up surviving half an hour or more in a battle you don't have the damage to win, which just wastes your time and burns through all of your items. If you don't have the option to run away, you're fucked.

It's pretty to look at, but it's shit. The game has wasted so much of my time today...

EDIT: OH FUCK my last save is inside this fortress! Fuck! This might be it for me....

Quay has a 2x hotel. In Altissia, there's a 3x one. Don't worry about that one until
Ch. 9
though.
Hmm, I should look for that one. Is it North or South?

Also is it important that I use phasing to evade attacks? Because I almost never use it during my fights. I only parry or jump out of the way.

Early game and gun-weilding niff soldiers keep dropping out of the sky in droves. Am I supposed to run away from them or what? There's usually about a dozen and all I can see are laser sights everywhere, and they seem to reappear as fast as I can kill them.

If you are using all your TP on regroup or other support moves the battle is going to take a lot longer.

Also need to make sure to take advantage of blindside and link strikes, they really speed up the fights.

Food buffs are also no joke.

Abuse magic if you aren't already doing that.

Prompto got a really cool shot of Noctis fighting a Bandersnatch with
Gentiana photobombing in the background. Got the trophy too.

It's near Dino, to the left of the female chef in red.

Yea, quite important, especially later on. Some moves just seem impossible to consistently parry.

Fight them until you get bored. For myself in particular, it became a great way to rack up AP.

My only complain so far is that some of the side quests are so freaking retarded... Comon. Mind your trap? Really? u want me to find 5 brown traps on the ground that are also have similar in color. How can some one with a brain creates these quests?

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.

I got the trophy near the same spot but honestly can't see shit in the picture, lol. I think a chocobo blocked the view.

Why the forced stealth for Deadeye? I don't see the purpose behind sneaking around and following it rather than just fighting it early on.

No idea but stealth is sadly an element of the game in other parts so I guess they wanted to introduce it there.

It's pretty funny since that segment is linear so you're not really tracking him anywhere.

I beat it and all i can say is that it felt like i was playing only parts of a brilliant game. I feel like i didnt get the full story and it felt like i didnt get the full content(some continents/cities were missing)major spoiler:
insomnia not being fully explorable is the greatest let down of my gaming life
.

It was good but im walking away more disappointed than happy. The ending was good and the four main characters were great. Sometimes i wish they were the only characters since they were the only ones who were actually fleshed out. Ardyn seemed like a really good villain, but its clear there is a lot of his back story missing. Luna is literally just there... they completely fumbled her.

In the end they rushed a product and didnt realize the full potential.

Is there anything more satisfying than fighting those centipede monsters with a greatsword?

*CRUNCH*

Also...(possible spoiler for optional fight)
Just found myself fighting a Griffon while trying to find another mark. It ended up catching Noct in its claws and swooping off with him, had to warp out and land on a nearby outcrop before presumably being carried off to its nest or dropped from a hundred feet up. Only narrowly killed it thanks to Ramuh and his awe-inspiring summon animation.

Still loving almost everything about the game.

This Deadeye fight is ass. Trying to aim spells at the barrels is atrocious. Ran out of fire, and it doesn't look like they give you any.

Why are all my party members idiots?
