And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Where are the hard optional dungeons? no spoilers please. I'm at chapter 12.

Encountered a funny glitch last night.... don't know what happened but I was under attack by Daemons and
Aranea came down from her ship and helped me. She left later on and then I was driving and just saw her on the road jumping up and then back down up and then back down.
What? xD

The more I think about it, the more I'm annoyed that everything people harp on Dragon Age: Inquisition for they give this game a pass with - 8 billion MMO fetch quests, wide open spaces with nothing in them, no incentive to move the plot forwards, lame villains. At least DAI's story is actually halfway good. Hell I think I like DAI's world better because it's at least more varied than grass, grass, bush, truck stop, grass, grass, water, grass. Emprise du Lion and Emerald Graves ftw.

honeymoon phase will end soon. At least the combat in here is more fun.

Can anyone tell me what quest line I need to do to
get the regalia airship mod?

Level 41 and I've only parked at Lestallum still LOL. So easy to overlevel in this game. The worst part is, once you're overleveled, you feel like taking on the more challenging stuff. For instance, now I feel like actually completing the first optional dungeon... then perhaps I'll continue Chapter 3.

Slow down a bit there... you're appropriately leveled for the final boss already.

Finally was able to get a couple hours in, just messing around Leide.

Few nagging things that may just me missing something but:

- when buying weapons at a shop, is there no way to compare the attack power of what you are buying vs. what you already have in inventory? It shows Noctus's primary weapon stats (I guess, top slot) but no way to compare to say, what I have equipped in the right slot.
- when driving, is there no way to bring up a playlist or otherwise a simpler way to pick tracks of what is playing in the background? I can skip one by one but that takes forever after adding a few games to my list.
- when bringing up the item menu (R2?) it will always have names grayed out if I want to say, use a potion on myself or someone else. Is this limited to in battle only or are there other requirements?

Otherwise, it is a marked improvement over my last experience with the game (platinum and duscae) on my regular old PS4. Some stuff is pretty off putting to me but I need to give the game more time before I can say how I really feel.

Ugh but I want to do all the dungeons and tombs before beating the game :( maybe that's not even possible. Every time I turn the game on I fight between doing side stuff and continuing with the main story. Side stuff wins almost every time. Funny how overwhelmed I am already when I'm still only in Chapter 3.

Seriously tho this game is taking over my life (not good since my first final is in 9 days). The last time this happened to me was when I played through The Last Story. Before that, with Final Fantasy XIII. Before that, Lost Odyssey. Seriously, I'm 18 hours in, the game released 5 days ago. I typically play games on average 1-2 hours a week... sometimes not even that.

There's just something magical about the Final Fantasy/Sakaguchi touch.

I just started playing the actual game after taking some time to watch the anime and movie. And honestly, as much as XIII had a slow corridor start, I almost wish this one didn't go quite so far in the other direction. I did go through the tutorials, but I still kind of feel lost in battles, not really sure what the best approach to them is. I wish they would've opened up the battle system over time, maybe over the first hour instead of all at once, I just feel like I'm doing things and I don't know why, especially with so many characters in my party from the start. Same with the story, I kind of feel like I have all these random inconsequential things I can do, but I'm not really sure if I should bother. A lot of little questions left unanswered, like how often I should sleep/camp and if there is a downside to it, how I really should be approaching combat, and when/if I should be doing these extra activities or looting these random things in the world or visiting these random points on my map.

I know it will probably all come with more time with the game, but definitely feeling a little lost right now, while simultaneously not really feeling a whole lot of story motivation pressing me forward. As much as people hated FF XIII, to me at least the corridor intro and action-y beginning got me quickly invested and taught me things slowly over time.

I like the idea of getting stuck in "dustbowl" redneck country as a prince and his entourage and then REALLY getting stuck there and taking on hunting jobs to keep busy, keep sane and to get by. Serves its purpose quite clearly and effectively to me.

I mean, the older games' overworlds didn't need to be as big as they were either other than simply selling the size of the world (and making you get into random battles during your trek).

Haven't beaten Chapter 3 yet

I can't help myself

As long as you are having fun, I basically did the same thing. I don't regret it. Don't be afraid to push the chapter to 8 though, you open up some awesome side stuff after that.

Best side quests I have done so far.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

Agreed. Also after playing the Inquisition DLC(all excellent) and replaying Origins recently I came away far more impressed with how that franchise turned out. There is a very impressive throughline that many won't likely notice among the trilogy of games in terms of lore, characters, and events that span the games. Many of which I wasn't quite aware of until I replayed Origins again.

Granted, Inquisition still had problems with its combat and sidequest tedium, yet I fail to see how either are any better in XV at all in my time with the game.

As repetitive as a lot of side quests are what kept me going was the dialogue made specifically for almost all of them, regardless of how small. Even though the travelling in car sucks I have to say that in terms of open world, this is one of my favourites. Simply so much to do.

Shame after the open world aspect the game went severely downhill in my opinion. Some chapters were good but overall just felt rushed and disjointed from the first half of the game.

Only have 4 trophies left to collect, the ones for getting fishing, photography etc to level 10 but I can't be bothered with that. Hopefully there's some open world DLC coming rather than just linear stuff.

I too liked DA:I, personally. But then again I also liked FO4...

Honestly each of those games have flaws, but I just like 'em 'cause they give me a world with characters on a scale and with a distinct identity that you don't get everyday. Sometimes I do think DA:I gets a bit more conflicting hate than it needs to but nevertheless, to each their own.

...even so, I like Final Fantasy the most simply because it is Final Fantasy, and none of the rest are. The decade-long unfilled hole has finally been occupied -- least for me -- in an extraordinarily realized way and it's good to be back.

I like the game and all but Luna is so incredible disappointing. Nothing so far as captured the awe of the Stella-Noct showdown.

I've said it before but that really was one of the things that grabbed me most about the setting, that relationship between Stella and Noctis. Coulda been more interesting imo, but hey, it took a bullet for the game so it could emerge from its development hell, I'll honor it for that. xP

This game really doesn't communicate its combat system very well. 25 hours in and I JUST figured out there were timing based moves. I kept wondering why I did a big aoe sweep attack.

There is a wonderful scene in one of the later chapters.
End of Chapter 9
It is so good. Except it is hard to really care for it. But it is testament to the scene that you do. This game. High highs, and low lows.

I really can't understand why the story is so poorly told as it is. Needed a few months of extra work in the script or some more attention to detail to how they told the story at least. Think they tried to do make the story exist beyond you and your group , ala real life in a way, but when you constantly scratching your head at what is happening it gets frustrating. You eventually learn what is happening, but you are so out of the moment when you do.

Having said that , i am really enjoying the game.

Up to Chapter 9. Is there any explination
why Gladiolus dissapeared for that Party of Three Chapter and returns with the scars ("You should see the other guy")
. Seemed pretty random.
