The platinum is easy
save for having to walk worth 20-30 hours

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

The only way to level up Gladio's survivalist skill is to walk. So if you want, don't take the Regalia and just walk to your destination.

Or you could use the rubberband technique on the analogs and leave your PS4 on overnight.

The platinum is easy actually save for having to walk worth 20-30 hours to max Gladio's Survivalist, maybe as easy as Type-0 and much much much easier than FFXIII's (because it's incredibly grindy).

What's the estimated TTP? (time to Platinum)

Speaking about the platinum, the platinum trophy, max survivalist trophy and max cooking trophy are still one of the rarest trophies according to PSNProfiles, they have a percentage of 1.30% 1.72%, and 1.92% retrieval, consecutively.

What's the estimated TTP? (time to Platinum)

55-60 hours.

Is there any protocol to follow in order to activate L2 and execute the summons? I just finished Chapter 9 after doing many sidequests throughout Duscae and since i have Ramuh and Titan, only Ramuh has been summoned only 1 time on the first infiltration mission to the enemy base. (and i think that summon was forced)

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
Has anyone been able to upload videos on PS4 specifically for this game? I keep getting errors. I have a hilarious one for chapter 13. :(

Lol I guess this answers my time to platinum question.

Did you rush or played at a normal pace? How much side content is not covered by trophies that you are aware of?

You don't need to do all sidequests. 80 sidequests is enough over the 100++ sidequests, and the photo ops and hidden mini-sidequests (broken cars, injured hunters) count as a sidequest.

Heck you don't even need to max the Ascension grid, just get the cheapest skills and you're good to go.

Man, late game needs some easier ways to level up. I did fine until the final chapter then get obliterated by most everything. Managing to scrape by.

Edit: I'm a massive idiot.

Kinda want to grab all the Royal Arms before I continue with the story. In already overleveled anyhow, may as well make it more epic lol

Does wait mode stop working on higher level hunts? I just did a level 25 and 28 one and even though it said I was in wait mode the game wouldn't pause and I couldn't scan enemies.

Hold L2 while not getting hit. That's all there is to it.

It's not impossible. It's high level content meant to test your skills.

No I believe it was in fact not playtested. That place glitched out on me MORE than ENTIRE REST OF THE GAME. Enemies would constnatly get locked in an infinite attack loop: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLAp4eIEVM4

I'd randomly not be able to use Magic anymore, despite not having any status effect (I dunno if this game even has silence) and there are encounters that aren't even "hard" as much as they are broken by design, like 3 Red Giants. The problem isn't that they hit hard and stuff, is that they spam their magnet move and it's literally physically impossible to fight while one of those moves is on the screen. They basically pause the battle for 5 seconds every 3 seconds. It's literally an equivalent of somebody just randomly reaching towards your controller and pressing pause every 3 seconds. If they gave any tool to interrupt that magnet move, like warping into their arms to make it stop or something, it'd be an actual challenge, but as it is, it just literally putting fight on pause... and they spam it...

No joke, over-leveling is the primary reason I still play JRPGs. LIKE UNTO A GOD is such a good feeling.

So just need to max survival to get the platinum trophy. Maxing fishing was definitely the most tedious part of this whole thing since I actually had to pay attention. At least with survival I can just leave the game on and do something else. The level 55+ post game is really disappointing and I don't want to do it, otherwise I might have finished maxing the skill naturally.

My closing thought now that I'm completely done with the game:
I don't think I'll ever replay it like I do on the regular for FFIV to XII, since honestly XV is just not as great like those games were back in the day. However, it did use up 50 hours of my life, so ultimately I still had a pretty good time with it.

This game just makes we want a game with wandering chocobo mounted knights as the main characters in a FF12 sequel open world.

Pretty much played at a normal pace. I actually over leveled myself from doing side quest before I finished the main story.

....So, I'm glad I got to see this game come, I'm glad I got to experience what it had to offer, and I'm glad for the team at SE for making it through hell. This was possibly the most consistently fulfilling game experience I had all year.

[Other thoughts redacted]

...and yeah. I'll save those for another thread. In the meantime, cheers, Square Enix, and here's to the future!

Ahem. *slips into spoiler thread*

Okay, this is so freaking weird. I was literally just watching my roommate go exploring on chocobo-back and I was thinking how much I wanted exactly the same thing.

What the heck.

In other news. I FINALLY got my Ultimate Collector's Edition. So fucking happy right now. This thing is beautiful. :)

Ha. You look like me right now. Been playing my other copy of the game for days before the UCE came in.

That Play Arts Kai Noct is pretty sweet. Never had one before. Posable even in crazy acrobatic poses thanks to its included stand.

Wtf am I supposed to do in Costlemark?
I'm in the room with the cubes but I can only interact with one and all it does it lead me back to the same room. I dropped down to the bigger room that red giant spawns in but everything lead me to a dead end.

Post Game: What's a good level to take on
Adamantoise?

You can start taking him on at 45+ actually.

One of the cubes is the right path actually, the others lead to the wrong path. My right route was the North West cube I believe.

I'm frustrated.

I can't figure this out, I'm using wait mode in combat and when I warp up to higher ground to regain MP and HP it pauses after a while and my guy falls to the ground, suffering damage. I can't warp strike down or exit the pause he falls.

Yeah, I KNEW that my UCE would not arrive on time, so I also bought a physical Day One Edition (Which I will sell, of course).

There's no way I could wait a week to play this game while avoiding spoilers for much longer.

The thing is I can't interact with any of them except for one of them.

Interesting, I'm guessing this game took the Type-0 HD approach to trophies then.

Yeah clearly this battle system is not to my style

I need to find a playstyle that makes it bearable because right now its frustrating the hell out of me

Up to chapter 8. Chapter 7 was interesting in that
Dragoon lady joined your party.
On another note, I actually kind of wish that the
guest characters would join the party permanently.
I could have done with some more
Highwind and Iris
action.

Had a nasty bug in the Ch 7 dungeon though. If you used lock on to fight then the camera would be in a fixed position when you got out of combat. Had that bug and another today out in the open field where my party just straight up didn't fight anymore.

One last thing, the animations are so good and might be one of the top stars of the show. Noctis hurt his hand or something (character spoiler)
and Iris took a look at it, and then he patted her shoulder and she did a twirling/super excited
emote. Really fun.

the worst things about the combat in the game to me was:

1) noctis sometimes does not dodge attacks while in phase mode... it's cheap as hell.
2) the parry system is a very cheap shortcut and always feels like a get out of jail free card when things get too hectic.
3) you can't really tell your party members to back away. relying on the technique system is too rigid and is often unreliable because we fall back to ignis' position regardless of where he is (usually the middle of the mob).
4) taking falling damage because point-warping is bugging out.

Really enjoyed the game, thought it was pretty great overall

That said Zegnautus Keep is among the most tedious zones I've ever played in any game. I have no idea what the devs were thinking when they designed it...

Just reached chapter 5 after almost 30 hours. I've actually been having way too much fun with side quests so I'm almost lvl 40 :lol Sucks that chapter 3 and 4 were so short! I saw that people don't like ch 4, why? I didn't really notice anything wrong with the cutscenes there or shortly after, at the start of 5. Of course I have info gaps and wonder what the fudge Titan was talking abokt but so does everyone else in the story at this point.
