This does stop happening eventually, you just need to prove to ignis that you can handle yourself. (I don't know what actually causes this to trigger.)

I think it happens once you reach level 30. He deemed me 'worthy' once I did and finally agreed to drive at night.

FINALLY after a few tries, I finally go through that terrible CostleMark Dungeon. Now I just need to get Noctis, Ignis, and Gladio's skills up and I will have the platinum.

Are you fucking kidding me right now. I'm just going through the mess of tight corridors and horrible camera angles that is the Crestholm Channels and I was fighting the Naga boss, and I summoned Ramuh, and now my camera is stuck in one position and will not move at all. Nothing that I've tried has fixed it and it's making this dungeon absolutely impossible

Edit: oh thank god, using Ignis's Regroup fixed it.

Uuuuuuuuuughhh just had my first crash in the middle of a dungeon right as I was camping. It tried to load a photo and crashed.

Is there any surefire way to
summon Ramuh and/or Titan? Seems like holding L2 and sitting around doesn't do much :(

I've not seen a way yet. Not sure if fast travel will push time forward?

I have grinded my fishing stat at night though when not wanting to cash out xp to rest. While fishing, none of the enemies seem to bother you as I had a few iron giants on screen making ruckus but they couldn't do a thing while Noctis had his fishing pole out. By the time I clear out a spot of fish its usually morning anyway(and I can even rush over to the iron giants for free xp as they burn to death in the morning sun!)

Thanks, and good idea. While I have hated myself enough in the past to max out fishing in XI & XIV, I'm having a hard time caring about it in this. Maybe I'll get it over with using your strat =)

They have their own conditions for showing up but once the music changes and particles are in the air holding l2 summons then surefire.

That Naga boss was 10x harder than the dungeon's final boss because of the camera. Used so many pots.

I am trying to avoid this and all FFXV threads cause I haven't played the game but I gotta ask...

please refrain from answering if the answer requires spoiling anything important.

why are some people saying SE released an unfinished game? what does that mean??

Lmao, now the camera keeps breaking as soon as I enter any fight. Awesome.

Though on actually awesome news, I just got the Auto-changer accessory for Noctis that automatically switches his weapons after every attack, so flashy!

There are places where it seems like stuff is missing story wise.
Still a great game though all things considered.

I'm loving this game. One of the absolute best Final Fantasy titles I've ever played. In fact, this might end up being the first Final Fantasy I complete.

I'm at Chapter 6, 28 hours in, level 44.

It means that people really like utilizing non sequiturs to verbalize their complaints when a game fails to realize their expectations.

Plotholes or certain events feel incomplete.

The story feels rushed and a lot just happens without being given the importance it deserves. Character building when it comes to side characters is also kept to a bare minimum. There is only one part which I would call straight up unfinished though, and it isn't really directly related to the main story.

I'm not getting the fishing mechanics in this game so far. I'm doing the first fishing quest and have the correct lure for the fish but it seems to lose interest every time and I'm assuming it's the golden dot. The fish in question is the crag- something.

Is there something I'm missing or is it just kind of unpredictable?

Try the right side of the pond. Make sure you got the right bait/lure from Quay.

Theres a decent amount of side quests and loot. The end game is pretty good and the combat will keep you entertained.

Welp... Just finished Chapter 13 (took about 2 hours).

I... can't say that was the worst thing I have ever done in a video game, not by a long shot.

With that said, Chapter 13 is down there with The Fade from Dragon Age Origins in terms of shit I never want to do a second time in my life. It is such a drag that I am actually less inclined to replay through the game if I can't skip at least 80% of that Chapter outside of cutscenes and boss battles.
Haha, the Fade is my benchmark for tedious parts of otherwise enjoyable games! I'm not at chapter 13 yet (not even close), but reading about it I was thinking: if it's as bad as the Fade I can handle it. The various complaints here have lowered my expectations substantially too. I'll probably go through NG+ once the free improvements have been added to try and spot the difference.

It's a bit unpredictable but if it's catching the fish's interest and therefore the right lure, you'll want to vary your direction/R2 taps to make the lure more erratic and get the fish to commit.

I'm surprised they didn't cut it from the international release. The whole thing was cringe.

I didn't know what a shill it was until the end when you saw what Iggy made. Amused but also a bit disgusted at how blatant it was.

But hey, got 4K XP

Agreed.
I really loved that at least one of the party members dared to bitch slap Noctis back into reality. Yes, Noctis was suffering for the loss of his loved ones, but Gladio also lost his father and who knows how many family members, same as Ignis (Who also lost his vision completely). As the King, Noctis was supposed to be on top of things and trying to recover quickly and not to lose focus. Gladio was an ass, but he needed to be an ass.

It's funny, I really wasn't feeling much for Gladio up to that point, but then I had a renewed appreciation for him. As the "shield" of the Royal family, his duty was always to act strong and stoic, even in the darkest moments.

Qft.

I got the introduction to the cup noodle quest. Fucking amazing, that's what it is.

Got two questions:
  • Do Hunts count towards the sidequest-trophies?
  • I am at chapter 7 now. Just did the thing in
    the power plant.
When do I get new clothes? Kinda hoped it would be more frequent but so far it was nothing.

The definition of cringeworthy. It is so awful, they even talk like they are recording a commercial.

I thought it was likeable. At least it was unique compared to most sidequests. Instead of all the ball-numbing fetch quests, FFXV needed about 10 cup-noodle style sidequests that are all about adding flavor to the world & main characters, sort of like all the buddy quests in Dragon Age.

Seraphis Cain

bad gameplay lol
I think one of these days I'm going to see how long it takes to walk from Rock of Ravatogh to Crestholm Channels (so from one side of the map to the other). I'm curious as to how the time would compare to other open-world games. And it'd give me a good opportunity to really take in the sights. Say what you will about there not being a lot to do in it, I absolutely love the world S-E has crafted here.
