Hate that I had to work today. Was having a blast earlier. I'm 3.5 hours in and I haven't even reached the resort in chapter 1 yet. Just having fun exploring and doing sidequests. Only complaint is that the game is suuuuuper easy, and i'm already level 8 so I fear that i'm getting overleveled.

The power plant thing was the weirdest thing ever and I can't tell if the cup noodles thing is product placement or a joke
Both?

I just crossed 100 hrs. Working on post-game stuff. Super frustrated that the adamantoise fucking ran away and recharged it's hp

Combat in late game will be more difficult, and it seems to be typical of JRPGs to be really easy at the start (at least those I have played - Tales games and the few FFs I have played) and build the difficulty up towards the end. Still, I don't think it is ever very difficult, the game could have used a hard mode.

It's extremely easy to overlevel in this game, so it's a waste of time worrying about it. Just play however you enjoy.

This month's patch should also include a way to limit your level, so that could help.

I've already beat it, just wish I had known about the hunt before hand so I could have grabbed it. Don't feel like going through it again right now. I do need to finish the Dino quest there too, maybe I'll just do both real quick.

I know how you feel. My reaction was the same and I saved that hunt for last.

Did they give details on this month's update already?

So I'm in chapter 3 now, level 19.

Are the imperials supposed to spawn so many times? I've had like 2-3 air ships spawn almost one after the other.

Yeah, but that was before they talked about the story additions and chapter 13 balance, so I'm not sure if the Chapter 13 stuff is coming with this month's update, but NG+ and a way to control your level are coming this month, as well as a better framerate Pro mode (this could very well be delayed though) and a holiday themed free DLC pack (no idea about the content).

Yes, that is how they seem to be programmed. I find it kinda cool, makes battles more frantic, but I can understand people thinking it is a bit of a bother.

I agree with you, Luna is a very powerful figure and the explanation of her role in chapter
9
was really nice. Shame she has
limited screen time, because of this she does not really develop too much as an individual separate from her duty and destiny.

Yeah, i think the whole "Luna is a weak female that only panders to the hero's needs" is only half true, she's perceived that way because that's what was shown to us, but we know there was more that got cut
her abuse by Calligo's hands for example
, and it's easily perceivable that there was. I'm sure there were lots more moments where she actually gets to show her "strenght" that just got cut from the final game.

I bought this today and haven't even played it yet because I've just sat through kingsglaive and now watching this brotherhood thing...

Hahahahaha, it is weird, and a shame that some of it couldn't be part of the actual game, but it's very much worth watching, imo.

Especially when you get some Brotherhood references in the game, that would just seem like a regular conversations for people who didn't watch it, but will be more meaningful to you.

The power plant thing was the weirdest thing ever

I did that part last night. I was actually just reminiscing about how odd and dream-like the whole thing was.

1. Noctis and co. travel on an imperial airship crewed by the country that wants them dead, then disembark without incident (admittedly, this is the second time this has happened)
2. Noctis and Gladiolus meet-up, both masked. Both know who the other one is, but neither of them wants to let the other one know that they know who the other one is? So they never actually acknowledge each other's identity.
3. After I spent a significant amount of time driving Iris from Lestallum to Caem, Iris is suddenly BACK in Lestallum, to let me know that I should meet up with her back in Caem (but I already knew this; why did she drive across the continent twice instead of just sending me a text?).
4. Who the fuck is Dustin?
5. Gladiolus rejoins the party, but no one seems particularly surprised to see him (least of all Noctis, of course). He refuses to say anything about what he was up to.
6. Holly says that I don't have to pay her for treating the mythril. Um, sorry, but I just saved your town from being blown up by your demon-infested power plant. You're the one who should be paying me.

I've saved and reloaded before the sturdy helixhorn hunt 5 times now, broken 10 of the big guys horns with no drop. Starting to think that loot is decided when you take the hunt and reloading is futile.

Edit: read online that sword of the wise works well... Got it on the first try with that.

What's a good place to farm exp? I thought the Cadelebras hunt or whatever the piggynose things in Duscae with the coin stuff would be good place. Seems a tad faster than red giants.

It took me 2-3 hours to get that horn.

The cutscene on the boat to Altissa made me realize that everything in this plot is being treated like a MacGuffin.

The summons.
The ring.
The crystal.
The royal arms.
Heck, Luna might count.

Why are Noctis and co. chasing them? Well, why not? They all do good stuff, or something.

I've been wondering this as i'm playing, I know why he needs the royal arms that was explained well enough. The summons were a bit puzzling, we got a scene with
Gentiana
but the entire time I was wondering when Noctis realised Luna
was still alive
I don't remember them finding out, or finding out what she was doing. I'm a bit ??? about some of it.

Does Ignis only cook at camp sites? So far i've stayed at a 2 trailer homes, and a motel, and he hasn't cooked at either of them.

Yep, the fixed places you stay give you an EXP boost and cost money, camps don't give you any EXP boost, but are free and you can cook.

More importantly, you can hug your chocobos when camping.

I'm not there yet, so I can't give you a solid answer, but from what I've seen in the preview builds, didn't Titan show Noctis a vision of Luna talking to him? I assume that's when she woke him up, and where the Duscae tremors mentioned in the radio came from.

Edit: 12 now. This is starting to get stupid.

You just sentenced yourself to doing this 200 times in a row

FOR SCIENCE.

Did you camp and make the meal that increase the drop rate 50% before trying doing it?

Yes exactly! None of the plot makes any sense to me at all yet and the only reason I even understood why they were at a power plant was because of text on the load screen.

This is a mobile game. I don't mean it in a negative way but the structure is identical to tabata's crisis core. Lots of off screen action, "missions" that link together via text briefings, little weird plot oddities (gladio in suit is cissnei's real name).

It's a fun game just like crisis core but it feels so piecemeal. Imagine if the scene at the nibelheim reactor was told via load Screen.

Does this change?

Don't reload your save. You can repeat hunts, so park your car near the monsters and rest at the caravan next to the tipster. Once you clear the hunt, return to your last resting point, join the hunt again and then return to your car. Repeat until you get the horn. It took me a few tries as the drop rate is 25%.

I think your right, I remember that now. Titan did show a vision, you'd expect Noctis to be emotional about it, or have an opinion but he doesn't really react much to it, so I forgot the plot point.

Thanks for the tips guys. Ended up getting it after switching to the sword of the wise. Saw a post that mentioned it helps somehow and I got it first try with that weapon. Probably just a coincidence, but figured I'd mention it anyway.

Game really needs more clothing choices. Thermal suit was kinda fun but I wanted more. Went through game searching and hoping for a clothing shop to no avail. Hoping for some dlc ones because I'll buy them all. Classic FF job costumes for each of the four based on their imagined FF job would be great.

I guess we will get some as DLC, as part of a "booster pack". Also, (ending spoilers!)
after the time skip you get the most amazing costumes I have seen in a long time, especially Noctis' regal outfit.

I'm in Chapter 11. Mechanical/systems question here:

I suddenly can't get much magic from draw points. I was drawing like 50-60 ticks per draw point and now I get like 10...what gives?

It depends on the weapons you have equipped. You probably just changed the weapon that lets you take more magic.

I wonder if the season pass is worth it. I'm tempted to get it too bc I'll most likely buy the character dlc anyways. We just don't know the quality of the dlc or how long they will be. Do we even know a release schedule yet?

Not really, the was supposed to be a holiday pack (probably cosmetic), but that was announced before the delay. Who knows if it is still on track. It is still listed on the december 7th blog post as a holiday pack, so we'll hear more soon probably.

Well, I'm done.

The ending really suffered
Return of the King syndrome
, but I like it overall I guess.

It annoys me that
Ardyn's motives never really become clear.
Oh well.
