Chapter 13 and struggling against
Ravus
.

Any suggestions on how to beat him? I'm only level 37 so perhaps going back to the open world and leveling is wise..... Any places where I can farm quick exp or any particular quests I should pursue?

Thanks!

I was around that level too I think. Creating powerful spells, using warp-strikes to flee and attack, having a good amount of items, wearing good equipment, using your party's tactics, just strong fundamentals I guess. If you want to get quick exp, I got some at the
Imperial base north of Hammerhead, it's called Formouth Garrison. I just walked in there going all out on offense and after clearing the place I got up about 3 levels I think

How do you fast travel? I'm early, only chapter 2, but I swear I saw the option once to get in my car and basically warp me to a location. I don't mind driving once, but man, even having to wait 2 minutes to get somewhere is kind of crappy.

If the place you want to go has a >> icon next to it, it'll ask you. That said, if you pick up the perk that gives ap for driving, it's worth it to just let it ride.

So.... uhhh.... about the factory in Lestallum that only has female workers...... Iris mentioned it and a choice popped up. I decided to encourage her instead of do the express concern option because I don't know if Noctis would've sounded condescending or something.

But right now... the factory is blocked and I REALLY wanna explore it....

I have Noctis in the Regis outfit and he looks great in it. But... his posing animation looks weird in the suit. He should just be folding his arms or have his hands in his pockets. Instead... he does this awkward hand on his hip thing that makes him look so goofy in his suit.

Do those choices make a difference in the story? There no special bonding points are anything is there?

All in all chapter 13 took me about 4 hours to complete. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I can think of a few areas in previous FF games (well, in 13 at least) that dragged on longer and were more boring to play through.

Story spoilers:
What's the deal with FF characters voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura getting completely shafted by the story they're in? :p First Cid Raines, now Ravus.

Okay now ch 13 is terrible. Can't fucking do anything.
can't kill the monster chasing me; it just heals. Can't pick anything up. Can't use the save room.

Halfway thru the adamantoise hunt. I warp strike and it warps me half way to one of the nearest camp sites, cancelling the battle. Now I gotta start this crappy fight all over again.

It's either a bug or you're doing something wrong. Need more info.

I'm at the part that starts with the power off. I managed to get the monster down to half health, but it just respawned with full health. Got it to disappear again and it immediately came back so I couldn't use the save room.

Oh, if it's Foras you're talking about, he's just an annoyance for a bit. You aren't supposed to fight him.

Good question..... but I do know you earn stuff if you say the right stuff during these dialogue choices. Like you earn that pop-up filter thing if you're nice to Prompto when he's expressing how he truly feels way back in the motel scene. I was earning AP and EXP when I was saying nice stuff to Iris. It ended with her sounded like she really likes Noctis but... just like with Cidney.... she won't do anything because of Luna.

It would be awesome if Tabata actually had choices affect the ACTUAL story but I doubt it. Its a good way for you to have your own personal Noctis experience.

Get ready to
press all the BUTTONS and opening all the DOORS. Also, security clearance going up to 9999
OMG, this is just dumb. (spoilering just in case)
I mean, it's palatable due to your power (and I'm probably OP at Lv. 53), but the actual process you have to go through is some B-team PS2-era shit. Game's story has had excellent momentum up until now. The tone, pacing, etc. all feel off. :( This is kinda how the Platinum Demo made me feel, as if I'm not even playing the same game anymore.

Got pretty far I give up I don't get it(costlemark

Are you stuck in
the really large room with the teleporter which takes you back to the start?

If so,
you'll find one of the different looking squares on the ground is usable. Once completing that path and going back into that room, another one will unlock. Someone was saying it was randomised, but for me the first one which was activated was one with 4 stones next to it. second one which activated had three stones, third had two, and the last one had the one stone. On the last lift, after a while on the path you'll have a choice of which ones to press, make sure you press the East one and not the South one, other wise you'll have to fight the Naga, 3x Red Giants and Flan Horde again(I made that mistake, and boy was I sad).

You really gotta use your map to figure out the right path for the block puzzles. I had to go through 5 sets of the failure room before I realized that.
You're actually forced to do at least 3 'failure rooms', though.

Fuck the
Naga, 3x Red Giant spawn
tho. :/

I'm really confused here on the CH10
Marlboro fight. I just 'fought' him like 3 times. He's pretty easy but each time my party gets walloped and they tell me to regroup, so I do that and nothing happens...
Look around, there are bright red arrows you need to run to.

Any word of a patch to address the frame pacing issues on the high visual options on a 4K screen? I'm holding off on playing until then as I have a few other games to jump into.

It is the worst piece of game design of 2016 easily. Whoever/whatever subteam developed chapter 13 deserves to be named and fired. It's a disgrace to the game.

^ Yeah, it just feels so out of place. The last few chapters zoomed by too, probably because I never used
Umbra
to go back.

Just beat the game. This is actually the first Final Fantasy where I don't remember any songs from the game...
Not even
Stand By Me
? LOL

I've heard from at least a few people that it's completely random and you can potentially go through on the first block. I had to go through like 5 times, but like I said above, I didn't realize there were different paths on 2 of the blocks.

I need more content. Still not happy after playing for 90 hours and 100% everything. The game didn't hit the right spot like the previous FF games.

Lucky people. :/

I didn't have a choice, As I mentioned before, the lifts activated one by one, and the right one was the last one which unlocked. >.>

I was checking every wall as I went through paths and only the last one seemed to have a choice in which path you can go.

Haha that happened to me once, I was so fucking pissed. Sadly it had only 20% health left so it felt really bad.

It's completely out of place, then there's a ridiculous difficulty spike if you are mainlining the story.

It's the only reason I ever talked to them was because I had to grind to pass that part.

One has a trolly path to the center block. You avoid the failure room, but you still start over. The other obviously has the correct path. I think mine was the second one or third one, but I assumed it was wrong because I picked the wrong path inside of it.

Can confirm you are not. I didn't even know about the encounter you just mentioned. I fought a Giant and some Flan twice, and that's it.

Both my second and third "paths" split in the middle for me. I assumed I messed up on the 2nd as it sent me to the same room. On 3rd I hit Yahtzee.
