Chapter 13 and struggling against
Ravus
.

Any suggestions on how to beat him? I'm only level 37 so perhaps going back to the open world and leveling is wise..... Any places where I can farm quick exp or any particular quests I should pursue?

Thanks!

That was the one fight in the game I probably had the most trouble with, I ended up just warp striking and warping back away immediately to chip away. I eventually gave up on keeping my party alive because the fight took so long and it was getting tedious. Certainly not the best way to do it but it seems like a pretty tough fight no matter what. I find that having a lot of elixirs is pretty helpful for most tough fights to combat the health damage.

Is there any reason why after several days and completing a quest cid still won't give me my weapon? You know what, fuck it. I am so done with this game.

That this was the last straw for you for the game is cracking me the fuck up lol

Wow this
secret dungeon
pretty damn awesome. There are actual treasure chests here haha.

Shame we didn't get a dungeon like this in the main story.

If so,
you'll find one of the different looking squares on the ground is usable. Once completing that path and going back into that room, another one will unlock. Someone was saying it was randomised, but for me the first one which was activated was one with 4 stones next to it. second one which activated had three stones, third had two, and the last one had the one stone. On the last lift, after a while on the path you'll have a choice of which ones to press, make sure you press the East one and not the South one, other wise you'll have to fight the Naga, 3x Red Giants and Flan Horde again(I made that mistake, and boy was I sad).

Fk this dungeon design, who thought it's a good idea to throw all those mobs in a tiny room? I used almost all my elixir and phoenix down stack until I figured out that I could just 2 shot these fkers with quadcast thundara. I still gave up because I couldn't figure out to go forward even though I cleared out all 4 rooms.

Most or all the optional dungeons are pretty good. Not sure why they took them off the main story. Great content that is easily missed unless you're hunting them down. Could've made the main campaign better overall.

So, which is better, do all of the sidequests before
chapter 9
or after I finish the main quests?

If you're interested in the story, go ahead and go for it. You're still able to do side-quests up until the very last fight if you want.
Chapter 9
really isn't a point of no-return, it just seems like it.
A mechanic is introduced to you in Chapter 9 when you go to the hotel that'll explain it.

The sewers. Man fuuuuuuucccckkk that thing. Cool to see
Yojimbo
but he was a bitch. Instakills all day. And then the two bosses. Fighting
Naga
in a small room while you can be done stoned or made into a toad, i was on the ropes but then luckily i could summon and Ramuh killed the boss instantly lol. But then
Jorgunand
, holy crap. Raining hot magma is no joke. Can't even dodge it with square. No summon help this time but luckily i had mega Phoenix to save my ass. Surprised there was no treasure after beating it though

Safety belt helps against insta kills.

I've saved and reloaded before the sturdy helixhorn hunt 5 times now, broken 10 of the big guys horns with no drop. Starting to think that loot is decided when you take the hunt and reloading is futile.

Edit: read online that sword of the wise works well... Got it on the first try with that.

This annoyed the hell out of me as well. Here is the solution:

1) You should already have it, but if not get the AP option that makes appendages break with a warp strike.
2) Take the quest and camp nearest to the quest area and use the chicken an egg rice meal to get the 50% drop rate boost (if you don't have this, I think one of the vendors I. lestallum cooks it anyways)
3) Go to quest area and save a new slot just outside of the yellow zone (for replays)
4) Fight the enemies - you can either clear out the spiracorns and save the dualcorns or focus on the dualcorns as they are they important ones for getting Sturdy Helixhorn.
5) Hold the targeting button and use the right stick to make sure you are targeting a dualcorn's horn for your attacks.
6) Warp strike the horns religiously. Don't bother with other attacks - use the warp points liberally to restore MP.
7) Reload save until you get it - but points 5+6 are the key. Feel no guilt in this method because fuck that drop rate man...

People in general would go absolutely insane if the secret dungeon was a part of the main story.

Where can you get them? I'm only on chapter 5 and I havent seen a store sell them.

And would they work on Coeurls? Because fuck them right off. Top 3 most annoying enemies - Coeurls, Solider Bees/Wasp things, High level soldiers with guns

Is there anyways to get Ignis to reliably use Libra? I just fought a Red Giant and literally waited 5 minutes and he didn't use it.

Sorry it's safety bit not belt

Yeah I'm sure it works against coeurls

Also there is a restaurant that has food that prevents death in Atlissia.

I don't think this is that type of game.

maybe in the DLC episode tho

My typos are getting worse and worse -__-

Still reckon S-E need to patch checkpoints in the
Blank Hood
dungeon. The only way I got through that shit was to follow a video guide step by step. The only section of the game I used YouTube and a guide to help me.

Also one of the reasons some of these enemies are kicking my ass. Facing them for the first time and while I'm figuring out the best way to kill them they're kicking my ass.

Just got to level 99 very easily. Eat a meal in Altissia that gives you 100% extra EXP, go to a spot that has a specific hunt with Wyverns and farm the hunt over and over using the (weapon spoiler)
Ring of Lucii
. You complete the hunt in minutes.

After 2 hours I went from 75 to 99, so not that much time at all really. Stay at the 3x hotel of course. To get a lot of money, sell the Wyvern item you get after killing them. You do the hunt a lot and there are 7 each time so when you get 99 of them, you can sell them all for a little over 160k.

Time to take on the deep dungeons and finish off the game.

A bit into Chapter 13 and I don't mind the Chapter so far, but I got to say the second half of this game is so freaking half baked. It's clear to me that they didn't put in everything they wanted to put in and what they should have put in. Some shit is laughable that we aren't even allowed to see or do. Stuff they showed off in trailers that are never gonna appear, and moments that seemed epic fall flat. Oh what this game could have been.

This game is great overall, but certainly has some elements that are bad. However, I'm getting a 'so bad, it's good' vibe from it believe it or not.

The bad parts actually entertains me more than displeases me. The haphazard story telling, the cup noodle quest, the voice acting, etc.

I mean some parts I've gone through are so bad, but I have a hard time getting mad at it, I just laugh.

I'm just about to start Chapter 13 and I'm putting on my gaming seatbelt, gaming helmet, and made sure my gaming insurance is order. I think this is going to fun...

At what point does Gil become abundant? I'm on chapter 3, put in 16 hours so far and only have 24k.

Depends on how much you been spending time doing hunts. I got to rank 3 in chapter 3 and they give out like 6k per hunt. And some of them can be repeated for like 900, in case you just need some quick change for hotel and chocobo renting
