in like 55 hours of playtime.
 
Fucking hell.....8 hours to get to chapter 2. I'm definitely over leveled for main quest stuff lol. I was one shotting magi armor. But I don't care, game is so much fun!!!

I just got off with Amazon support and was told a new delivery date of 12/1 :/. I did get a free month extension to my prime membership, but I will be picking this up at Best Buy tomorrow and returning my amazon order whenever the hell it arrives.

honestly I've felt like this since the first 2 chapters. rushed, disjointed, poorly told, feeling as if some cutscenes are literally missing etc.
it's annoying but I'm still enjoying the game quite a bit.

what irked me the most though so far was the ending of chapter 2,
"hi i'm Loqi and i pilot this giant mech"
"oh k - wait what/who"
*boss battle starts*
*boss battle ends and Loqi is dead*
and I'm honestly just wondering if I'm missing something here or if they just let monkeys handle the script for that chapter/character.
 
Welp I'm at the 10 hour mark and I can't go any further. I want to play this game, I want to see what happens in the story but the combat absolutely breaks my heart. I hate it, truly hate it. For about 2 hours after going into wait mode I felt like things were better, but I just fought a boss and no matter what I did I couldn't block or phase attacks. I'm not a religious person but I'm paying to God that the remake doesn't have this kind of combat.
 
Finally got to play it tonight, still on Chapter 1. This game is fun. I'm afraid to miss any of the sidequests and hunts so I'm taking my sweet time just exploring and fighting bad guys.

Almost ran into an Iron Giant, I almost shat my pants when it came out of the ground.

And people really weren't kidding about this game being light on story. For a Final Fantasy game, I'm genuinely surprised by how little story there is so far...
 
Is there anyway to rename Carbuncle from the demo? I didn't realize it would unlock him in the final game...I named him Aeris and it transferred to FFXV and I'm not pleased.
 
Just finished Chapter 7 and the information about what's going on in Niflheim is so interesting I really wish they would have done a cutscene to show what they were talking about. It reminded me of what was happening in FF VI. I also really enjoy the Niflheim bases.
 
Just played for 5 hours straight, liking it a lot. The combat is a ton of fun, a lot moreso than I was expecting. It gets a bit chaotic but I feel like it is starting to click and it really opens up. I don't really mind the lack of a story very much right now, it feels very leisurely which may not be final fantasy-esque but its fine with me considering I haven't bought an entry in the series since 12.

. That full sequence of kinetic blocks at the end is reset if you leave the dungeon, and it took me like 90 minutes.

Good luck, that part was a pain. For what it's worth, I found the boss easier to deal with than some of the later combinations of regular enemies.
 
I played for a few hours before work tonight and I'm so happy with the game so far. It's killing me not to play more, but luckily I have a few days off coming up to really dive into the game properly.

The combat is a ton of fun and I can only see it getting better as I play more and get the hang of all the systems better. The world and exploration seems good from what I have seen so far as well. Dialog, voice acting, and writing has been pretty hit or miss though. Everything is a bit too over the top so far, especially Cindy and Prompto. The other guys are alright, but I'm definitely considering switching to the Japanese audio, and this is coming from a guy who prefers dubs over subs usually.
 
Hello guys, I was wondering if this game would be right for me- never played a FF game, nor have I played many JRPGs in general except Souls in which I have probably invested 500 hours in across all 5 titles. I am a big fan of open world RPGs, but mainly the western ones like The Witcher, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age, Fallout etc. On one hand I don't care for anime (something this game takes inspiration from visually) but if its a fun game with a decent story, I'm down.

EDIT: Also, how long is the game for someone like me who likes to finish most side quests? I hate open world bloat but I have a compulsive OCD that makes me check every nook and crany. As of late though, like in Dragon Age Inquistion I avoid all the fetch quests that I know will be wastes of time and try ti complete the ones that are meaningful/interesting.

I'm about 15 hours in, and from what I've seen so far, very little anime influence. This one is right up your alley man.
 
Am I the only one not digging the battle system? The camera loves to hang out behind trees, rocks, etc. And I feel like bad guys swarm the shit out of me if I'm not mashing dodge all the battle. Think I am going to swtich to easy so I don't get pissed and start hating this game.
 
So everytime you go into a camp etc you get some weird "days count" what does it do? does it affect something? or just the time you spent in that particular area?
 
Is there a way to switch circle and cross? I just finished chapter 1. The Kingsglaive clips were a little tacky but overall Tabata seems to have delivered.
 
Sorry if this has been asked a million times over, I've stayed away from mostly everything FFXV related on forums, but how does the size of the world compare to say Xenoblade Chronicles X, Dragon Age Inquisition or The Witcher 3?

Also, how big are the towns?

I'm not planning to play this until early 2017.
 
Actually enjoyed Kingsglaive quite a bit. I'll need a rewatch as some details kinda flew over my head but otherwise really liked it. Hope to find some time with the game tomorrow.
 
Well I spent almost exactly 4 hours playing this tonight and all I did was finish Chapter 1...... and the handful of sidequests that popped up ... and uh maybe I also did every hunt that was level 8 or lower and ranked up to a LEVEL 2 HUNTER. ...

I uh... I'm at Level 10 with all 4 chocobros now all rocking some upgraded equipment of some kind and I gotta say guys - I'm loving this as much as I thought I would based on the demo. I can only hope that December Patch cleans up the frame pacing in HIGH detail/resolution mode because I find it looks substantially better. Having my TV left in game mode keeps it looking playable but it's still obviously choppy. That ... and the camera are my only 2 complaints.

For all the complaints about the story though, I'm already more invested in this one than I got in FF XIII and that was something I spent closer to 20 hours with (finished 8 chapters). Every character in that game was awful.

The game has a lot of DAI vibe for the open world part IMO.
 
Played for about 5 hours today and just got to the area where you can fish, haha. I'm taking my time with this, and I'm having a blast. Damn this game is fun; I love the combat system, and I find myself just running around trying to find things to kill so I can practice and get better with it. I also love viewing Prompto's photos at the campsite, and I've enjoyed everyone's banter so far. I didn't want to put it down, but I need sleep, haha.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me where you get the portable music player and if there's Final Fantasy X music for the car; I'll be so happy if they put it in.
 
They cannot be serious about that reporter's voice lmao 😂😂 I know I recognize it from other stuff but I can't place him, anyone know?

Fishing is annoying.
