Wait, how do you put Galeforce on a female morgan from Avatar x Tiki?

Anyways, finished the game last night. Making Avatar x Lucina made some events, in particular a certain meeting between her, Avatar, and Chrom, stood out a LOT more. I love it.

Bonus (happened last night and made me smile):

Morgan inherits all class types that Avatar has except gender specific classes (Barbarian / Berserker). Since she's female she has access to Pegasus Knight / Dark Flier.

Oh yeah right *smacks head*

Anyways...

Damn, Lucina x Avatar really made that certain scene stood out lots (I am sure you folks who have finished the game know what scene I am talking about.) Her fierce determination at the beginning and her subsequent collapse do to her unable completing what she set out for was just... touching.

It's gonna be hard not picking her up again on the next playthrough even if it's just because that one scene only ;____;

Chrom x Female Avatar also works well for that scene. ;___;

So I just fucked up Paralogue 10 by killing the boss instead of escorting Severa to her friend. I thought I won so I saved it and now it looks like I can't recruit her.

Fuck!

Male Avatar x Lucina worked so well in that scene, in fact, that insofar as "cannon" pairings considered I think this might be the one for Male Avatar. None other pairings for him are getting acknowledged so beautifully like this for the game, as far as I know (unless I am mistaken?), so yeah.

Gonna replay as Female Avatar... My primary motivation for playing this game right now is just to collect supports.

You should have known something is off when the game doesn't play ChildxParent conversation after a child-recruiting map. This is how I figured I didn't get Laurent too at my first attempt of his map.

Yeah I realized something was off like the second after I hit save.

I'm pretty sure this is enough to get me to put this down. I've gone to painstaking lengths to get everyone and keep them alive and I'm not sure I want to continue anymore

Nah man, just continue on.

Just think of it as added motivation for you to play another walkthrough.

If you lose someone like, say, Lucina, then saved over it, then yeah, it sucked real bad, but on the grand scheme of things Severa ain't too important (raises anti-Kincaido shield)

Wow, I didn't realize that was necessary at all myself. I just decided to wait for her to get to her friend before I took out the boss on a whim because I figured I'd get some kind of item or something as a bonus, as per usual when you help out villagers (well, that and I was taking Anna around to get the Chests anyway and since I hadn't gotten both of them yet, I figured why not). Had I not done that, I probably would have saved right after the battle, just like you. That.. really sucks that it's that easy to mess up getting her.

Also...
Not purchasable. Only 2 boots per save file. The one from the campaign and the one from renown.
Yeah, it does kind of suck. :( I personally wasted my first pair of boots on Owain (and not a particularly great one since I wasn't too concerned with passing down skills or anything at the time), because I didn't realize they were that limited when I got them. And the second pair, I'll probably never get at all (currently at like 1000 renown), so yeah... :(

Oh well. At least there's always Anna, I guess, who can work as a makeshift "Shoe" if need be (when Anna supports a unit, she gives them +1 Movement, even if they're a Dark Flier or a Wyvern Lord or something with 8 Movement).

It's not just Anna that gives movement boost but it depends on what class the pair up partner is.

Great Knights, Bow Knights, Thieves, Tricksters, Griffon Riders, Dark Knights and
Conqueror
all give +1 Movement when paired up with someone along with other additional stat bonuses.

And you can boost that even more with the Griffon Rider's skill, Deliverer which gives +2 Movement when paired up. I believe the highest movement you can get without using boots is 14 Movement with a class with 8 Movement, the pair up bonuses, Deliverer, the Movement +1 skill and the movement rally boosts from Rally Movement and Rally Heart.

Severa rocks. You might as well throw your 3DS in the trash.

Seriously, though. Don't feel too down about that. Just finish the playthrough and start a new one as soon as you're done. Beating the game once is not the end of a Fire Emblem game.

I'm really torn. I doubt I would replay this just for 1 character but the completionist in me won't be able to keep going knowing I missed a character.

I'm thinking I might put it down for a few weeks for Luigis Mansion and restart it then

I don't know the term to describe Henry though...some bloodthirsty-happy self-inflicting harm kind of guy? I totally forgot the term.

If I ever find myself suddenly become a bad guy in a Fire Emblem universe, I would totally do the Henry stuff. Make an entrance, make up some puns, and then some random stories about "how I want to defect." Then at midnight I can kill the leader of the good-guy army and went on my merry way (but all of that NOT before I find a fair lady to make a child with)

Hell, why not? The heroes are all so very gullible and accepting even with a guy who they haven't even seen before or have any reason to trust. "Sure, we'll let you join our army." :p

So I didn't know the intricacies of FE and that you get the most skills by upgrading characters at level 15. Because of this, I upgraded my protagonist to a Grandmaster at level 10. Is it THAT big of a deal? I'm probably 10 hours in...

Never use your boots on anyone and save. Using the Avatar Logbook trick, you can give boots bonuses to ALL your spotpass/dlc/streetpass characters.

So I'm not missing any major skills or anything with my Grandmaster? I don't plan on being too hardcore. I really just want to finish the game.
Nope, you got all the skills for a base tactician. You'll get two more skills, Ignis and Rally Spectrum at level 5 and level 15.

Noticed something weird about hit rates.

I have Cordelia and Lon'qu paired, and there's an enemy knight at a corner with a mountain on two sides and a plain on two sides.

If Cordelia attacks, the enemy has a higher hit rate when she's on the mountain than the plain (54 vs 44), it actually seems to reduce my avoid rate. If I switch to Lon'qu, being on the mountain improves my avoid (29 vs 39).

Is this normal? Because it doesn't make much sense to me.

Endgame DLC spoilers:
Walhart just joined my army, and made me realize he could have married my MC. I would have loved to make that happen to see how Morgan would turn out.

I don't think flying units get defensive bonuses from terrain.

Do you have any skills that could be affecting your avoid? Like Chrom's Charm?

that feel when you get a perfect level-up and then that unit dies in the next turn :(

and when you restart the same level-up increases 2 stats

Can you explain how this trick works?

I assume you give some spotpass/DLC character the boots, make sure it saves to the logbook, let him/her die after using the boots, then re-hire him. If items, including boots, get transferred over, you can take those off of him, re-hire, rinse, and repeat.

Though I thought logbook characters come in with no items, so I'm not quite sure if that works.

Unless instead you have the spotpass character use the boots, let that get saved to the logbook, then soft=reset? Not quite sure how/when the logbook makes saves.

fake edit: ah, it's the 2nd way. taken from Serenes.

Infinite stat ups for legacy characters/guest Avatars

Through clever usage of the "Avatar Logbook", it's possible to effortlessly and endlessly raise the stats of legacy characters (recruited from SpotPass or DLC) or guest Avatars (recruited from StreetPass).

You'll need at least two game files for this, which I'll arbitrarily refer to as file A and file B.

1. Load file A--this should be a file with numerous stat-boosters (e.g. Energy Drop) and plenty of gold.
2. Feed your character of choice stat-boosters until they're all depleted (or you're happy).
3. Update the character in the Avatar Logbook and save your progress to file B.
4. Load file A and recruit the newly-updated character from the Avatar Logbook (requires gold).
5. Go to step 1 and repeat the process until necessary.

So load file A, use item boosts, save to slot B, go back to A, re-hire legacy character. Would definitely need Golden Gaffe for that, though.

I almost always have a mounted rider or flying class in each pair, just so I can move around the map like a total boss with anybody. The only one in which I didn't really have a pair so far was Donnel/Nowi, so I gave them to Nowi. Makes her pretty close to a mounted class.

My Panne is getting screwed again!

3 lvl ups between Ch9/10 on my Lunatic run and all I've gotten is a mixtue of HP and freaking luck :(

Its like the game is honestly telling me to stop using her.

Tsunderes are horrible people.

At least you can laugh yanderes, but they're terrible too.

Nonsense.

Yandere is the best dere.

Ok, I think I got all the walkthrough specific supports (parent-child, siblings, Morgan not being someone's sibling) and now I'm out of things to do in this playthrough.

I also want to wait til the last Paralogue characters get released before trying to get all the supports but man, that is pretty overwhelming when you think about it.

If FE14 isn't a sequel to Awakening, or a completely different universe, I want to see a game about the backstory of the 12 undead heroes when they were still alive. Or at the very least someone should make an FE7 hack about the 12 undead heroes. They seem pretty cool.
