Is she really that good? I haven't used her since the tutorial. I guess I could level her up in tandem with Olivia to make use of the 1.5 exp event.

Yeah she has the best stats in blue after Nowi. Buffs atk and defense and debuffs atk of enemies on 2 spaces. She is as poweful as any gacha natural 5. Really good.

I was shocked myself, but it's a combination of having stats in the right places and utility that can be used consistently. The fact that she is strong against the most common color you'll see in arena doesn't hurt either.

When you break the unit down, it's hard to imagine her ranking much lower.

Whelp my adult Tiki appears to be + atk and - speed, she's already a slow unit but there's no point in upgrading her to 4 and 5 stars with that nature. Hopefully I pull a better one eventually, I must add more dragons to my team.

You don't need all five star units. You don't even need one really if you're not doing advanced. Just see if you have ways of dealing with popular characters.

The matchmaking is trying to set you up against teams that have total ratings (sum of all stats) comparable to yours. My understanding is that intermediate is aiming to match you against equal rating teams, while beginner and advanced are aiming for a little lower or higher, respectively. Having 5* units is not generally going to make things easier because they just have higher stats and will see you put up against stronger teams, although you will get more points for each win (because the scoring is based on total stats). You'll have the easiest wins by having characters that are strong relative to their stats (archers, mages, cavalry, Brave weapon users) with good team synergy.

I have been rolling with young tiki, takumi, Camilla and Olivia and just play smart depending on the enemy team and have only lost in advanced arena like probably three or four times and get like 5 or 6 defense wins. Yea could really use a good blue unit instead of Camilla because I have to hold her back more often than not especially with a lot of teams having takumi themselves and the times I have lost is mostly due to robin

Love seeing hector in the enemy team though lol because young tiki absolutely destroys him and I have been running into him a lot of matches for the past three days

Well, since there's nothing to do and quite frankly I don't know if I'm even gonna stick with the game, used my 87 orbs, hoping to pull a banner unit.

Didn't pull a single 5*.

I think the universe is telling me something.

My team is Lucina 5*, Lissa 4*, Nowi 5* and Cecilia 4*. It should be a good team I would think, but somehow matches are a struggle against opponents of the same level, and I take counter-typing into account.

Yeahhh. I've got 20 orbs, but I don't really see the point. Plus, it takes forever to level characters, and if there's a level disparity, it's a nightmare. You pretty much have to stick to units that are basically the same level, or else they can't kill enemies or they don't earn XP from kills at all.

Julia maxed, if anybody was curious about her stats.

With that Atk and Res she's virtually unbeatable 1-on-1 with a mage but can't even look at basically anybody else.
Not sure if I can fit her in. Her special ups her Atk by 50% though which seems to 1HKO anybody which may bail me out of some scrapes...

I got another 4* Effie, yay!

But she's attack up,defense down...

So I have two 4* Effies.

One with Defense Up, Attack Down.

Another with Attack Up, Defense Down.

I need a 5* version of one of them because of needing a higher team rating average for arena.

I don't know which is best to choose for arena.

One would have 36 defense to take more hits while the other will have 30.

Whereas one will have 58 attack when in combat while the other would have 52, this is not taking into account death blow.

The max amount of damage I can expect from them without buffs is, for attack up against red weapons: 64*1.18=75.52 damage (rounded up to 76 damage). While attack down is 58*1.18=68.44 (Rounded down to 68.44) against red weapons.

The above is with using death blow against red weapons. It's not even applying +4 atk buffs. Oh my, it could go as high as 80 damage.

The idea of Effie doing one hit kills is very appealing. I'm just concerned about her defense since her mobility is low.

Whales?

I mean, by not wasting a lot of stamina, nearly every F2P should have a full party of level 40s, lunatic mostly cleared if not completely cleared, events all done, and a stockpile of unlock badges.

They gave away so many stam refreshers in the beginning which was a mistake.

There are def things in this launch that seem ill conceived (the training tower stam reduction and skills costs should of never made it live in that state).

it's not just whale, i ran out of stuff to do, just leveling up my 4*s now. all my 5*s are 40s.

the good thing is i still have a lot of dueling crests. which i'll use to finish the lunatic quests.

I think its both tbh. This is really slow, but still launch period, other games have much more content to go through thats grindable.

It's not just the banner, it's the events and filler stuff. A banner can come out every two weeks, it's fine. But there needs to be either an event tied to that banner that is more than just three maps or even a single map.

For example, with this banner. Say that with this banner comes five maps with more than just a throwaway story. It has an actually somewhat interesting, self-contained story. It can be repeatable and drop special badges that you turn in either for exclusive characters, exclusive skills, or (if this game had it) exclusive weapons. The hardest map drops the most, the easiest the least. Say it's a two week event, it takes 200 stamina to grind out all the rewards if you're strong enough to take on the final map, 250 if you're strong enough to grind the second hardest map, etc.

That's something to do, and something to help customize your characters. The meta is constantly being shaken up and is more complex and interesting than 'this new character is OP, get him/her'.

It's not just the two weeks. It's the two weeks + all the other issues.

Heroes is just designed with limited replayability. The ramp is really short to max out characters on a basic level, and the + system after they hit cap is reliant on merging same type rolls. Really easy for players to run out of stuff to do, and the systems are not set up to introduce new stuff to players regularly. Huge mistake to not have a randomized map system. Huge mistake to have locked character skills, so the progression process feels slow and predictable. Arena should be interesting but instead it's a mess that values stat totals over anything else. The events themselves do not really provide much to do either when they're specific scenarios with restricted rewards. They're set up to be inclusive too...so nothing that pushes a level 40 party yet. There's nothing to really grind out in this game long term, and you can honestly hit points where you get pretty much nothing for playing the game. Should not be happening this early into the game's life. You hit a point where your stamina cannot earn you more rolls, you just have to wait for new events. Really bad idea.

The easy stopgap would be to add feathers to training tower rewards. Badges are dumb.

I had 50 stamina earlier and instead of doing anything real with it I took my modern Arena team to Lunatic 9-5 and 9-2 just to see how it would stack up.

I haven't had this experience at all. I've leveled 7 characters to 40. The first few were just part of my standard team, but Catria, Anna, and Hawkeye were late additions, and it didn't take long to get them there. I did Hawkeye today and yesterday using maybe 4 or 5 stamina bars total? And he's kind of a shit hero. I got 5* Anna to 40 in I'm pretty sure just one day; it helps that she's got better stats.

Leveling even a 2* to 15 or so is trivial. You hit the experience cap fighting same-level things, so it's only like 20 kills to get there. After this, 4*s and 5*s are going to be competitive against clerics and things they have color advantage over even when underleveled, and they'll get substantial experience for killing something 3+ levels above them. So you take them in with an escort that covers their weakness, a healer, and probably a dancer, and you get them 2 or 3 of the 4 or 5 kills on maps that are 3-5 levels above them. They stay pretty safe, especially because the AI will tend to go for your healer even if it could kill the thing you're training. Up to level 37ish I'm only needing at most 4 kills to level up. After that I hunt for favorable colors on the top floor.

I wouldn't spend on this banner unless you are a fan of those games.

I wouldnt spend on the next datamine banner either.

I just hope the choose your hero banner is worth it.

Yes, in retrospect I think the way to go was to spend every available orb on only red stones on Legendary Heroes.

I really like that this game, while definitely being about the gacha, also seems to find a balance between that and just building up the units you already have.

For instance, I've been working with my Virion since the beginning. Loved him in Awakening, and I love him here. And now that he's 4 star, he's really starting to feel like a beast and I'm getting attached to him in the same way I did in Awakening. When he hits his Astra skill, I just wanna cheer for my dawg.

That was a very important part of the FE games that I was worried that they would lose here because of the gacha, but it doesn't seem like they have. It was smart of them to allow any character to be promoted to 5* to allow for that growth instead of how some of these games do to where lower star characters are just inherently worse and have stronger limits.

It really feels like Fire Emblem. They did a great job with this game.

But yeah, I've only did one big summon, and I love my team.

5*Azura
4*Eliwood
4*Barst
4*Virion

Have 78 orbs and don't feel the need to summon. Probably gonna wait until Chrom is a featured character or something. Like that dude.

ofc and Olivia can take green units, Olivia being weak in combat is that urban legend that will never go.

But that doesnt mean you will see Olivias charging into battle unless is completely safe. You will do better singing for a heavy hitter most of the time that taking it by yourself.
Olivia's stats: 36 HP, 43 ATK, 33 SPD, 27 DEF, 26 RES
vs.
Azura's stats: 36 HP, 43 ATK, 36 SPD, 21 DEF, 28 RES
As far as I can tell by this, Azura's main advantage is being Blue so that she can combat red units and is a bit faster. Otherwise, Olivia's actually bulkier.

If a user has a brave weapon they do so on attack. If a unit can't counter if they opposing unit has plus five speed or more as well.

I'm assuming they're not 5* since you are not taking them to max level?

Just take them to level 20. Go to the unlock potential and it will show their level 1 stats at next rarity up even if you don't have enough feathers.

They are five stars, but they're not my main team ones.

I have four female Corrins parked at four stars at level twenty waiting for the feather deluge.
