That's the long term plan. Plugins are just the first step.Brettison said:They need to go all the way with it though, and just sandbox EVERYTHING. Instead they just seem to be sandboxing big time plugins. Sandboxing the whole deal would be much better for security purposes.

No clue, but here's more preview examples including the Twitter, CNN and IMDB.The_Inquisitor said:This would make me return to firefox. That is really nice. Do websites need to add a container file allowing firefox to do this or will Mozilla pre-program this behavior for various sites?
I'm thinking for example GAF having a tab-down for gaming, off-topic, and community.
Ah, good to know. I think I started with Beta 3, so that was pretty cool to see, yes.sn1pes said:RC1 -> RC2 was 2 bug fixes
RC2 -> Final was no changes, I believe
I've been using the betas since one of the first ones, and it was very interesting to watch FF4 evolve. I'm definitely happy with the final product.

If you haven't figured this out yet it's because you have to visit those sites at least once for them to download their favicon. Then they'll all load as you visit each one.Rei_Toei said:Sorry if it's been asked before, but is there any way to remove the images in the bookmark bar? Half of the bookmarks I use a lot are not visible anymore because it's now showing the logos of the websites.
The firefox button? Get a theme to make it use aero transparency or you can just uncheck it and use the legacy menu system.Plywood said:I'm not impressed with FF4.
I think it's really that button that is annoying the ever living shit out of me.
I have the button transparent, wish the default was completely transparent and I was just hoping they would've made the Firefox Icon the button instead. I was also hoping they would've went with a more minimalist style. :/MrBig said:The firefox button? I agree, just looks like a soft childrens toy in the corner of my browser. But it serves its function and I have made it look better. And Function >>> Form, so I guess it does the trick. If it was a massive button it'd interfere with them trying to maximize the browsing area and minimize all the stuff above like Chrome did.Plywood said:I have the button transparent, wish the default was completely transparent and I was just hoping they would've made the Firefox Icon the button instead. I would honestly keep it on.
Haha, nobody realistically believes that will happen.Zombie James said:

Is your quicktime plugin for Firefox 4 broken.
Everytime I try to stream a mp4 file from the internet (Giantbomb, TWit, Rev3) the plugin fails to load. This did not happen on FF 3.6, Chrome or Safari.
I have to download the entire file to my desktop before I can begin watching it.
Can someone using a Mac try this link and tell me if the quicktime plugin loads and the video begins to stream?

Darkatomz said:-There is NO ask for tab-saving upon closing the browser. I found a line change in about:config that fixed this, but what the hell?? WHY would you disable that by default?
You can also set it so that your previous session will always load on startup in the options menu. Just change the "When Firefox starts" item to "Show my windows and tabs from last time".Ifrit said:You can restore your previous session on the startup page, theres a big button at the bottom to do so, I think it's great since it just leaves you the option of using it or not without having to confirm it every time you close FF
Anyways, I'm actually feeling it slower that FF3 while loading multiple tabs, some of those don't even load at all unless I manually stop loading others
My internet connection IS slow though, but I didn't have that problem with FF3 as much as FF4
Middle mouse wheel click.Rewrite said:OK, I miss the refresh button's placement. I was never the one to press F5. I'll have to get used to it. And if you're using a touchpad, you can ctrl+left click to open a link in a new tab.MrBig said:Middle mouse wheel click.
You can move the refresh button. Right click anywhere -> customize -> drag refresh button to old spot.Rewrite said:OK, I miss the refresh button's placement. I was never the one to press F5. And if you're using then newest synaptics driver you can assign a certain area on the pad to middle click (or do anything else) when you tap it (no effect when you just brush over it like normal)CrookedRain said:And if you're using a touchpad, you can ctrl+left click to open a link in a new tab.

They changed the way tabs load when your session restores now. It'll now load up 3 tabs at a time so that your hard drive doesn't go crazy trying to load everything up at once and freeze up the application for a long period of time. You can change how many tabs it loads at a time in about:config by changing "browser.sessionstore.max_concurrent_tabs".
