All I see all the time from PC gamers is complaining about poor ports, bad performance, bugs, launcher problems, installing drivers, h24 tinkering in graphics settings and the list goes on.

We console gamers just sit down on the coach and start having fun.

Then come the stupid defenses:
"lol what did you expect when you use the MS Store?"
"lol what did you expect when you bought a gaming laptop?"

The reasons why don't matter. The fact is that PC gaming can be a huge pain in the ass if you're unlucky.

I'm a PC gamer btw. But I don't try to sweep the downsides under the rug.

I had the addiction to buying games and inflating my backlog past all reason. The only thing that really has made me stop and allowed me to be a little more critical with my purchases is Gamepass. When you're getting new games literally every 3-4 days, it really scratches that itch of needing new stuff. Then you just buy the stuff you really, really are sure about. You spend less and end up with even more than you started with. It's totally nuts. I've only been subbed since E3 this year, so I'm still in the honeymoon phase for sure.

I love the feeling of discovery you get with a new game that clicks. With GP your spending limit is a simple flat fee, generally less than the cost of a new game for a year. All the XGS games...Psychonauts 2, AoE IV, FH5, and Halo Infinite all at the end of this year alone. Plus a constant barrage of other games, PC+Console+Cloud on Ultimate, GwG, and perks on top. I feel much better just paying a flat fee to get that discovery high than doing it like I did before, which would lead to backlog guilt from having paid games I wasn't playing.

Kind of a different issue though, since there are plenty of storefronts without these problems. Launcher problems are purely the fault of the maker of said launcher, and I had exactly the same issues as the person you are replying to when I tried MS Store, it was completely awful even compared to how bad a time I had with Uplay, where my whole computer would freeze for 10 seconds when it launched.

The bolded is the fault of the game port team/developers and the italisised text is just someone who didn't understand what PC gaming is.

The number of people that have these problems are probably the same number of people that have problems with steam etc.

I have had zero problems with the store on windows 10/11. Downloaded 105gb of forza 5 at ~100Mbps on my 100Mbps connection. Downloaded the latest 100gb patch for flight sim the other day at 100Mbps too. Installed just fine, games play just fine.

Ever since I got gamepass I've learned to NOT buy any games, unless you know for a fact that a certain game is not coming to gamepass.. like I had to actually buy Vanguard unfortunately, that one game cost me almost as much as a full year of GPU!

When Cyberpunk came out I told everyone just wait for it to show up on gamepass and people told me I'll be waiting for 2-3 years..... we shall see.

My son will absolutely love lawn mowing simulator and I'm not even joking. He's 4 and loves lawn mowers. He already enjoys farming simulator on my phone, so mark me down as 1 of the few people that will have Lawn Mowing simulator. Also I'll be downloading Halo: Infinite for myself of course.

XIII-2 with FPS boost, Halo Infinite is already great.

How is the One Piece Musou? I’ve played two excellent games in that genre this year (Persona 5 Strikers and Age of Calamity), how would it compare?

Only played One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 in the genre, but it's...fine, really baffling story decisions with arcs just being skipped over and some characters i really wish were playable, doesn't help that some just suck, Chopper, Usopp, Brook and Bartolomeo are awful for some quick examples.

That being said, the roster is decent, there are many missions, everyone has various moves, stuff to unlock and best of all, everyone genuinely plays differently from each other even when it comes to just basic moves, no character plays or moves the same, of course, like i said, this leads to a case of some characters just being terrible while others are great, Luffy, Big Mom, Kaido, Carrot and such are much better and will wreck bosses or crowds easily.

I've just taken them up on the 3 mths for £1 offer and all I can say, after 5 days of using it, is that once I've finished the Halo Infinite campaign, this unmitigated, buggy POS service is coming off my PC hard drive for ever.

Never have i come across a service that wants to fight you at every step of the way to just playing the damn games. Slow downloads, Failed Installs, in game downloads not working, Constant Xbox Live sign ins, clicking on shortcuts to start games and...nothing. Constantly having to close the games via task manager because they're still running in the background.

I despise Ubisoft Connect, Loathe EA Origin, have come to tolerate Steam & Epic Store but at least they just work, but this thing is nothing but rage inducing most of the time.

That's unfortunate. Haven't had a single problem with it myself. The download speed is slightly slower than Steam but that's all I can really come up with for negatives.

Ascent coop is second best game this year, after It Takes Two. I really recommend that game, it's good : )

Recommended, so cool to branch off and then meet up or explore. Fairly fast paced too. The patches helped with crashes from months ago.

Played Rubber Bandits with my kids this weekend. Game is pretty dang fun.
