Folks that own both a PS4 and X1, are you able to justify both purchases thus far?

XBO has been used a lot for SO, FH2, FM6, GOW, FIFA 15/16, and with Halo 5, F4, ROTR coming up and QB, SOT, GOW4...etc, it's more than justified.
Edit: TV/Netflix w/ Kinect has seen a lot of usage, too.

PS4 I've had fun with BAK and TLOU:R on it, but not really justified until U4. Might be forced to get BO3 on it, though, if the resolution remains the same on the XBO as it was in the beta. Oh, and still have to finish Transistor.

My PS4 is getting dust. Nothing really great to play on it right now. Not interested in future exclusive games.

Im only buying Battlefront and Ratchet and Clank for PS4 in the next months.

Rest will happen on Xbone.

Yeah easily.

Getting a ton of time out of my xb1 with rare replay and gears ultimate. Going to get even more time out of it with halo 5 and tomb raider later this year.

Ps4 had bloodborne earlier this year and has uncharted 4 next year. Plus it's the system I bought elder scrolls online for. Which I played throughout the summer

I regret the shit out of my Xbox One purchase. Bought it mostly for Master Chief Collection and we all know how that went. Thought Dead Rising 3 kinda stunk. Sunset Overdrive was fun but nothing that justified my purchase. The only games I've really enjoyed on my Xbox One are Killer Instinct and the Rare Collection. My Wii-U and PS4 get tons of use and my XB1 hasn't been on in a month. I've thought about selling it a few times but I keep backing off in the event that Halo 5 ends up being better than I'm expecting (played the beta and didn't like it)

I have both, and the explanation is simple : to be able to play all exclusives that I am interested in.

But in fact, I don't play my PS4 at all right now. Not a single interesting game for me this year. I am waiting for Street Fighter V and NioH lol.

Otherwise, I play my Xbox a lot, and I will be playing Halo 5 and Tomb Raider at the end of the year.

I also have a Wii U, Vita and 3DS. Only one that I should get rid of is the 3DS, I just don't like this console and its games.

I have all 3 systems

Wii U:
All the exclusives have more than made the purchase worth it.

XB1: Most lacking
Rare Replay, Gears Ultimate, Halo Collection, Sunset OverDrive, Dead Rising 3
Looking forward to Scalebound, Quantum Break, Crackdown and maybe Halo 5 and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

PS4: Most happy
I play most 3rd party here
Bloodborne, Killzone Shadowfall, Infamous, Uncharted Collection, P.T.(still got it), The Last of Us Remasterd, DriveClub, Rocket League And I'm looking forward to all the things

Sure.

My XB1 gets the most use and my PS4 has had some fun exclusives. Gold and PS+ have varied enough in games, that I've received a decent library.

I have both systems. I traded WiiU for One. There's something with Xbox that I like and I'm waiting that Microsoft makes it more like a PC for living room.

PS4 is however my main system for games and it's strange that my 14yrs old daughter wants to watch Netflix with PS4 and not with Xbox+kinect.

I own all 3 and I'd say it's worth it for me, mainly because I've never owned an Xbox console previously. So the X1 allows me to play series like Halo and Gears which I missed out on last generation to see what all the fuss is about, as well as the classic Rare games and the occasional exclusive that interests me like Dead Rising and Sunset Overdrive. Also, having both GwG and Plus allows me to try games I wouldn't have otherwise. For example, I finally played the Tomb Raider reboot and loved it, wouldn't have done that without getting it on Gold. Now I will likely pick up the sequel in November, which I wouldn't be able to do without owning an Xbox One. As someone who has never owned every console in a generation before, I'm rather enjoying the benefits of having all 3 consoles.

Was in the same boat as OP until I bought one this year. I still play Wii U and handhelds more than PS4/XB1. XB1 is much better for media playing (smartglass is suerb), but I buy most multiplats on PS4 since I have more friends with PS4.

Have everything: PC, PS4, XB1, WIIU. Only play the PC regularly. I paly the XB1 semi regularly, i pay for online on it only. PS4 hasn't been played since infamous came out. I just got Until Dawn so that will change when I finish mgs on PC.

Wii U is the newest addition, so I play Mario Maker every once in a while. I basically bought all the mario games for it, but I wasn't really feeling 3d world so far. I hope it gets better because the first world is trash like a lot of 3d land was.

I owned everything including a gaming PC. I've decided to sell my PS4 and Wii U because they weren't getting used. I prefer the XB1 for its media remote, OS, upcoming OS, exclusives that are here and now, achievements over trophies, and controller (which I use on PC as well.). I use it for sports games and any multiplat game that doesn't make it to PC.

I'll probably get a PS4 when some new bundles or colours come around since star ocean isn't coming to PC at the moment. Maybe Black Friday will surprise me.

As for the Wii U, I've abandoned the entire Nintendo ecosystem and won't get back into it unless the NX impresses me (I'm gonna miss Xenoblade X but it might be playable on the NX).

I absolutely regret my xbox one. I only got it because of that best buy deal to sell 360 and get a decent chunk of change. I thought id never get more for my 360 and upgraded it. I really regret selling my 360. I havent played anything I like. Also the controller is complete trash. Siiigh

Nope, ended up selling my X1 since i rarely if ever touched it.
I will jump back in when more exclusives i want fall inline with a cheaper price. I was a day one buyer for wiiu, ps4 and x1

PS4 is easy. All multi plays, tons of great indies, and amazing controller. It's my main console this gen.

Xbo not really. Just play it a little on the occasional exclusive and it's twitch app.

Well, my XB1 was a gift so it's not that hard to justify. But it's pretty much just been a Halo machine with some occasional Sunset Overdrive.

It's been worth it just to have the ability to play any game that interests me. PS4 has been my primary console, but I couldn't imagine missing out on Sunset Overdrive, Splatoon, DKC TF, Bayonetta 2, etc.

Kinda, I have PC, PS4 and XB1 and all of them get significant amount of play time. But after my coop buddy for BB stopped playing, the PS4 would be hardest to justify. Hopefully the upcoming DLC will change that.

Depends on how you mean justify. I have no regrets if that is enough justification for you. I have enough disposable income that playing just a few games on any given console is enough for me not to be bothered.

I have all 3 consoles but primarily play on the PC. Each console has had exclusives that I've enjoyed.

I only use my PS4 for FFXIV... haha. So not really I suppose? I don't regret it at all. But I'm certainly not making the most out of it.

Had Ps4 & X1 from launch along with a decent pc.
The Ps4 packed up and was not missed and the only reason I have another one is because it was free with my phone.

Absolutely. I use my PS4 for cross-platform releases and Sony exclusives, use my One for media (Plex and the like). Tomb Raider will probably be the first exclusive game I play on my One so it's basically been a glorified Roku so far, but Ori and the Blind Forest was nice.

Pricewise - no.
But few gadgets are worth the money. $600 for a new phone. $400 for a new smart watch. Won't ever be worth it economically.
But it's fun. So if I don't think about the money I've spent they've all been worth it for this since day 1. Plus WiiU and PC. They all have exclusives I wouldn't want to miss, that's all I care about really.

I wanted both, I could afford it, so I bought them. I don't sit around thinking of whether or not my purchase has been justified or not, there's no point.

I have both.
And i say yeah.
both will have a cool library of games.
(uncharted 4/street fighter V/ ratchet/ KI season 3, HALO 5/GOW4)
For now, both are to me, BluRay/NETFLIX machines. Because i dont have money for games right now.

Not able to justify my PS4 purchase so far no.

Still no Exclusives for it were released since launch that had my interest.

Own both PS4 and XB1 and wouldn't want to miss either of them. I usually play 3rd-party games on PS4 because usually they have the edge over XB1 graphically. If they are identical, I play them on XB1 because of the (in my opinion) slightly superior controller and Xbox Live. In addition to that, I really like the XB1 exclusives - they alone justify owning the console for me. Also, I use the XB1 as my Blu-ray player, the PS4's fans are way louder which makes it useless for video. So the answer to OP's question is YES.

Not exactly...

I got Bloodborne, Rocket League, and the SFV beta for games that I actually put time into. Just about everything else of note I picked up on PC.

May or may not pick up Tales of Zestiria on PS4 soon, but the PC version looked okay. Super tentative about Dragon Quest Heroes

No way I pick up SFV on PS4 because I'd be paying PS+ for absolutely nothing when I can play it online with PS4 players for free.

More or less... I know my opinion is controversial here, but I definitely believe the XB1 was worth it. The PS4 so far has not been so interesting.

I don't really give a damn to the minor factual differences between both platforms when talking about multiplatform games, for that reason I get most games on XB1 just because I love how easy it is to share between Xbox Live friends my recordings and because I like the overall interface and functionality of the XB1 better.

That said, the next game I'm really looking forward to play on PS4 may be Uncharted 4, Ratchet or Persona 5, whatever comes first. Not sure if was worth the ammount I paid just for those games though.

Bought a PS4 first, mainly cause for the past 3 generations I only owned PlayStation devices so I wasn't feeling safe about getting a XB1, specially after E3 2013. But I bought a XB1 later and never regretted... If my perception keeps like that I may only buy a Xbox next gen (and a Nintendo handleheld).

Have PS4, gaming Pc & XB1.

Having all 3 is a bit of a waste imo so am trying to sell my xbox.Much prefer my ps4 and pc combo.

I have xb1/ps4/gaming pc. I bought both consoles at launch and I have mixed feelings. I sorta regret buying xb1 at launch but at the time I really wanted to play Ryse and KI. I ended up loving Ryse and not getting into KI much. Ryse and Halo MCC are the only games I really played. I could have easily saved money and bought the system much later. The one thing that makes it not so bad is the fact that I get a bunch of testing from VMC for xbox one games. So it's making me money.

The ps4 is a bit easier to justify but I still use my pc the most. My pc is basically right next to the TV so I can easily play my games on the couch. In fact it's awesome because I have one of those gf's who LOVES to watch me play basically anything. It works out extremely well. Only downside is I can't really get fps on the pc as I use the controller majority of the time.

I own all 4 of the major current platforms and I don't regret it a bit. I have more than enough money to buy whatever I want for my hobby.

Currently I haven't used my Xbone in over a month, but that's fine because there's plenty of great stuff coming out for it in the next few months. Also, I got the awesome white Sunset Overdrive bundle, so I'm really happy to have the edition that I do (that and Sunset Overdrive was so good that it basically justified the purchase for me).

I have both. I feel justified so far. Xbone has been stronger for me this year, but my PS4 has been great as well.

pc gets about 90% of my playtime but still own a wii u, x1, and ps4. sure they're justified. its not like ill only own the games i have right now, theres still years left in this generation.

As far as gaming, no. My PS4 has received much more attention. I like the feel of the Dual Shock more (when it's not breaking), and many multi plats run or look better.

As far as an entertainment console, the XBox has been wonderful. I can't tell you how much easier it's made life for my wife and I to jump to xbox video using kinect and play our daughters favorite shows. We've bought so many episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Dora The Explorer, it's almost sickening to think about, lol. In that regard, it's been worth it for me.

I own all 3 consoles and I've put very little time into the PS4. I need to get on that, but the simple fact is I play my online games where my friends are.

No, not really, most of the must play games are on both. I eventually just gave my XB1 to my brother, will pick up a new one when a slim model releases.

Well I have a X1, Wii U and PC and I have been struggling to justify the X1 purchase with basically all multiplat games going to PC, so far only Bloodborne and maybe TLoU/UC collection appeal to me now

I had both but sold the PS4. I vastly prefer the Xbone controller (my hands cramp after playing PS4 for a few hours).

More than that though, Sonys exclusives are not for me. They tend to be story-focused and I'm not a fan of that. My favorite PS4 exclusive was Killzone.

Ps4 and xbone have been justified. Maybe ps4 less because I really haven't played anything new and exclusive on it. I still think the ps4 has been worth my money for some of the ps+ indie titles but good exclusive software has been really really slim for the PlayStation.
Luckily owning both consoles I can pick and choose which has titles on sale. Since acquiring both machines I have not paid full price on ANY software title because I can pick and choose the version that is on sale, has bonuses etc.
