The glory days :(
Now we're stuck in a shit (although getting better) league that's hard to get out of.
It's even harder when you have crooks (essentially) at the helm of it all :(

Looking forward to the PL and Euro's next year.

Alan Pardew tries to explain his transfer policy this summer:

"He also gave an early contender for quote of the season. 'We've been involved in most of Sunderland's business that they've done but we've not got involved in it so we've got to do what we think is right for Newcastle,' he said."

What.

If I had to pick a second team, I'd say Bayern. Just love Gomez, Robben, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, etc.

Well, I want them to win the CL while we aren't in it.

Fuck yeah, got Shamrock Rovers or Flora Tallinn as the first team in the champions league qual.

If you listed two or more teams, let me know which one you want listing under.

Put me under Copenhagen. Sad to let Joe be all alone with Palermo though. ;)

Secondary teams? Ajax (Litmanen forever!), Barcelona (so beautiful it hurts) and of course Finland, the team that has never looked so unlikely to qualify for Euro tournaments or the World Cup.

I thought Leverkusen refused to sell him to a German league club?
just some stupid talk to raise the price. they will sell him or he'll be definitely go on a free transfer next season.

BAAAAAAAAAAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERN!

we probably will when he comes back from copa america!

You better hope no one else bids for him then. They are desperate not to sell to Bayern.

L'Equipe are reporting the we are close to signing Diarra. There was also something about talks involving Aquilani moving on loan to Fiorentina (with an option to buy).

Yeah, exactly.

I don't want to sound silly here but which Diarra?

Shay Given is at Bodymoor Heath (Villa's training ground). £3.5m is the rumoured price.

Really wish Arsenal had picked him up...he's old enough not to hurt Szc, and good enough to play for at least another 3 or 4 years.

He'd be good, but the prices I often see quoted for him are far too high.

They paid close to £20 million for him. He was unlucky to lose his place to Khedira, but he's become a complete midfielder now. I think they are pricing him at around €15 million and I would expect Redknapp to bite after Sandro picked up a knee injury.

i figured there'd be more Arse and Chelsea fans GAF than there are. United and Pool are running away with it.

And that's surprising?

The United and Liverpool bandwagons resemble Death Star's. That's why by the time the season gets going, only proper United and Liverpool fans remain. There's actually very few TRUE Liverpool supporters in here. I can't tell the difference in terms of United fans. :lol

What about Wilson Palacios, you guys going to sell him?

Yes, I think Napoli and PSG were interested. It feels bad to say, but he really hasn't been the same player since his brother was murdered.

When he first signed he was wrecking ball in midfield. But he's become a bit of a liability now.

Ok, now you're just taking the piss. ;)

I'll be very interested to see how Liverpool do next season. It seemed their strong finish to the season was more a reflection of their horrible start. By comparison to the first 6 months, it looked amazing! Without the "easybeat" element they earned under Hodgson, I'm not so sure they'll be quite so competitive against the top teams.

Koptimism aside, I don't think their list is very strong, and it certainly lacks depth.

One of the most beautiful goals I've ever seen. So good.

Shame it was against us xD

lol, if he stays away from injury (if thats even possible?) he'll score alot for chelsea.

Shakiri from FC Basel being linked to tottenham, Daily Mail saying tottenham have had scouts watching his games and were impressed. He'd be a good buy and cheap.

What you saw at the half of the season until the end, was the real Liverpool. Forget the Roy reign, he gave us our worst start in more than 50 years. Do you think we can do worse than that with Dalglish?

And we managed to finish 6th and had an outside chance of 4th for some weeks. I can see us doing well for the first time since 08/09 again.

He was pretty amazing in the first match against AC Milan in the CL, imo.

Don't understand where you're coming from with that one. Our start under Hodgson had nothing to do with our end of season form - our form under Kenny put us 3rd in the table (since he took over, not overall). You don't get 3rd place without playing well.

I think we'll do just fine, aim for this season is to get back into the Top 4 and I think we've got a great chance to do that.
