Basically, the top 4 had their total points halved and rounded up to the nearest point thereafter if necessary. Each team plays each other twice for points as usual. As it stands fenerbahce are now 2 points behind galatasaray.
It's not strictly a playoff as you would see in cup finals like the Champs league with 2 legs and away goals etc.
Teams 5 - 8 are in the same situation, but playing for the last Europa league spot.
Gala are still ahead in the playoff by 2 points but still have to face us in our stadium
where they have not beaten us for 12 years
I think this playoff thing is only this year, it was mainly to rejuvenate interest in the league after so many people lost faith in the TFF and the leagues reputation was tarnished to a lot of people in Turkey. Its worked pretty well.

Guthrie should be turned in to a Tiote-esque player then have Sigurdsson play in front of him. This formation would be for games Tiote and Cabaye aren't playing in (for whatever reason). Be it domestic cup games or European matches. I don't want Tiote and Cabaye burned out in every match in every competition so we need good cover. I still want to be challenging for top 4 again next season, as well as in the cups.
Our change to 4-3-3 has been a revelation so maybe we could get a new DM as well so for the above, we have Guthrie and new guy holding, Sigurdsson as an AM. Then a new striker and maybe a new winger will help as well. Plus one or two defenders and we'll be good to go.

I don't think we'll spend 10 million on someone to sit on the bench unfortunately.
Sigurdsson is amazing and belongs in the starting 11 of a club, so if we're just buying him to use him on our 6 games of European football next season then it's a waste for him.

Gotta prepare for dem injuries too. :\ Risky business. He definitely can't be a starting player for us though. I wouldn't change our midfield and forwards for anyone.
Plus if we get a lesser player then I fear we won't have the strength to cope.
