BERLIN — German champions Borussia Dortmund are resigned to losing playmaker Shinji Kagawa, who is said to be considering a switch to the Premier League amid reports of an enticing offer from Manchester United.

Dortmund president Reinhard Rauball has told the 23-year-old Japanese midfielder, whose contract expires in 2013, he must sign an extension by Monday as they do not want to risk losing him on a free transfer.

Dortmund's director of sport Michael Zorc says he has spoken to Kagawa and Borussia are no closer to securing the winger's signature.

"I spoke to Shinji and his advisor last week and to date he is not willing to extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund," said Zorc.

"We have a Plan A and B and we will follow one of them.

"We won't gamble, but he has a specific career plan and he plans to play in England.

"We have to accept that, even if we don't find it good."

Zorc added that it makes no sense to wait another 12 months and risk losing him for free.

"Because he now has a certain market value, there is an economic rationality which has to be followed," he said.

According to reports in the German media, Manchester United are said to have offered Kagawa a three-year deal.

Kagawa has been considered one of the Bundesliga's success stories over the last two seasons having orchestrated Dortmund's surge to the title after joining the club from J-League side Cerezo Osaka in 2010 for just 350,000 euros.

Dortmund beat relegated Kaiserslautern 5-2 on Saturday to go eight points clear at the top of the table and within sight of breaking the most points collected in a single Bundesliga season.

Why would they need Kagawa? They have Silva. And Aguero can play as CAM too.

The thing about Silva unfortunately is that he's very hit and miss these days. Kagawa can provide the spark when Silva can't. Though it seems that he's more likely to end up at United based on the rumors.

Yeah can't wait. You like death note and MGS4, you got good taste :)

Afellay is on, good to see him back.

Thanks man! I actually am a fan of the game your username is based on too, plus the anime that your avatar is based on haha.

Oh niiiiiiiiiice you guys have AWESOME TASTE in games. How the heck did you pick 5?? I have far too many favorites!

I always get sad when I flick through a Fady post and see no green

Same here. I really thought I would field some questions over my splinter cell inclusion.

Also, congratulations to all Porto fans. I shall play as you guys tonight in FIFA to honor you.

That must be the case haha :D I don't love all genres, but for the ones I do I happen to love so many games! By the way, what do you guys mean when you say: "I always get sad when I flick through a Fady post and see no green"

Silva must be exhausted.

Definitely; he's been used all season. The same goes for Mata, he was overused and it showed. In fact, the only Chelsea player who spent more minutes on the pitch this season was Petr Cech haha!

I think it's about the user highlighter extension. Your posts and quotes are highlighted so that you can easily spot them looking back. Or of course on the mobile site your posts and quotes have a green background.

Edit: beaten :/

Oh I see, thanks for the info bro. No one should ever worry about that haha, they will land on my posts, sooner or later ;D

Barca score 6.

As good as Chelsea confirmed.

Barca played their best away performance of the season when not under pressure. They need to not be under pressure throughout the entirety of the next season.

As it stands, four teams are tied in 3rd place with 55 points in Serie A. The last CL spot!

Really hope it's either Inter or Napoli. Can't imagine Udinese doing well, let alone Lazio. Both are pretty average teams with one or two great players (Di Natale; Klose and Hernanes). Inter would be wonderful since they'd also knock out AC Milan in the process.

By the way, Yurt, Conte used the s-word in his post-Novara presser. So we can hardly blame Fady if we lose :(

Barca will always be under pressure. Expectations etc.

With the competition they have in Real Madrid, they don't really get much time off the pressure :/

Silva must be exhausted.
His decline coincided with Yaya's extended leave for the Cup of Nations. Seemed like it took a lot out of him to have shoulder even more of the load than usual.

Yaya said he would focus less on it going forward so hopefully next year Silva doesn't have the same issue.

Inter is still within a shot for a CL spot? Damn, I thought they would be like 14th after all those consecutive losses... bizarre.

Juve - Milan - Napoli - Roma would be best, but I doubt Roma will make up the four point gap on all those teams. I'd probably rather have Udinese over the other two.

Is it just me or does Marin look like a blonde Messi haha?

Well my friend calls him the right-footed
shitter
Messi. lol.

Good win today for the players, I love Puyol, such a cool captain. Thiago scored I believe the 5th goal and started dancing with Alves, and Puyol ran in and shoved them both(kinda slapped Thiago in the back of the head). I think he was telling them to show respect and not act so immature to put it into the other teams face. Which I agree with, no need to dance at 5-0 imo..

Glad Afellay finally got some game time, I think he still has potential to be a good player for us, very unfortunate with the injuries, luckily only cost 3mil though. Messi getting 2 goals and 2 assists after that bad week helps too.

This match should not have made me this emotional :( I don't want pep to leave

My face always went into sad-mode when ever the camera showed Pep. Can't believe he won't be on that bench for us anymore. :(

I hope so too! Hazard would make an excellent addition to City. Would be nice if they pick up Kagawa as well!
It's strange somebody as nice as Fady would wish something as horrible as City well.

Especially when those two players are quite heavily linked with Chelsea!

Martin Ferguson is at the Lille match this evening.

He's probably there to scout Hazard and Debuchy.
There seem to be scouts all over the place everywhere lately.

I really don't know about Hazard. He is obv. a great talent but I don't know that we should be spending so much money on him. It seems our interest is quite genuine. I can't see us battling off the other bidders. City will bid whatever it takes. They came in for Sanchez quite late last year and probably would have got him if Barcelona weren't involved. Still so gutted we didn't get Sanchez, we should have made our move much earlier.

I prefer us to sign Kagawa anyway. He will be much cheaper and won't bust our entire budget. He's cooler too.

P.S - Congrats Porto-GAF, you guys seem to be raking those Titles in year after year.

Oh ye of little faith! They have Gabriel Torje, romanian player of the year 2011. Here's a little anecdote: he's a frequent guest of the casino where I work. I've actually spoken with him a few times. Let's just say he's not very fond of Guidolin. He complained how he never gets the chance to play and how Udinese's not so stellar second half of the season is all the manager's fault. To be honest, he came across like a spoiled little cunt. Also, he always wears a training suit. To the casino. And drives a mercedes CLS, of course. Classy guy. Seriously though, he's like 1.65m. Seeing him in person you would never guess that's he's a professional footballer, let alone an athlete. The same is also true for Quagliarella by the way, whom I've also spoken to. A true napoletano, that's all I'll say (for now). :)))

Did you guys ever get the chance to exchange a few meaningful words with a more or less famous player?

I'm sure United have an interest in Hazard. But thats probably because every big team has an interest too. I think we're more likely to sign Debuchy than Hazard tbh. We could probably sign Kagawa and Debucy for £30m-35m which is what Hazard will probably cost by himself.

Just don't go near Rahxephon or the gaming side and you'll be okay.

Gaming side shouldn't be allowed to bitch about MGS 4. They chose it as their GOTY in 2008. There was plenty of bitching about that decision. Posters said that it was overratd, worst game of the generation etc, etc.

Then they did a another poll a few months ago, asking us to choose our GOTY from 2008 all over again. MGS 4 still came first.
