It was boring tripe until Branagh popped up, then I smiled, then the Olympic rings being forged was utterly fucking magnificent. Bond section was a laugh, all the shit social networking over the music was pointless but the music was class, and then Sande singing with the 7/7 remembrance was great.

I was so ready to just be cynical and down on the whole thing, but then it began and blew me away. It's just a celebration of being British, and although I often harbour a disconnect with the national image, when you see James Bond and the Queen jumping out of a plane, and a celebration of the NHS, and realise that we invented the internet, you can't help but feel proud.
