Happy 70th to Gigi Riva, one of, if not the greatest Italian strikers of all time. Gli Azzurri record goal scorer and who knows how many more he would have added if he didn't suffer so many bad injuries in his career. Took Cagliari from Serie B to the scudetto, and was a 1968 European championship winner. Also was team manger of Italy in 2006.

Thing I find odd about Liverpool this season, I barely watch em so could be talking about me arse here, is why Rodgers who did so well bringing through Sterling and turning around Henderson would seemingly abandon that re: Wisdom/Ibe in favour of spending 50 mil + on Markovic/Lallana/Lovren etc etc

All well being Harry Hindsight but perhaps would have been better going big for a couple of top players like Kjaer/Sanchez and bringing through your Wisdoms/Rossiters/Ibes/Origis

As I said, I don't know enough to really make an informed comment. But I will spout garbage anyways :p

Well Sanchez rejected us. We tried to sign big last season but failed. The problem is that unless you offer rediculous wages, big players will hold off to see if our return to CL is a one season wonder.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy really.

Get in CL > try to sign CL players > rejected by players for more established CL clubs > don't make CL next season etc.

Madrid got Kroos for around £20m. Even we offered that amount of money or more, those caliber of players would reject us in favour of most established CL clubs. It's not 2005 were we can compete with signing CL players.

I like Shaqiri, but it's obvious he won't develop properly/get time under Pep. Sell him for a hefty fee to Liverpool or Arsenal please.

Reading in between the lines from the presser, but I think we might be switching to 4-3-3 for good now. LVG talking about realigning the balance in the team.

Really don't think Di Maria is as effective out wide.

Wouldn't be so bad if someone could get on the end of his crosses though.
