I should have added an experienced one. I don't know how good he is, but from what little I have seen, I haven't been impressed, yes, even in WC.
He is still young and Martinez could do some shrewd things to get him adopted to our team, but its a huge risk.

Can someone help me with the change to game OTs. I know they are only allowed to be posted on the release day now but why? I presume its to lessen the 'mega threads' thing but... people just post in review threads now as they would in the OTs.

Personally, I'm pretty much for it.
I went back to the GTA V thread to see general impressions for the title recently and there was 20,000 posts (and more) about hype and stuff unrelated to the game. Spent ages wading though shite to get to actual posts I wanted to read.
Although in saying that, the OTs can present useful information leading about the release like, say, the release date or DLC.
But surely it would make more sense in that case to limit it to 48/72 hours but stop people from posting the utterly inane "GREAT OP BRO" posts that last for the first 15 pages?
I know that (pre-release anyway) those threads are usually filled with drivel but you do occasionally get good impression posts which are harder to find now.

Threads becoming a community and being difficult for newcomers to come into I think was a reason, also a group of people forming and opinion and hounding out detractors (after a week of nothing posts that bonds people together) I think was another reason
I believe the Assassin's Creed: Unity OT went up slightly earlier than the release date, so I think it can still happen.

It's pretty good. Can't imagine there's that many films about the Crusades though. Valhalla Rising maybe.

Ridley has only made two masterpieces for me. Alien and Blade Runner (The Final Cut ofc). He is a very good visual director though, knows how to get gorgeous shots in most of his films.

Not just them, didn't watch it expecting a documentary. Invented characters and huge gaps in the timeline aside, there are some good parts; not denying that. However it's a baggy, meandering and flabby film. Builds an interesting enough world but so much of the dialogue is cringeworthy and hilariously idealistic and over dramatic. (balian's last speech especially)
Also Bloom is so sappy and wet, didn't believe him as a blacksmith never mind leading cavalry charges.
It tries to take a 12th Century period full of intrigue, complex ideas about religion and interesting historical figures and place it in 21st modern sensibilities. It fails miserably. Incoherent garbage.
