For Those Buying Final Fantasy XV: Which Version Are You Getting?

Its hard to tell, having hated the demos. I love a lot of prior FF games so I get the impression I will like the game as I get used to it and its systems, so I will buy it but not liking the demo makes me reluctant to spend more than the basic version

Deluxe edition looks bad value to me because I would want to watch that movie before the game even comes out so for me its $30 for a steelbook thats hard to judge without seeing it in a video or real life (its gonna have to be pretty special to justify the price). The ultimate collector edition looks awesome, I would love to have the 192 page artbook in particular. Price is incredibly high though.

Since I would prefer to play on PC anyway will probably get a cheap one and hope they make a good ultimate collector edition for it (since I will have played the game on PS4 I will know if its something I want to pay for)

no. But it has a really limited print and sold out pretty quickly. So chances are, like the Kingdom Hearts HD II.5 CE, the price will increase.

I'm getting the Deluxe Edition for the sexy Steelbook.

Yeah and as someone who would like to see it, I see its on amazon video right now for $6 HD rental.

You can probably download it free, but I dont do that.
 
Initially pre-ordered the UCE but was really lukewarm on the price, especially after season pass was announced and found out it wasn't included.

Going to cancel that one. I just ordered the Best Buy exclusive one with the season pass for 75 yesterday. Fingers crossed that it doesn't get cancelled! Really don't like the Amano steelbox.

Is it bad that I'm considering pre-ordering from gamestop for the King's Tale code and then returning it? I'm assuming it'll be on the receipt like most preorder DLC. I'm feeling kind of hesitant about doing that though.
 
Standard, having so many amazon discounts stacked on top of each other means I'm getting it for less than half of MSRP and ya can't turn that down.

During E3 Amazon Canada had a promotion that lowered the cost of the standard edition from $80 to $50 if you pre-ordered FF15.
 
I'm getting the digital version plus the season pass so that I can play the game asap. I also have the Deluxe edition preordered on Amazon with the limited guide. Decided to cancel the Ultimate version since buying the game 3 times is a bit over kill. Will put the money towards a Pro.I don't need the figurines. Having Noctis would only make me want to get the other 3.

I just looked at this. If the figure is as good as the Overwatch one is then maybe. But $265 is pretty steep. The art book a big nice art book? or those thumb art books?

I looked for it and i guess these are only sold by SE huh?
 
Deluxe.....although I'll probably give kingsglaive away since it sucked so much ass. I just want the damn steelbook



maybe I'll just get the standard..........no reason to pay an extra $30 for a steelbook.
 
Normal Day One edition from Amazon. I want to play the game and immerse myself in it. Not spend a load of money on crap I'd only find cool for about 5 minutes.
 
the deluxe with the amano steelbook

every play arts kai figure I've gotten has been disappointing as hell. they're made well enough, but thats about it. Not a good set of figures (not even counting when they take their artistic liberties and make them the fucking stupidest looking figures ever)

Yeah the price is nuts especially without a season pass

Hmm didnt know about the best buy version, its a shame they dont have a steelbook case for that price (even if its different than the deluxe) since at $100 base price its $15 more than the digital version - though it does have the advantage of being GCU so $80 with discount, plus the beanie

I waited so long I can wait one more year just to play the full game with all its dlc for a reasonable price

Saving $270 from the UCE means that its just another $130 to get a Pro. Not sure whats most crazy, the price of UCE or the fact that I want it anyway.
 
Cancelled my UCE just now.

Getting a free copy from SE anyway. Will purchase future PC edition if game is good.

Not sure if I would buy for 100/80 as it doesn't seem entirely worth it. If you have GCU, you can get game for 47.99 + 25 for season pass making it around 75. I wouldn't pay extra for a beanie. Yesterday they had a page up for 75 or 60 dollars with GCU. 60 dollars for game and season pass was a no brainer to me. The page was taken down though so worried that order might get cancelled, lol.
 
Normal edition. I normally love steelbooks but FFXV's is way too gaudy for me. I'll just use the reversible cover on the normie edition for that nice FF elegance.
 
I have the UCE ordered.

Debating whether I should resell it and get standard edition instead.

Because I bought a tablet and the ps4Pro :/ . . .
 
Been on the fence for this game for the longest time but recent impressions have won me over, I think I'll be getting the regular version digital on Xbox unless something drastically changes.

I had the Deluxe version preordered, but much prefer the reversible cover to the steelbook. Plus while I enjoyed Kingsglaive I probably won't watch it again for a long long time, so I'm happy waiting for the standalone blu ray to hit the bargain bins.
 
I'll be waiting it out to see if they release a version for Switch. Being able to play a long and involved game like that just about anywhere sounds too tempting. If it doesn't make the jump, I'll just grab the regular edition on XBO once the price drops a bit. Pokemon will own my soul next month.

That's true. I was supposed to import this from the US also and that would cost me another 50 or so on shipping from a third party shipper. It just doesn't make sense as the only thing I really want from the set is the nice boxes and the art book. I hope they release a nice art book in the future. Or have an Ultimania that contains a lot of art.
 
I was gonna get the one with Kingsglaive, but I can get a great deal on the standard version. The price difference is just too big to ignore and I got bills to pay so I opted for the standard version. I'm saving like 60 bucks this way.
