Babylon's Fall? Haha. But I guess that was outsourced to Platinum.
No I would count that but wasn't really AAA was it. Maybe Nier but that still more than a decade ago.

Part of the fun is seeing what jokes people come up with about the game. When we bring the other site into the equation, everyone just ends up wanting to discuss that site instead because they’re perpetually scorned with their ex(era) and can’t move on. Same thing kind of happens with Jason Schrier, where people become tunnel-visioned into needing him to be wrong at all times.Tbh the talk over this game always nosedives, normally over most of the forum hating this game for whatever reason.
Should've started with "let me get this straight".Part of the fun is seeing what jokes people come up with about the game. Ohh you meant new IP.
You said new game.
Bravely Default
Harvestella
Octopath Traveler
The World Ends With You
Triangle Strategy
DioField Chronicle
Setsuna
Lost Sphere (Spirtually Setsuna 2)
Nier.......if you consider Nier and Automata part of Drakensgard then 2003
Lord of Apocalypse
I dont know the budgets of any of these games, hell i dont even know if Kingdom Hearts 1 was a AAA game.Sqaure is one of my favorite pubs of all time but I would hardly call any game on this list AAA.

Can't we just forget about the game and keep on Frey posting? She's gotta be Aphrodite in disguise...
Can't we just forget about the game and keep on Frey posting?
Based on her previous jobs, she is not the right choice for anything reallyThe graphics I could possibly forgive but the voice acting and animations are simply unacceptable. Pretty or not the leading lady was not the right choice for the role. Clearly this project went left somewhere down the line and quality-wise this is a rare miss from Sony. I'm shocked at how bad this turned out.
- Good gameplay.
- Combat can be challenging
If there is no leggy costume to unlock the modding community have some day one work to do.
These legs being hidden is as much of a crime as DC trying to hide Wonder Womans thighs.
Some poor dude tried to demonstrate the "good gameplay" on twitter and he's getting roasted. And for good reason, being able to poke a few hits on an enemy, then running away and having said enemy stand in place instead of going after the player looks like bad AI.
I dunno, maybe they've improved that for the final build, but so far I haven't seen anything that screams "good gameplay".
Game/dialogue/visuals look like absolute fucking garbage.
Who is going to buy this shit?
I disagree mate. Imo cheesing should be way harder than just running back for a bit until the enemy turns around.Being able to cheese enemies?
Dare I say being able to cheese enemies in most games is something that shouldnt be the fault of the game but the fault of the player.
i.e You played your self.
Elden Ring has so many enemies that as long as you are on torrent are easy as.
Ninja Gaiden is a masterclass in gameplay, but you can effectively izuna your way through the entire game.
If thats how you want to play go for it, but im sure there are tons of players who know they can cheese their way through, but choose skill instead.
You can cheese in the majority of games.I disagree mate. Imo cheesing should be way harder than just running back for a bit until the enemy turns around.
And I don't think it's the player's fault at all. Being able to cheese = bad design.
Hit and Run strats are literally a thing in like 90% of games cept those that have enemies who regen health.I disagree mate. Imo cheesing should be way harder than just running back for a bit until the enemy turns around.
And I don't think it's the player's fault at all. Being able to cheese = bad design.
Welll... I guess I'm in.
It sure have its flaws, but I like the setting a lot.
I like Frey too, even with all the shittalk.
Also, it does not look great... but not bad either. Visually It tries too hard on realism I think, and reality is boring and bland.
Jim Ryan is on fire, sheeeessh, first trash exclusive for the year for playstation! what a nice start! pc and xbox will definitely be happy this will only be on playstation
You can cheese in the majority of games.
It's on the player to play skillfully or like a retard.
You can poke and go away in brands with certified incredible combat like monster hunter.
I replayed some of dogma in the past week, and you can cheese like a mofo in there aswell.
In infamous you can run away with the neo run.
The number of examples is too big to even start a list.
Being some of examples of it doesn't make up for an excuse.Hit and Run strats are literally a thing in like 90% of games cept those that have enemies who regen health.
Cheesing even more so regen health or no
Ninja Gaiden.
Izuna = XYXXXXXXXXXX when the enemy is dead, XYXXXXXXX youll lock on to the next enemy rinse and repeat, even on harder diffculties.
Ninja Gaiden = bad design.
Elden Ring while on Torrent.
Ride in get hit in....run away
Ride in get hit in....run away
Elden Ring = bad design
BloodStained
Equip poison sword
Hit enemy
Run and wait for poison to wear off
Hit enemy
Run and wait for poison to wear off
BloodStained = bad design
Devil May Cry
Replay first few stages forever
Walk your way through the rest of the game
Devil may Cry = bad design
Devil May Cry vs Dante
Stand on top of pillar
Grab him everytime he tries to climb it.
One of the hardest boss battles....one button win
Devil May Cry = bad design
Octopath Traveler
Kill the sorcerer with a cleric and dancer as your first two character
Proceed to end game.
Ocotpath Traveler = bad design
I can keep going because cheesing in games is common as fuck and if it was hard to do it wouldnt be cheesing.
So if this game has enemies who you can hit and run against, thats not exactly damming against whether the gameplay is fun when you dont cheese the game.
Tell me a recent game with good game design that doesnt have any cheesing.
I can almost guarantee I will find a cheesing strat within 2 minutes.
Well give us the games which have good game design.Being some of examples of it doesn't make up for an excuse.
Like come on, do you two really see that video on the twitter post I linked before and think to yourselves "yeah this gameplay's fire".
Also yes, imo being able to do any of the shit you posted is a flaw in the design.
Jim Ryan is on fire, sheeeessh, first trash exclusive for the year for playstation! what a nice start! pc and xbox will definitely be happy this will only be on playstation
gladlyWho is gonna tell him?
I wouldn’t.
Basically any game in which the enemies are smart enough to chase you, which should be the minimum instead of a luxury.Well give us the games which have good game design.
If hit and run strats and cheesing immediately eliminate a game from having good game design id like you to tell me which games have good game design and gameplay.
Like what games?Basically any game in which the enemies are smart enough to chase you, which should be the minimum instead of a luxury.
Even then, I could forgive some games having cheese strategies if at least they are kinda hidden or hard to come by in normal (non-retarded) gameplay.
If you are fighting an enemy, you decided to turn back, and said enemy decides to turn back too instead of chasing you, then yeah, the game's combat has design flaws.
I don't give a shit for resetera but lets be honest here, it's a stereotype trope for black characters.Of course ResetEra are currently all crying over how racist this game is because the protagonist who's black begins the game in court...
Yeah please, lets look for a perfect game in this specific genre I want so the argument fits my narrative.Like what games?
Specifically character action and/or action rpg games that dont have cheesing and/or hit and run strats.
I'm not going to look through all my library of games just for you mate. Maybe there isn't any, but guess what, that's not excuse for other games to have shit gameplay.Theres gotta be a game youve played recently that fits your strict rules of good game design.

Yeah sure I like them. And yeah sure I think that's shit. As I've said many times already, it's not a excuse for other games to do the same.Do you like from Software games? The amount of cheese possible in that games is insane.
And we have all played the demo. We don’t need impressions. We already know it is not very good.
Not sure why this is a Sony miss? It isn't First Party.Clearly this project went left somewhere down the line and quality-wise this is a rare miss from Sony.
