Yeah, I was actually going to put down the Cobra but thought would they really put in a similar car to the XB?

Either way, we know there is Aussie stuff coming. Fucking hyped!

Thanks to The-IC at Deviant Art for these classic Bathurst cars renders.
Oh man, can you imagine the races..??!!?
I just realised what the car reveal of "built for Bathurst" would also mean... *footage* of Bathurst :D

i'm amazed we havent gotten a full lap of that. i fully expected it shortly after the glimpse at the bathurst 1000 we saw. cant wait to see that draw distance and a better glimpse of that lighting. should be a stunner (in addition to being a fucking blast to race on!)

so, we've seen 11 tracks by my count.

wonder if we'll get a few more turn 10 released full laps or if from here on out (starting wed!) it will just be captured and released footage of whatever from all the gaming press?

hopefully the game contains enough material so that t10 can do the media outlet exclusives stuff, yet still have more to show on their own.

ps
Ian, other than the big game sites, do you know if the game was already shown also to smaller, but more focused sites? like the SRT guys, team WWW etc?
thx

why did you cross out wed? wont the press show their stuff on the 4th? my impression is that the media will get to publish what they want at the point and we should begin to learn details of the complete game... no exclusives. maybe i'm wrong. ?

I'm amazed we haven't seen any footage of it at all. But it looks like the lighting is from a similar time of day as Sebring, which is nice.

Did anyone guess the cars from the WIR yet?

Here’s a little secret: Due to media coverage supporting Forza Motorsport 5’s release dropping on Wednesday, next week’s Forza Showroom will be the final reveal. Do you think we saved something special for last? Topping the Ariel Atom V8 will be difficult, but I think we managed to hit a new high mark. Judge for yourself on Wednesday at 6 a.m. Pacific!

Here are a few clues to whet your appetite:

2JZGTE
Group B RWD
Built for Bathurst

Skyline?

Edit: 2JZGTE is probably the Supra Mark IV. Group B RWD is likely the Renault 5 Turbo, Built for Bathurst I'm guessing (or hoping) is the Falcon GTHO.

I have a theory: We don't know about gravel tracks yet, but is there a chance that with a Group B car, we might see a paved Pike's Peak?

I crossed out nothing. next wednesday t10 as usual, and about other media, I guess you are more informed than me. and 4th, its like ..Monday (nice) 8)

2JZGTE = any twin turbo toyota with this engine, supra rzt
Group B RWD = rally #037,
Built for Bathurst = whatever saladine wishes, as we learned Dan just cannot say 'no' to this man :)
it will be that pimp-ass black 635 BMW you posted :pp, or -realistically- the green xbone bathurst V8 ;)

Speaking of turbo, I wonder if Turn 10 has addressed the way turbo lag is simulated.
While FM4 certainly had this effect, it wasn't really pronounced. This is especially evident when a small capacity engine such as a 1.2 was fitted with a big racing turbo. Without supporting mods, that motor would struggle to reach boost threshold required to spin a turbine that size. Yet, it was pretty simple in FM4 to do so..

However, the RS2000 in Horizon exhibited good lag. Don't know if that was done by PG or what..

strange.. I'll admit that I havent really fiddled a lot with the very small cars in forza, but slapping a real big turbo (like one you would put in a 3.000cc displacement) in a 1.2,
it would have the effect of the engine NEVER being able to spool the turbo, no matter the supporting mods. :)
maybe stage 1/2/3 turbos on the smaller displacement cars also respond to ..smaller turbos?
like stage 3 turbo on a 1.2 being the equivalent of a t2/t25 turbo (in power upgrade) while lets say in a 2.0l that same-named "stage 3 turbo upgrade" would be equivalent to something like t3/t4?
maybe i will check later f4 for this, but it should work like this.

Yeah, you are probably right. The #10 Commodore was built for Bathurst.
Oh well, just going to have to wait for later DLC I guess...

Although, Mr Greenawalt, if you are reading, you can always change your mind and decide to not show that #10 Commodore and show off my picks instead..

i was thinking, how would you guys feel if the forza series went in the direction of the new KI and adopted more of a season model with lots of DLC? ("no fucking way is it f2p!" -lobb)

imagine the next forza game releases 2 years from now - forza season 2015. this game is built to be the foundation for the entire franchise for the generation. it releases with a good amount of content at a fair price but over the course of the next year considerably more content is added as DLC. things like cars, tracks, modes, features, etc.

Forza 2016 releases, which is the forza foundation (released as forza season 2015) but also with all the additional content added during the 2015 year. like KI, if you only purchased some of the DLC content, you can "upgrade" to the full price for season 2015 without spending more then the full price (whatever that may be).

each year, more content is added with an end of year "season" release with ALL previous content included (or maybe just that years?).

postives:
+ lots more content. in a few years time there literally could be FAR more tracks and cars then the typical sequel method allows for.
+ new content comes frequently.
+ features could be added that otherwise may be concerned too niche for a typical sequel (pit stops!)
+ more options in purchasing models. could be considerably cheaper if there are only a few aspects of the game you are interested in, or if you are willing to wait a few years between purchases.
+ cheaper to develop. after initial engine investment, most additional costs would come from the creation of new assets, not in major engine improvements for the typical sequel.

negatives:
- core game engine would be mostly improvement limited to the original foundation engine, as all content would always have to work with the original season. graphics would be mostly the same each year and would likely fall behind the competition.
- less "buzz" from mainstream press for lack of truly new sequels.

and what happened to drivers animation and arms especially ?
they finally looked great in previous builds (see laguna seca demo build) but now arms are again looking like they're coming from somewhere below the wheel.

i assume it depends on the car

Hold on, friend! I'd love to share with you some swell news about the Windows 8 Metro UI! Wait, where are you going?
Have they announced anything about liveries yet?

i'm no programmer, but i'd imagine to some extent that certainly could.
It could be rather difficult unless the game's build to completely modular which FM5 isn't.

Basically if they were to do it with the next Forza then I might be okay with it (probably still not that great of a choice for either us or T10, but I'll skip that for now), but they'd have build the game to be much more modular and basically create a new deferred renderer so we'd have a chance of having dynamic lighting and time of day etc. (which would certainly be challenge given the size of th ESRAM and XB1's capability with deferred engines if they want to keep that 1080p60).

as in the livery editor? no specifics that i'm aware of, though they did say that now it happens inside the showrooms rather then in a separate area.

I really like porsches. I am also accustomed to have them in Forza since always.

I understand the EA condition, but I want to believe that T10 has convinced MS to bring up "the porsche add-on for forza 5" on the table along with the various other deals they're doing for the system with EA.
I think there are enough smart dudes in t10 to have thought of that a long time ago.

so maybe, after the sale period of the nextgen NFS, we will hear some good news if we are lucky.

There needs to be at minimum 9-13 more tracks or it is going to get boring really fast. MIA as of today that I would like to see:

Fuji Kaido
Nurb
Mapple Valley
Camino Real
Blue Mountain
Alpine Ring
Rio
New York
Road America

To name just a few.

Looks like LaFerrari is confirmed as the big addition in DLC Pack 1.

Jenson09 on Forza Central got the latest Top Gear magazine which confirmed:

http://www.forzacentral.com/forum/threads/forza-motorsport-5-car-track-list-work-in-progress-updated-november-1st.39389/page-65 said:
Ok so a couple of things from this month's Top Gear mag that's just dropped through my door;

- The first big addition will be the LaFerrari
- You can stretch you legs in many places from Bathurst's Mount Panorama (an ideal place for the soon to be added V8 Supercars). Or Yas Marina, or Spa or Silverstone.
Also confirms Yas Marina, but we already knew that ;)

Oh well, I guess it just confirms what we already knew: desirable cars are held back or removed from the game to be sold separately as DLC. I really miss the old days where paying full price for a game actually entitled you to the full game.

Ho hum.

you cant have cars that are debuted later than the game released, so dlc makes sense anyway.
laferrari will be a nice way to kickstart the dlc. hopefully we'll get the veneno too, as they both debuted this geneva.

While I don't deny the obvious financial incentive to hold back a car like the LaFerrari for DLC, that might not be the only factor at play, considering the car at Geneva was a preproduction model and there are still partially-camouflaged mules out there grinding out miles during final development.
