Just logged into FMnet to check my tier
level. Apparently i've got 30K to redeem in FM5 within 25 days yet the console only releases here in 24. Turn 10, pls!

Same situation here. Old account was screwed due to it being US based and i had 1K on Forza 2/3 :|

I take your point about calling it prologue, but it's a subjective feeling about this launch for me, not meant in any way to be an objective comparison. The DLC gouging doesn't help, it's not the cost, but the principle. I did say DLC discussion brings out the ranting soapbox preacher in me.;-)

Yeah. I don't think I can do it, even though this time all the cars are forzavista. I could maybe do it for the price of 4's season pass. If each month came with a track then we would be talking.

It's not a great place to visit these days. I used to post there alot in the Forza 2 days myself, but over time the tone of the place just pissed me off and I stopped bothering. So many self righteous know it alls lording it over new members and talking down to people. Forza is a lot more fun if you stay well away from the official forum.
On the topic of this season pass, Turn 10 are off their trolley. It seems hard to fathom that even the biggest Forza nut would see this as a good deal, but peoples money peoples choice and all that.
It's not a great look, especially when they've said that to make cert they'd have to leave content off the disc and have it as a free download. If they're making that free, how can they charge for everything else that isn't on disc but still available day one?
It stinks.
And what was with the current F1 cars thing? Did that end up being something else?
Almost sounds like FM5 is going to be shipping with a similar amount of content that other game on that other platform was going to be available free on PSN was/is.

That's a big 'if'. Laser scanning the Nordschleife has been proposed many times in the past for various sims on various platforms and the cost has always been an issue - especially if it's done to an iRacing level of accuracy.
If FM5 does have a laser scanned Nordschleife then Turn10/MS have themselves a huge selling point, especially the staunch PC only sim crowd.
As for the car pack DLC pricing - I'm surprised anyone who has follwed the series is outraged.
I have noticed before Horizon came out and people started calling it out for what they KNEW it was going to be, T10 started heavily opinion moderating their forum. At the same time, oddly there were these new people that defended every single thing they did. You could go onto that site, make up some shit just to see if one of their sheep defended and the same guys would pop right in. It just got silly to a point after the game came out and those same folks were backpedalling while still defending... messy place if you don't toe the line.

It's a real shame because the games are good enough to stand up for themselves and take some criticism. A good official forum would be a great companion to the Forza games.

Yep, you've nailed it right there. That forum is a ghost of a shadow of what it used to be like. It used to be a vibrant, fun, argumentative, busy place to post, with a sense of community. It's been on a steep downward curve since the beginning of FM3 imho.
The funny thing is, I know two of the moderators through Forza over the years, both of them perfectly nice, reasonable funny people. But they both seem to hold the majority of the community in contempt, and I can't for the life of me understand why therefore they would want to be moderators for a community they seem to be so dismissive of. There is little left there now aside from heavy handed mods and sycophants. Shame really.
And holy money grubbing Batman! Four 10 car packs for $50/£35-40 !!!???

Spending real cash to get a car should net you full use of the car. Having two paywalls is nuts.
actually the press release clearly counts four packs. one at launch, and three in the first week of each month, jan to march.

just tell the dudes at t10 to make crystal clear what the deal with track dlc is.
this 50euro "CAR" pass in conjuction with evo mag saying the ring is january dlc...
it needs clarification stat! "two" passes just wont cut it. it will be a ugly mess.
I was about to react to this post, but I couldn't remember for sure: weren't all the DLC cars from Forza 4 playable in quickplay? Buying them in career mode is sort of the point of the game, but I thought it was as simple as setting up a custom race to use them without having to go through that process.

Yes they appear right away in freeplay.
It's only in career where you have to earn them, by playing the career.
you know what? I'm tired of guessing. I want proper, clarified information, and rather soonish..
if microsoft plans to ask on top of the limited edition vip stuff, 50 euros for cars, and who knows what for tracks, i want the info clear written and distinct.
oh, and if microsoft plans to have me pay even a cent for nurburgring, a track which I tolerated and paid for, not one but four times until now in this game, they better tell me that straight up, too
